"I'm glad to hear that it's been going smoothly and that you didn't have to deal with loud drunks at all. Wouldn't want it to be harder on you." He gives her a smile before drinking a bit more. It was nice that it was quiet and that he could enjoy himself. Usually he was surrounded by the noise of others when he decided to drink so this was much better.
Layla flashes a smile over her shoulder towards her customer, before centring her focus on the glass she meticulously scrubs to get out a stain. "Pretty good. Having no loud drunks on a Friday night is the mark of a successful evening for me."

Lucas felt himself smile as he listened to the other. "Glad to find someone else who gets it. I'm sure it has made dating harder for me since my job is always at the forefront of my mind." It wasn't like he tried too much but he liked the thought of getting to date. "It's pretty fun. I've met some interesting people and I do love getting to give celebs tattoos. It can be good exposure as well." He hadn't experienced a bad client yet which he was grateful for at the end of the day. "You are too kind. I would appreciate it honestly. I'm all for getting to know you more. I don't have any clients today so we don't have to worry about work getting in the way."
shyne chuckled and gave a nod in agreement, knowing the exact feeling very well himself. "i feel that. i've been married to my work since probably the beginning of getting into writing and journalism." probably should live more outside work, but also it was something he enjoyed doing, so he almost saw no reason to. "oh, wow. that's very interesting. i'm sure you have quite the clients then." shyne's met a few celebs and big names with his journalism job, some nicer that others - some just in bad moods, but he understood with his line of work. "i'm glad. w-would you like a new one? i can buy you one and we can just chat and get to know each other. i'm probably going to call in sick or something. i'm in need of a day off anyway."

Lucas couldn't help but smile a bit. The atmosphere of this place was nice and he loved hearing others attempt karaoke. It was apart of the experience so he wasn't gonna be a wallflower and not participate.
"Honestly. I have a few. Most are songs I heard growing up that I know are perfect for karaoke. Plus there are ones my mom made sure were in Korean so I didn't forget the language."
@alfiearmstrongs
"That's the spirit," Alfie commends, having little patience or understanding for those who chose to hang out in karaoke bars while actively refusing to engage with the karaoke part of it.
( That's what regular bars were for, in his opinion. )
"What songs you got in your catalogue?"

Lucas can't help the grin that spreads across his face as he sipped at his drink. "Gotcha. Won't tell another soul." He mused appreciating that he didn't have to rush at all. He wouldn't take too long though since he had responsibilities to take care of the next day. "How have things been though for you tonight? Nothing too crazy right?"
Starter: open!! (feel free to assume connections) @aurorabaystarter Where: The Reef
It's last call, layla has the routine down for closing time. Preparing her loudest voice to call over the crowd, repeating the same line she'd called every night since working in bars in her 20's. "If you don't work here, sleep here, fuck somebody that works here: finish your drink, pay your tab, tip me 20% and go home." Turning to the familiar face sitting at the bar, Layla quickly flashes a smile. "I'll make an exception for you tonight, take your time. just don't tell anybody."

Lucas nodded as he listened. "I mean I get that. I get overworked a lot. I enjoy my job a ton so you can say I'm married to it in a way." he laughed a bit since he knew it got in the way at times. "Yeah, been a bit of a long day. I'm a tattoo artist. I mostly work with celebrities and other big names." Lucas answered, hoping he didn't sound like he was bragging. "Nope, none at all. Seems the coffee dodged me."
shyne gave a friendly grin to the person he bumped into. "yeah, same here actually. i've been so in my head today. probably a bit overworked because i just - i've been enjoy it, you know?" he admitted with a slight chuckle. "so, long day? also if you don't mind my asking - what do you do for work?" shyne asked curiously as he sipped some on his own coffee. "and please tell me i didn't get any coffee on you."

Lucas loved watching people get tattoos and seeing the art come to life. Plus learning about the reason some people got their tattoos was nice as well. He's heard some great stories about people getting a tattoo due to being too drunk or even due to a dare. It made the profession even more fun in his eyes. "Great! Let's get one of the artists and let them know what you are going to get."
Adile admired the art behind tattoos. It took a ton of skill to be able to draw in general and even more so to take that skill and put it on someone's skin. She really did think that tattoo artists were incredible. As someone with no talent for anything artistic, she was jealous of anyone with any artistic skill. Once upon a time, she thought that she was good at sewing and then she walked around showing her underwear for half a day because the shorts she made had a hole in them. "Hm. Okay, yes. Let's do it."

Lucas knew that back in high school that he made sure to go to prom even with being fully into his studies. It wasn't that big of a deal to him and he had went with someone he had been dating at the time. It made him wonder what the big deal was since prom was shown so much differently in movies. Here he was at another one now as an adult and he felt like he was a sore thumb compared to others. He felt the awkwardness hitting him but he tried not to show it at all. He finds himself in the hallway as he looks around, intrigued by the different thing around the school. "I tried out for soccer once. Didn't make the team at all." he answered as he recalled the memory. "Really? That sucks. I'm sure you wold have been great on the team. Guess they just saw you as more trouble than it was worth."
Status: Open Location: Outside the gym @aurorabaystarter
When Jameson had been in high school, he was essentially banned from attending prom. The last year of school he had tried to better himself. Doing the work that would help him academically and socially but in the end they still just saw a Cassidy which always spelled trouble; Someone to be made an example of. It was why he was somehow still shocked that he wasn’t being immediately thrown out of the dance this time around. He’d arguably been through worse, but it wasn’t high school anymore. Hopefully people changed. Still, he was sitting out in the hallway after a couple drinks and looking at some of the photos and trophies that adorned the cases. “ you ever try out for any sports? “ he asked glancing over. “ I was really good at track but I got put on academic probation so joining a team would have never happened. Honestly I’m shocked the school didn’t put me on a do not enter list out of tradition “

Lucas knew that he had a particular affinity for tattoos and not just because he was a tattoo artist. Something about them were so pretty and he was always ready to convince someone to get one whenever they questioned about doing so. It did make him appreciate that his parents didn't have rules against tattoos. He wouldn't have gotten into the profession otherwise. "Plus you won't sit in the seat too long either which is great in my eyes."
Tattoos had been forbidden in her house—not that Adile ever thought about breaking that rule. She knew her parents would outright disown her for having one back then. It was one of the few rules she didn't dare break. As an adult, she knew she made her own rules, but she had never been good at following rules. A lot of the ones she did follow were the ones that were not actual rules—just guidelines like not missing or being late for work. Mostly rules that would get her in trouble with the law. "That makes sense."

"I am. Born and raised." He mused with a smile on his lips. He couldn't help the way he got flustered a bit at her words. "You should definitely visit sometime. Definitely a lot to do there. I wanted a change of pace and to start somewhere new. I still go back to visit family but I like the more quiet setting here."
"Oh, you're from Australia?" SJ said as she looked at the man, intrigued by the stranger. "That's kinda hot. I've never been there before...What brought you here out of all places? Don't people usually move to big cities when they're from overseas."

Lucas had a go to coffee shop that he loved going to back home but he had gotten used to the ones here in Aurora Bay. It did the job which was to keep him from feeling like a zombie so he couldn't complain. "It's decent and does the job. I get that though. I compared it to the coffee I used to get back home in Australia." he answered back to the other beside him.

"This ain't Dunks, but I guess it'll have to do." SJ mumbled to herself as she browsed the menu at the coffee shop. Typically, she was always on the go and the Dunkin on Main St was the place to hit for an iced coffee while running errands. "Is the coffee any good here? It's a little pricier than my usual cup so I'm already judging." the blonde said to the person waiting in line with her.

Usually Lucas was too engrossed in work that he didn't find the time to do things like participate in an escape room but here he was. He could feel the panic wanting to set in but he had to remain calm.
"Hey, no need to yell! Let's just calm down." He knew that if they went down that route, they wouldn't get anywhere and time would run out for sure. His eyes glanced over everything, looking towards the symbols, he wondered if their was something that could help.
"Maybe backtracking a bit would help. I'm sure there's something here that will help us figure out the meaning." He looked through one of the books around, trying to see if something would correlate.

The countdown clock on the wall was mocking Andy. It stared down over the little room they were trapped in judgmentally as she glared at a sequence of symbols that would lead to the last key that would get them out of his godforsaken torture chamber.
"I don't know what these things mean! Why the shit did I think that this would be fun!"

"You're welcome." Lucas found himself smiling as he looked around more. He always loved seeing fellow artists. Sure he focused more on putting his art onto his clients but that didn't stop his love for the work of others. "I couldn't agree more. Plus they'd definitely appreciate some new art supplies." He knew that the better supplies were more costly and if he could help in some way with buying a piece, he would. Anything to help others pursue their dreams. "I'm not pressured at all. I want to show support and I'm all for taking one of the art pieces for myself."
"Thank you." Gianna smiled at the compliment. The more compliments she received for her work, the less nervous she felt about other people taking a look. It was nice to have her work be genuinely appreciated by other locals in town. "I figured it would be a good help to the department and the kids there. They are insanely talented and unfortunately art supplies are anything but cheap." She was fortunate to live a life where she didn't have to worry about the cost of pursuing her dream. But this wasn't a reality for a lot of people and she was well aware of that. The woman tried to give back as much as she could, as well as support other talents who were just trying to pave their path in the arts like her. "Please don't feel pressured, but it will in fact support a good cause."

Hearing this caused Lucas to cock his head to the side. Was flowers really the way to go for this? He wondered and needed more answers or to see if there was different ideas. "Are we sure flowers should be given to them after that? Do they understand the different meanings that flowers can convey? I wonder if there are other things out there that could convey your words much easier." Maybe something more straight forward but Lucas never dealt with something like that.

Lucas didn't even realize what he said was funny at all, noticing the other's expression. Guess he should think before he speaks but he knows that won't happen. That's true. They definitely had a ton of liquid courage to go up there and sing like that. He saw too many people getting more confident after a drink and it always made him wonder. Thinking carefully, Lucas gave a nod. "I might. Have a few songs I could attempt to sing to and hope I don't sounds like a mess up there." @alfiearmstrongs
Lucas' words make it harder for him not to laugh, holding back the sound while his expression gave it all away anyway.
"I think the confidence might have something to do with the glass in their hand they're decorating the stage with."
It's hard to tell what the beverage of choice was from where he sat but he could see plain as day the way it's contents swished over the edge of the glass and doused the stage at every upbeat in the chorus.
"Are you getting up there next?"

Lucas knew he wasn't too spontaneous at all and he liked certain things being the same in his life. Tattoos were more permanent which made sense that he took on the career of being a tattoo artist. Plus he enjoyed getting to meet different people and see their ideas for what tattoos they want. Though he understood that tattoos had to be thought over since they were there forever and getting them laser removed could be an uncomfortable experience. "Color is scary and takes longer. So I say outlines are the way to go."
Adile did not like the concept of permanence. She felt that she was like water or a leaf in the wind. Going wherever she pleased, allowing other's decisions to take her places. She was happy with her life like that—not worrying about the future that wasn't guaranteed was a lot easier for her. Adile had always liked the idea of a tattoo, but once you got one, you couldn't easily get rid of it. She didn't like the thought of walking around the rest of her life with something on her skin she hated. But being spontaneous was something she was good at. "Exactly," she nodded, glad that someone agreed because not everyone did. "Yeah, they do and I don't know color is scary."

Lucas had been just wandering around the flower festival when all the artwork caught his eyes. He couldn't help but scan his eyes over them a bit before he glanced towards the one running the booth. He let himself smile back, trying not to let his nerves get to him.
"Hello. They all look amazing and I love that they go to a good cause. I just might have to bring one one to put in my home." he always like when people donated money. It was so generous and just made him wanna help out in some way. He looked back at the paintings, trying to see all he could before he decided on one to buy.

To say that Gianna was nervous would be an understatement. While art had been her passion for as long as she could remember, it wasn't until the last year that she had started gaining confidence showcasing her work. This was her first time having her own booth at the flowers festival --and that alone had her stomach doing somersaults. As someone approached, she set down her drink and greeted with a warm smile.
"Hi! Feel free to look and let me know if you have any questions -or if any of the paintings catches your eyes. All the proceeds are being donated to the high school art club...No pressure." she added with a light chuckle.

Lucas always wondered what Roman's thoughts were deep down. He got that having a certain amount of fame was a lot especially when you didn't know who to trust. He never saw the other that way and enjoyed getting to talk to him especially during tattoo appointments. "True. I don't have an ulterior motives at all. I just like giving you tattoos." he laughed a bit after he spoke. "Oh true and we wouldn't want you or a stylist to have to do that." He could imagine it would get annoying having to spend a few hours covering up a tattoo due to certain roles. Plus who enjoyed covering their tattoo? He didn't and he showed off his tattoos for everyone to see if he could.
——- Running his fingers through his hair for a moment, a chuckle escape with a bit of a nervous undertone. there was so much running through the actor's mind — he wanted to enjoy connecting with people but how could he not feel used when he was in acting ? at least he had lucas. ❝ well — i have you, so that's something, right ? ❞ he spoke in a low voice before flashing one of his infamous flirty smiles to the tattoo artist. it was all in his nature to just flirt a bit with anyone he could — that he knew was single, of course. ❝ depending on the makeup, it's not too bad. though the more tattoos i have — that story is bond to change when i have to spend hours just covering them. ❞ the brit chuckled some and due to this it's why he refused any on his hands even if the itch was there for a few of them.
