Susan eats the second fewest, not because she has the most self-control, but because she spends forty minutes roasting each marshmallow to a perfect, even golden-brown

Peter eats the first fewest, because he gets so busy making s'mores for his baby sister he forgets to make them for himself. Compensates by scarfing a bunch of raw marshmallows and chocolate when they get ready to pack it in

the reason Lucy doesn't roast her own marshmallows is not because she doesn't want to, btw. Her older siblings just no longer trust her around fire.

Edmund gets impatient and sets his marshmallows on fire. Peter and Susan tried to ban him from roasting duty as well, but he kept eating his way through their chocolate supply while waiting, so they gave up. Also ends up absolutely covered in melted chocolate and marshmallow

at first, Caspian keeps either charcoaling his marshmallow or dropping it into the fire and then making the saddest most heart-broken face, while Peter offers to roast his marshmallows for him, too, and Caspian stubbornly refuses with tears in his eyes. Finally gets the hang of it and is so proud of himself even though his marshmallows and his fingers always come out a bit singed.

Eustace cannot eat s'mores because they're too messy. (yes i will give him sensory issues if i want. rereading/watching dawn treader as an adult was an absolutely blinding experience of "oh this boy is not neurotypical, is he".) Eustace sits to one side delicately nibbling graham crackers while he and Lucy critique everyone else's marshmallow roasting technique.

Jill is a big fan of the "repeatedly set it on fire and pull off just the charcoaled outside to eat" school of roasting. Eustace thinks she's ought to be arrested for crimes against civilization.

The marshmallows are very large compared to Reepicheep but he will not let that stop him! The perfect s'more is a noble and honorable quest that he shall never shirk from! It does not matter how many times he gets impatient or distracted and accidentally lets his marshmallow be consumed by the flames! He will emerge victorious! (He does, in fact, emerge victorious. And also very sticky.)

(a gooey, melting s'more is a lot for one small mouse to eat. even if it's technically only half a s'more because chocolate is bad for mice)

I bet Mr. Tumnus makes the best s'mores you've ever had. Perfectly browned but never burned marshmallows, exactly the right ratio of marshmallow to chocolate to graham cracker even though he's using the exact same supplies as everyone else, and he keeps you laughing and gasping and distracted by the story he is telling as he hands it to you, so by the time you eat it everything's gooey and melted but cooled down enough it doesn't burn your mouth. Also takes it upon himself to supply Lucy with s'mores, and both he and Peter are so adorable about it even Susan only half-heartedly tries to hold them back. Lucy certainly doesn't. Lucy is spoiled and delighted and consuming a truly questionable amount of sugar
