if you have "original characters do not interact" or some form of anti-original character language in your rules... you are weak and will not survive the winter. you're missing out on unbelievably inventive characters created by your deeply passionate peers. you're missing out on so many types of interactions and unique perspectives not found in current mainstream media and the content it produces. there are so many talented people in the rpc with amazing original characters, and you're just writing them off for no reason. what a shame.

Everything went from 0 to 100 faster than Limbo could keep up with. First she's mumbling gibberish - plant names? - and then, she's hit with the jarring realization that she's on the Grand Line. How does one just accidentally end up on the Grand Line?

It comes to a head, though, upon notice of her ship's flag. Limbo's eyes widen and she's quick to hold up her hands in the universal sign of unarmed surrender.

🎲;; "Whoa, hey, hold on there. No one's offing anyone! Look, Hikari... yeah, okay, I'm a pirate. I'm a pirate in the very barest sense. Rich people don't like me cuz I have a habit of findin' all their little gambling holes and cleaning house, and the government sure loves to brand everyone it doesn't like as a pirate. So why the hell not embrace it?"

There was a glimmer in her eye as a smile touched her lips, and she fell into a more relaxed pose.

She tried to rise, try to instinctively pull a weapon from her satchel, but all that was in her hands was a worm on a string toy that was loose in her bag. Certainly not a threatening sight. She lets out a frustrated snarl and, gently, shoves the little bastard back into the leather side bag and pulls out a pale orange multitool. She flicks it open, and aims the very gatito-blade-esque portion at Limbo. She's terrified, but oddly enough, the terror doesn't seem fully directed at her.

"Who the fuck're you--?"

🎲;; "Yeah, they. The, uh... the folks who run the casino strip on the other side of the island. I kinda broke the bank, so they ain't happy with me, hyehe." Limbo offered a sheepish grin as they made their way down - but when Hikari pointed out her Log Pose, she grinned and gave her wrist a little wiggle.

🎲;; "Yeah, first rule of navigating the Grand Line, baby: ya need a Log Pose. Any other old compass is gonna twist and turn like nobody's business, so ya gotta nab one of these, fast. You tellin' me you made it all the way out here without one?"

That cove was coming into view, with a small-crew ship anchored just off the shore. A black flag flew at the tip of its mast, bearing a winking skull that held a coin in its teeth.

When she stood, so did Limbo - rising to her full height, the heavy thunk of wood on wood returned - ah, that was why. Standing up now, her left leg from the knee down was nonexistent, a hard, solid peg in its place. The taller of the two held out her arm, giving Hikari something to hold and lean on after she'd toppled gracelessly onto the sand.

🎲;; "Easy now, I gotcha," Limbo said quietly, helping Hikari stand. "Yeah, just eastwards. I was plannin' on shippin' out later tonight, there's... nooooot much else left for me on this island. Gotta get movin' to the next before they realize I'm still here."

...with her arm around her, it was now much easier to see the odd glass ball affixed to her wrist with what appeared to be a compass needle suspended in its center. Sure as hell didn't have compasses like that down in the South Blue.

...oh. As luck would have it, her little treats were kept fresh. Must be a damn good sealed tin. Limbo accepted happily - given the circumstances, there was basically no chance of them being poisoned or anything. Lemon lavender... good choice.

🎲;; "...tell you what," Limbo said softly, after a cookie-nibble, "I have a ship anchored in a small cove just east of here. I don't think a creaky, musty old shipwreck is gonna do your brain any good if ya stay here, and maybe gettin' some stability under your feet will help jog your juice a li'l bit. Sound like a plan...?"

After a few moments, she offered a small bit of further assurance.
