“You will find Bubaigawara-kun-“ He wasn’t expecting to see the doubling-villain, but he wasn’t surprised to have come across him. Nodt knew that Twice would disrupt his calm, perhaps even disrupt his own quirk. Does fear supersede annoyance? Nodt turned his body, unnaturally twisting to face the masked villain. “-that you are far from stitched back together.”

( DEAD )
Your………..
………..FAULT
The words hit her like a BULLET, her breath halted; her thorax cavity began to tighten as his words hung heavily over her head. Hands curled into fists as she hung her head, trembling. NO! He had to be LYING, there was no way that Yūshirō was DEAD. Surely he had to be wrong, right? ❝ No….. ❞ Her words fell from parted lips, barely a whisper. The strong & confident woman was shaken down to her core. This had to be some tactic to try & get in her head. She would KNOW if he had died, someone would have come found her; or she would simply have an intuition about it. There was a pause, as she stood there SEETHING. ❝ NO! ❞ This time her voice filled with RAGE, she wanted to RAGE against the very GODS who would dare take her brother’s life. If he were truly dead as this man said, she WOULD RAGE, rage against him, rage against the GODS, rage against the earth, rage against HEAVEN & HELL.
❝ YOU’RE WRONG! THERE IS NO WAY HE IS DEAD! ❞ She hollered vehemently, her words dripping with anger & venom. Golden hues rose to look at the other, irises reflecting nothing but anger & disgust. Your fault. Your fault. YOUR FAULT. Try as she might, the words still rang throughout her mind; crashing into her cerebral cortex like tidal waves. Her mind was an ocean raging against the eye of a storm. ❛ Move dammit! ❜ The command of her thoughts interrupted the storm that was raging within her. Hesitantly she moved forward, running at the other with all the speed & strength she could muster.
“And what will you do know? a fate worse than death befell the head of your house. your beloved Yuushirou.”
As Nodt couldn’t take her in a contest of speed, his Blut Vene could withstand most of her attacks, but even in a distressed state, she was an enormous threat to him. He prepared to gouge her with his heilig pfeil, they spun around, encircling him in thorns of light. Just one prick would be enough to launch her into a realm of terror and despair. Just as he’d done to Byakuya Kuchiki. “Help me... onee-chan he wailed.”

“Word of advice, from one mask to another-” Montauk recognized the mask, the eight precepts of death and their beak-masks. He didn’t know who the man was, but he’d been approached by members before - he had a cursory knowledge of their goals. “Fear can only be remembered when it’s learned that quirks can’t protect them.”

She FROZE in her tracks, eyes widening at the mention of HER BROTHER’S name. How did he know that? She knew NOTHING of the man standing before her & yet, he knew about her brother. She couldn’t let him get to her, that would be a MISTAKE. Surely there was a reason as to why he knew not only her name but the name of her little brother. Golden hues peered at him for a LONG moment before she shook her head; a gesture meant to clear her mind.
❝ None of yer DAMN business. Yer fight is with me, you should be worrying more about yerself than someone who is of LITTLE concern to you. ❞ She spat vehemently, moving so that she was behind him, leg extended back & swiftly moving forward towards his spikes. She wasn’t SURE what they were but to get to him she felt as though she had to DESTROY them. Yet, the seeds of doubt had been planted, try as she might to IGNORE it, worry had crept its way into her marrow.
Don’t you know, Yoruichi-chan? He’s already dead.” A tactical lie, the boy had already escaped before any of the sternritter could find him. It was important to goad her, As Nodt couldn’t keep up with her speed. If he could goad her into infecting herself with his fear, he could have free reign to destroy her as he pleased. He smiled in what ever way he could, devilish glee manifesting behind his empty black eyes. “And it’s your fault.”

Rumi didn’t notice him approaching until it was too late. Heavy boots a dull sound to her, drowned out from irrational fear that was on the brink of swallowing her whole. He was only a few feet away when she realized he was even closer, head shooting upwards and her mistake was making eye contact.
Blood ran cold, and body felt heavy. Ruby eyes forced to stare at the other, grimacing. What was he talking about, her father? She was a hero! He’d be proud, they all would be. She was doing just great, she was…right? Fear overriding her thoughts, mind running rampant with the thoughts of being a disappointment, disapproving gazes that were more than enough to crush her heroic spirits.
The pressure was becoming too much! She couldn’t stand it! A strangled yell escaped her throat, her leg shot out from under her, aiming a kick at the other’s chest but her sudden spunk was diminished, movements slowed from her hesitance. She could feel her eyes start to water, Miruko wiped furiously at her face to stop it, all too desperate for this guy to go away.
❝S-stop it… What do you want from me?!❞
“This society is an abomination Rumi-Chan” The man was all but upon her now, his looming frame stood over her, his features wreathed in shadow. His bony appendages reached down, into an opening in his trench-coat. From which he slowly retrieved a short knife, brandishing it toward the hero.
“If the people do not remember fear then it will crumble!”
#stompquirk#v: fearo#something about his motivation being reminding super heroes to be afraid or something

A displeased look crossed sun-kissed features, watching carefully as the reishi thorn sprouted from the spike on his mask. Though she had made CONTACT with him, he didn’t appear all that INJURED. Nor did he fight back against her attack. However, she was not so naïve that she would LOWER her guard. ❝ No? ❞ She inquired, head tilting to the side as golden orbs glared down at the other, her expression matching his; a gaze sharp as daggers. She had EXPECTED him to put up more of a fight, though she supposed that it could be a ruse; a mere trick in order to get her to LOWER her guard & then strike when there was an opening.
❝ You were wrong to come here, you will die a dog’s death in the Sereitei. ❞ She stated, speaking to the other in a rather condescending manner. She was UNSURE WHY the Quincys decided to ATTACK she merely figured they surely had PENT UP RAGE against the Shinigami.
❝ Ready or not, here I come. ❞ She warned, once again using her SPEED to her advantage. All that was left of her movements was an afterimage of where the woman had once stood.
“The only one who can kill me, is the Emperor.”
The man stood up, his body being loosely lead by his head, unnaturally slithering into a shape vaguely resembling a human being. The thorns he produce began to divide, surrounding him in an array of spikes - there was no way he could keep up with her. As Nodt just had to lure her in, she would succumb, just as all others. “Yoruichi-chan, where is Yushirou?”

🐾 // ACCEPTING
Golden hues narrowed as the Shinigami looked at the male standing before her. To her, he REEKED of Quincy. ❝ Tch, did you really think that you would SO EASILY be able to trespass in the Sereitei? ❞ She inquired vehemently, using her speed to disappear for a brief moment; an afterimage was all that was left of her. She did not KNOW what he was capable of, but she did KNOW that her friends & the souls of Soul Society were in danger the longer he stood there. Soon enough the female appeared above him, a deadly determination reflected in her gaze. Her fist was drawn back, ready to collide with him.
She was too fast, his hirenkyaku wouldn’t be enough for him to get out of her way. The impact kicked up a cloud of smoke, As Nodt slithered back, writhing about the ground before landing in a slump. His blut was strong enough to leave him mostly undamaged, but his bones creaked and cracked as he twisted on the pavement. “No no no no no no no NO̴ N҉O̧̨ .” She wasn’t supposed to be here. The quincy craned his head up to glare at the woman, a reishi thorn sprouting from the spike on his mask.

This isn’t funny anymore. Fake grin peels away, becoming an angered look as her teeth clenched tightly, eyes avoiding further contact. But that wasn’t enough, that feeling still sinking like a stone. She hated it, she really did.
❝Shut. Up.❞ That was all she could manage momentarily, taking a feeble step back to gain more of a distance between her and… whatever the hell this thing was. In response to this growing feeling, her anger sparked. She couldn’t attack first. This could be a civilian.
❝Who the hell are you?! You better start talking, before I punt your head like a soccer ball!❞
“That wouldn’t be very heroic, Rumi-chan.” His skeletal form creaked as he stepped forward, his heavy boots echoing on the pavement beneath him. Montauk extended his arms, reaching out as if to embrace the woman, his eyes frantically dancing in their sockets. “What would your father say?”

“Hero villain hero villain.” The cutting whispers crawled over the air, skittering to any one who would listen. Any poor wannabe hero who’s own nature was a villainous one. Montauk gibbered behind his mask, his unblinking black eyes fixated on the young Shinso Hitoshi. “Who will take you with such an evil quirk?”

“Do you feel nothing hollow? Do you feel hollow?” It wasn’t often the quincy came across a hollow, especially one who’s power was so obviously comparable to his own. If he were any one else, he would be offended. There he stood, his gaunt form looming over the white sands of hueco mundo, his empty eyes glaring at the espada. “Where is your heart, Ulquiorra?”

Such a sick feeling, coming up like bile in her throat that the Rabbit Hero had to swallow down. She couldn’t place it, this feeling of dread that crawled up her back like a spider, it was only until his voice could be heard that she looked around for it, finally narrowing her eyes at the form of Montauk.
Sweat accumulated on her brow, not understanding why she felt like this. Knock it off. You have no reason to be scared. She managed a grin, masking her growing fear, body tensing as if he was going to attack.
❝Huh? Sorry pal, not taking any autographs right now… What can I do for you, eh…?❞
“Auto graph?” He could sense her trepidation, the uncertainty of her words, how hard she tried to conceal her frightened affect. His posture regained rigidity, a tall and gaunt silhouette against the setting sun. “Don’t you remember me? I am with you, always, Rumi-chan.”
#stompquirk#v: fearo#and of course I misspelled presence#embarassing#do you have any fear based headcanons Nodt can exploit?#We only saw Rumi very briefly in the manga so far right?

“Fear? You wanna make people feel fear? You look like a hot topic ad.” Unfortunately, Monoma’s fear response shorted out years ago.
“Hopefully the police will arrest your creep ass.” He dials, holding the phone up to his ear and holding a finger up to their face.
“Be a dear and be quiet while I’m on the phone, okay?”
“That won’t do that won’t do won’t do won’t do. When they arrive, I will inflict fear upon them as well all it takes is a touch.”

“Cotton tail cotton tail cotton tail cotton tail cotton tail Usagiyama Rumi...” Montauk basked in the precense of the number-five-hero. Tap into the primal fear of all heroes and strike at the core of this society. Spread fear to the corners of this fearless society. “I finally found you, Cotton Tail.”

Maybe he’d finally cracked.
Maybe this was another bout of night terrors.
Or maybe he had a bona fide stalker on his trail– and that was enough to make him respond.
“Then go to a fucking book club instead of accosting random teens in the street, you creep. I’m calling the cops if you get any closer.”
“What will the police do, Monoma-kun?” His face relaxed as he stepped closer to the young man, his boots making loud noises against the pavement through the silence. “How will this place know fear if the heroes aren’t quashed?”

“Mo no ma kun...” He could see the young hero in training, he could see him with his eyes. Monoma Neito was alone. Montauk stepped from the shadows, his empty eyes searching wildly for the young man. “I am lonely Monoma-kun.”

@stolequirks
Montauk preferred to work alone. It worked better for him, when surrounded by a bunch of over the top villains, it tended to interfere with his ability. His black eyes darted around in his sockets, searching from where the overwhelming pressure was coming from - when they found their target, he understood what was happening. “I have no use for the league.” He was no fool, he could tell who All For One was based entirely on the legends spread about him. Having been previously approached by Shiguraki and declining him, Montauk figured the man in charge would contact him next.
#stolequirks#v: fearo#I'll probably always refer to him as montauk in my bnha verse because as nodt has umlauts and I can't make those with my keyboard
