Personal Project, Third Shoot. Static Dress - The Garage Attic.

I photographed three different bands during my third shoot - these being Slowmove, Jools and Static Dress. I really like the outcome of my images from the first two bands, though I feel that my photos from the headlining band lacked in what I originally wanted to achieve. The Garage Attic is a very small venue with no photo pit for photographers, this was also a close to sold out show. Shooting in these circumstances meant I was cramped into a small space with a large amount of people, leaving me a small amount of space to move around in.

Personal Project, Second Shoot. Against the Current - King Tuts.

My second shoot consisted of three bands - Half Lives, Yours Truly and Against the Current. For this shoot, I mainly focused on capturing the passion of the musicians and snapping some shots showing both the musician and crowd in one. I personally feel like I need some more practice with the crowd shots and the way I edit them too as not much light is usually hitting the crowd, this is something I could definitely learn more about with the help of google and YouTube.

Personal Project, First shoot. Fatherson - Mash House.

Within my first shoot, my main goal was to take photographs from the crowd to make the viewer feel as though they were there with me. The Mash House was a good venue to try this in as there is no barrier or photo pit, meaning I had to take all my images from in the crowd. This can be hard in some venues as the rules may include only shooting in the photo pit, luckily this wasn't the case. 

In my plan, I also mentioned I would like to find my style and try out blown out highlights. Once trying this in my first shoot, I really enjoyed the soft feeling it added to my images and will continue to practice this whilst optimising my upcoming photoshoots. 

I originally went into this shoot assuming there would be 1-2 support bands alongside the main band, though because it was an album release gig - the band didn't have any support acts. This has caused a slight issue as I created my plan with the mindset of shooting multiple bands in one night, this shouldn't have any affect on my final images since I have applied for extra shoots incase I run into any problems like this.

Personal Project - Timetable Update

Below I have updated my timetable with yellow highlights to show which tasks I have completed so far. My third shoot titled ‘Keshi - The Garage’ is now highlighted in grey as this was unable to get confirmation of a photo pass. I have now added in ‘Blue Nicotine - Ivory Blacks’ as a backup shoot in replacement to this, highlighted as green to show.
