Steve Harrington x female!reader 

An ice skating date with his favourite girl

A/n: bf!steve 

Warnings: kissing

Word count: 0.8k

It didn’t matter that his hands were frozen, that the snow covered ground was making his shoes wet, that his scarf had gotten caught on a branch and torn, watching his pretty girl skating around on the frozen lake was worth freezing to death in his eyes. 

Any time she spun around on the thick ice he cheered her on, she wasn’t perfect but considering Steve couldn’t even skate in a straight line to him she was wonderful. It was just like one of those snow globes that had an ice skater inside that went round and round in circles, you couldn’t not watch in amazement. 

She skated closer to the edge of the lake, right where Steve was, his hands behind him, pressing into the white snow, he could’ve stayed sitting there until he turned into a snowman for all he cared. She tilted her head to the side, shaving the ice as she came to a stop. 

She thought the icy lake looked prettier untouched, but the little spirals she had left behind were changing her mind. And in a way Steve had changed her mind, he was the one who had brought her skates and carried them the whole way after all.  

She looked him over, he looked pretty in the golden sun, surrounded by the sparkling snow, she almost wished she had brought a camera because if there was ever a picture to sum up her boyfriend this was it. 

She placed her hand on her hips, a habit she had picked up from the same boy looking up at her now. “Aren't you bored Stevie?” He had never once complained about doing anything with her but she still felt it was right to check that he wasn't losing his mind a little, she would never want him to become tired of her, even if that meant spending time alone. 

“Me?” Steve looked around, as if there was anyone else she could’ve directed her question to but unless she was talking to the robins in the trees or the deer deep into the woods, she was talking to him. She rolled her eyes at him, just enough to make him smirk. “I could never be bored with you.”

He tugged on her open coat, pulling her down with him, his hands settling on her hips as her knees hit the snow rather hard. She wanted to complain, to whine about how he had accidentally hurt her and pout like a puppy, but then he kissed her. Which she realised had been the entire intention of bringing her down to him and because of that she couldn’t help smile into the kiss, even if her knees ached just a little. 

“That was utterly unfair Steve Harrington.” She balanced her hands on his shoulder, pulling back until he would have to strain his neck just to kiss her. He deserved nothing less for making her fall than to have the ability to kiss her until she forgot about it taken away.

He actually looked shocked for a moment, a little disheartened too. She had been so warm, so soft to kiss, he imagined the second he hid his face away in her neck he wouldn't feel the cold anymore. Plus he would be drowning in that sweet vanilla perfume she used this time of year.

“What was I supposed to do, huh?” He tried to pull her back but she wasn’t having it, her legs were freezing and it was all his fault. It didn’t matter how pretty his lips looked, how good his hands felt against her sides, she wasn’t going to give in. “Not kiss you?” He tilted his head to the side and pouted and she was gone that very second, nothing in her was strong enough to fight Steve’s please forgive me eye’s. “That would be too cruel.”

His hands slipped under her top, his fingertips were freezing against her skin but she was cold all over now so it didn't matter so much. She quickly kissed him, the kind of kiss that you gave in a crowded room, not at all how Steve liked to kiss her. 

She was back on her feet, skates denting into the snow, making her a little unbalanced until she stepped back into the ice. With her hands behind her back, she skated away from him, like she was asking him to follow her if he wanted a real kiss. 

Steve glanced at his skates and considered his options. She had brought them for him, she wanted him to get into it as she said. He skated a little when he was a kid, ice hockey, that sort of thing but he hadn't touched the ice in years. 

But his girl looked so pretty right now, all twirly and sparkling on the ice, doing her little spins and waiting for him. So he took his shoes off, untying his laces only to have to tie the laces of his skates up just seconds after. It didn’t matter that he said he was just going to watch, he desperately needed to properly kiss his girl until her tongue was frozen against his.
