the sheer fact that these two share the same voice actor ( kappei yamaguchi ) is literally sending me
i’m not lying, i swear, yamaguchi voices larry the cucumber in the japanese dub of veggie tales, it’s literally on yamaguchi’s wiki on his voice works -

Yes, it is I. The one who forgot she had a Death Note fanblog :^)
Anyway, here is a sketch of @ash-etherwoods Death Note OCs Setsuko and her Shinigami Yago, who both star in a, may I say, absolutely fantastic fanfiction he wrote. I have a lot of feelings for them.

and what about things you really don’t like in death note series?
-I don't like the way the female characters are written and treated most times. I think it's pretty clear that Ohba looks down on women and/or has a really hard time understanding them as normal fellow human beings after you read enough of his stuff. I find it the most disappointing and grating aspect of the series by far
-I wish that L's career and Wammy's and the successor stuff was a bit more grounded in reality sometimes, because I love how true-to-life the world for the Japanese characters feels. Some of it is funny and creative, but the disparity in realism between these two parts of the story bothers me a little. And I always find it harder to flesh out the Wammy's characters in plausible ways as a result
-I think Mello's portion of the story trailed off and got pretty confusing to follow after he met up with Near. I kind of wish he had been allowed to do more, and that his actions weren't as repetitive as they felt to me after a bit
-I think the way Light gets caught by Near could have been more symbolically effective and easier to understand as well. I still don't really get the notebook swapping stuff, Mello's final plan, or how Near might have "cheated" at all
-I love how restrained and unsentimental the story is and the complex little mind games and manipulative power plays between everyone. But sometimes it gets a bit exhausting to read SO MUCH DIALOGUE without any little scraps of human feeling to carry us through the deserts. Particularly in the successor arc when everyone is so long-distance and spread out and never, ever in the same room more than once or twice. I know Ohba wasn't setting out to make a soap opera of any sort, but I think a tad bit more personal drama and emotional development might be nice. I definitely wouldn't say no!
