Final.
This infographic is a visualization of my sleep pattern. The data was collected over the course of 14 days.
I have measured 5 variables including time I go to bed, time i get up, time duration of my sleep, quality of my sleep, and mood after sleeping.
14 rings of each day are layered together as a clock to show the time of my sleep.
The start and the end of each ring shows the time i go to bed and time i get up.
The length of circle ring shows the time duration of my sleep in hours.
14 squares of each day stacked here together to show my mood are influenced by quality of sleep everyday.

Today I realize the map of subway, the map of a city or a country, even the location of planet in universe and the movement of planets... All of them are infographics.
So did human being design infographic first, or infographic create us human being?

This map shows how many times I have been to one place in the data collecting time. Each circle ring of place represent one visit. The bigger circle shows more times I have been to somewhere.
It seems there is no connections of sleep and places I go to. I will give up the place variable and keep looking.

Timeline of various schools I have attended so far. I think timeline is the most intuitive graphic to show big changes related to a period of time.
Design and produce a data visualisation or infographic on the time you have spend in various schools.
Data:
Xuzhou No.34 Primary School- 6 years Xuzhou No.34 Middle School - 3 years Xuzhou No.2 High School - 2 years
Westlake Girls High School - 1 year AUT until now

So far I have done some color match experiment in order to find my favorite colors.

Finally I decide the variables to use.
1. Time go to bed
2. Time get up
3. Duration
4. Quality of sleep
5. Mood when get up
I will develop these 2 charts. The most important link variable is the Quality of Sleep, I will use color changes to represent the how deep I sleep. Now it’s the time to choose colors and add more decoration.

Modification on time circular chart.
Today I add the quality variable, which represented by color changes into the time wheel.
Now I can use the QUALITY OF SLEEP variable as the common connection to other variables. What else can relate to quality of sleep?

Another way to create bar chart of mood x days x quality of sleep.
In this chart I use color as the quality how deep I sleep, the 3 groups of bar are made with squares of each day data. This might look boring but can convey more information through simple graphic.

This is what I have done so far.
At first I used the variables of weather and mood but failed - I could not find any relations between these two variables. So I did some modification on the quality chart. I combined the mood variable and quality of sleep together. The quality of sleep may influence mood after sleep very much. Using color changes to show different mood, every little square shows data for each day, and the length of square stacking shows quality of sleep.

In this tape diagram I use symbol “Z” and I draw 4 small graph of eye to represent the shape of quality i sleep. The deeper I sleep, the color goes dark, and the longer the “Z” reach. However, the length of “Z”, the color gradient changes, and shapes of eyes are actually repeating. The next step I will take 1 or 2 of them to simplify, combining with other chart of variables.

In this circular chart I use the start and end of colorful circle ring to clearly represent the time I sleep and get up next day, and the length of the semi-circle ring could shows the duration of my sleep. Every ring represent the data of time of a half day that I sleep in.
I am still looking for the connection between variables and trying to pick up the variables I will use in my final graph.

Practice: Looking for connection between variables
This line chart shows two lines of nap next day or not connected to time of sleep. Through the chart obviously when the time of sleep less than 7.5 hours a day, it has a greater chance to take a nap the next day than time of sleep more than 7.5 hours a day.
This helps me looking for connection between variables and learning to filter out variables with more relevance and importance.

Practice: Bar chart of 2 variables Date and Sleep Duration.
I make each grid of 1 day in X-axies and 1 hour in Y-axis represented. The guide lines at the background show approximate time even without accurate numbers above the bars.

Completed Personal Data Collection
A chart of all of the data I collected over the span of 18 days (13/3/2017 - 30/3/2017).
After analysis of the data I will narrow down these variables that are most relevant and important to my final infographic.

Research about my visualizing information.
Lately I have been looking on the internet in particular Pinterest for some ideas for my data visualisation. After looking online at what is around I have decided that I really like the look of polar grids and radial bar charts. I feel like this would be a interesting and clever way to get across my data information to the viewer. I am going to play around and learn how to make these.

Brainstorm about choosing variables to record at first. The variables for recording for me should be as many as possible, and species of the variables can not be repeated.
