I refuse to believe that a boy with a metal leg, sitting on a saddle with metal bits, riding a dragon that could summon lightning has never been struck by lightning soooo...yuh

So... let's talk Mentor Viggo.
tl;dr at the bottom
Wherein Stoick bemoans his son's interest in gadgetry rather than the warrior arts to Gobber during a chief meeting and is overheard by the chief of the dragon hunters, Viggo's grandfather, who offers to take Hiccup under his wing in order to 'straighten him up'. Stoick, desperate for his son to act like a Viking, agrees to have the Dragon Hunters foster him.
Having arrived on the dragon hunter island, the dragon hunter chief confesses that he was intrigued by Hiccup's 'hobby' and shows him to his grandson. Viggo instantly takes Hiccup under his wing upon introduction. 'Like minds attract one another', he would say. Viggo Grimborn knew instantly that Hiccup Haddock was a thinker, a child with a mind far beyond its time with skills being wasted and taken for granted in his village. But not Viggo, no. He wanted to nurture his young mind, feed his ingenuity. And Hiccup, for the first time in his life, is being praised for his mind, his tinkering, and it's like he's been walking in a desert his whole life and he'd just tasted water for the first time.
Viggo's approval was something addicting, something young Hiccup always chased. He made bola shooters, intricate traps, durable cages, anything and everything that the dragon hunter tribe could use in the field. Hiccup didn't feel like a hiccup, he felt like a hero of his own story. Through the Dragon Hunters and his inventions, Hiccup felt like he was battling dragons himself.
His life changed when he met a Night Fury.
Suddenly, his purpose was unclear, muddled with doubt and empathy for the dragon's plight. He decided to stop all his projects and return to Berk for good. This did not sit well with Viggo at all. How could it? To Viggo, Hiccup had just thrown years of trust and friendship like it was nothing. The boy who Viggo had treated as his own brother, just decided that he's had enough. And when the truth came to light of Hiccup consorting with the beasts, well, never let it be said Viggo Grimborn let a traitor go unpunished.
tl;dr : Viggo takes Hiccup under his wing when he was young, where he builds dragon traps for his tribe and ultimately is the reason for the Dragon Hunter Tribe's reputation of being the most feared hunters in the archipelago. The events of HTTYD 1 happen, Hiccup has a change of heart and cut ties with the dragon hunters, and so the whole plot of RTTE becomes a lot more personal.

Jesus. Considering how expensive they were that’s pretty pathetic.
I'm actually REALLY pissed that the Keychains can't be used as real keychains because even though they were expensive, they are cheaply made and haven't been sealed with anything so the things I spent a lot of fucking money on are CHIPPED in the paint because it's some kind of super thin top coat and I'm THIS fucking close to demanding a refund.

I've had them on my keys for a week. Don't fucking buy them unless you're planning on finding a way to seal them and even then beware they apparently bleed if you don't seal it just right.
