MY 3 MOST COMMON QUESTIONS!
“How did you learn how to paint?” “How long did it take you to learn how to paint and/or draw the way you do now?” “Any advice for someone wanting to start painting and/or drawing?”
JUST START!
These are the 3 most common questions I get asked whenever I post my art. Just start! Yes, just do it. I was 3 years old when I started drawing belly buttons not on a stick figure or circled “human” but on a full-body human. I had no idea what I was doing but I drew what was visible to me. I was 3 years old when my family discovered what kept me occupied, what kept me quiet, what taught me so much. I was 3 years old when I learned all of my colors and knew what a pencil and paintbrush did. I grew up in a supportive group of people, one where my aunt kept every single piece of artwork, one where there are tons of pictures with me drawing or having art supplies in my hands. I’m so thankful for that because it shows how far I have come. It shows my progress over the years. It gives me a glimpse of what I need to improve on. Growing up I spent my years doing what I fell in love with. I drew on my hand when I got bored in class, I painted my friends face for Halloween, I entered into small art contests through my school years and I’ve taken art classes more than 4 times in High School knowing I didn’t have to. Through all of what I have gone through with Art, I have learned the most important thing.
Don’t Give Up.
You will go through millions of phrases in your life to find your “Signature” to find “YOU” and that means your mark when someone looks at a piece of artwork they know exactly who the artist is. You will doubt yourself looking at other artists’ artwork, you will tell yourself “Maybe I’m not good enough” a million times because critics talk or sales don’t rise. The true meaning of making art is to let yourself go, to express what you feel inside that you can’t say out loud. Painting brings me so much peace, so much happiness, and control. You have no control over what happens to you in life, but you do have control over what you choose to do with your emotions through art. To me, art is more than just painting or making a portrait with a pencil. It is therapeutic, and it shows me what I’m truly capable of doing. I’ve finally realized why I fell in love with art in the first place and 2 words for you,
Keep Going!
The adventure is a rollercoaster but there’s always a light at the end of the tunnel. You will feel accomplished, you will feel happy about the creation of creating your piece. Things do not come easy, maybe they become natural after a long period but PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT!

“Puerto Rico - Home”
So much of me is poured into this painting, not many will understand but I know the ones who know me do. Created this piece in 2018 after my family who live in Puerto Rico and the beautiful Island of its own where I was born.

FAQ
Before I begin, I want to say Thank You to everyone for your messages and interest in my artwork! I appreciate it more than words could ever describe and I apologize that I’m not able to answer all of your questions individually! But I hope this FAQ post helps.
Did you study art? Did you ever go to school for art? Art you taking any art classes at the moment?
I’m a self-taught artist, I did though take art classes at Dunkirk High School and one art class at JCC. But I only took them for the fun since what they taught I already knew. At the moment I’m not taking any art classes.
Do you draw for free? or donate your artwork?
Unfortunately, I do not draw for free or paint. I have done a few donations in the recent years but decided I won’t be doing more unless the issue is for a really good cause. If i could give more I would, but I’m only one person.
Do you do commissions? and if so, what types?
Yes, I do. I’m really interested in any job concerning to art, but especially in: -Disney themes, -Nature -Artwork for book’s covers -Tattoo designs -Illustrations and designs for logos, advertising and etc. -Landscapes -Murals -Acrylic Paintings
What I don’t do: -Comics, Pornographic, Horror, Self Potraits
What are your prices?
This is a question I get and it’s very hard to put a price on art before creating the artwork. But here are some general estimations:
-Drawings: (Only on 8x11 inches Sketchbook Paper) Black and white (pencil, pencils and ink) work starts $100.00 Colored starts $150.00
-Acrylic Paintings: (Sizes are 16x20, 18x24, 24x30 inches) Black and white (paint only) work starts $150.00 Colored starts $200
I ask for 50% of the price upfront and then 50% when I complete the artwork. These are only general estimations and your artwork may have higher or lower price depending on the difficulty of the subject and amount of time it takes to complete. Please DM or e-mail me at ([email protected]) Thank You!
Do you sell original artwork?
Yes I do, you can find them at my Online store, link is down below.
How old were you when you found the passion to create art?
I was 3 years old when I found out the only thing I wanted to do was draw. I began to draw and paint professionally at the age of 17 selling many artwork to locals and creating commissions for them. Some even have made it all around the US.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
As a little girl nature always spoke to me. There wasn’t much more after that, I usually get my inspiration from the outdoors. As well as beautiful pictures, new places that I’ve first traveled to, and other artists.
Do you use reference for your art?
Yes I do. Most of the time I draw what first comes to mind and use pictures that give me an idea of how I want the drawing to come out. I never copy entirely because I interpret my own style to it and add and change things to make it my own. There’s always something different in my artworks.
What materials do you use for traditional work?
A lot of the time I use graphite pencils to draw with, Watercolor tubes for some works, Acrylic paint such as Basics and Liquitex, and Flat brushes (Always).
How can I purchase a painting If I’m local?
Unfortunately the only way to purchase any art from me is through my Etsy Online Shop. I don’t do meet ups or pick ups for many unprofessional and safety reasons as well.
Do you do Halloween makeup and masks? How much?
For Halloween makeup I charge between $40 - $60 depending on the difficulty of the design chosen. Same goes for masks. Halloween makeup isn’t cheap and neither are products, I used to think If I go low on the price I might get more interests but I ended up loosing much more products then I intended.
How much do you charge for Graduation Cap Designs?
I charge about $35 - $45 depending on the difficulty and how long the process takes.
Do you do local murals? Outdoors or Indoors? and How much?
Painting and designing Murals is a new category for me that I’m very excited and proud of. Yes, I do local Murals, either Outside or Indoors. Understand that Mural pricing is determined by 4 factors:
-Location and footage
-Cost of Materials
-Intricacy of design
-Working conditions
Payment: Once we have reached an agreement to start your mural, a letter of agreement will be presented with details of the work to be done and the project start and end dates. A 50% down-payment will be required at the start of the project. The deposit is used to purchase the supplies needed to complete your project and to schedule your murals. Once all the work has been completed, payment in full will be expected. (We can work out a payment plan if that will help you bring your child's dreams to life with paint). Mural Cost: The basic cost for most murals run $10-$20 per square foot. Prices vary depending on the difficulty or intricacy of the design. There may be additional charges depending on working conditions such as restricted hours of operation, cramped spaces or driving time and distance. Pricing includes all materials. However, certain items, such as specialized equipment or scaffolding needed to complete the job will be added to the price of the paint cost estimate. Before your wall mural project begins it will be assumed that there is a base coat of paint on the wall and a cleared work space. Please move as much furniture out of the room as possible. Any prep painting, wall patching, or wall preparation will be an additional fee. Prep painting may include filling holes in walls, texturizing and putting a primer or base-coat on the wall. If you have a tight budget, to lower your cost, I suggest preparing the wall and painting the base-coat yourself. Whether your project is big or modest, every mural is important to me and no job is too small for consideration. I'll work with you to give you a great design for your budget. However, I am happy to scale my designs to suit smaller budgets.
Prices range from $10 to $20 per square foot for wall murals.
A 50 square foot wall at the lowest price (low detail) is $500.00. At the highest price (high detail), the same wall would cost $1500.00.
Most children's wall murals fall into the $10-$20 price range.
If there are more additional questions, don’t be afraid to ask!!
