Its a few week overnight camp, the only experiences in that field I have are going on school camps and going camping a lot growing up so do you think that would be good to bring up? or would it be irrelevant? Like I said it would be my first real job so I don’t know much😭 But even if I don’t get it i’m glad for this learning opportunity and again- thank you so much!!

that would be amazing to bring up! when they ask experience don’t say “oh i’ve just camped growing up”, make it seem like you’re damn near a pro , express your love for the outdoors and if you went with someone younger than you, maybe you can consider that experience with taking care of others as well 👀 interviews are your one chance to be cocky in life!! sell yourself baby , don’t downplay what you’re capable of. goodluck!! lmk how it goes. ❤️

hai this is so random and if you dont wanna post that its okay! But i have my first job interview tomorrow for a camp counseling position can I ask for some advice? Im so nervous the only other interview i’ve done is to volunteer at my animal shelter and I didnt have to do much talking for that😭 anything is appreciated!! I have no one else in my life to ask lmfaoo

you just made me bust out the laptop... my mom works in a high position in a bank and I was raised to know how to sell myself. i can do an interview in my sleep and I've never had an in person interview that i didn't get.

I wish I knew what kind of camp counseling, but be ready to tell them why you are fit to take care of others. DO NOT walk in and say "I have babysitting experience", everyone does! Walk in and say "I am CPR certified" (as you should be as a camp counselor), "I am good in high stress situations" and "my highest priority is my care for my kids/students."

be as personable as you can be. bring up your experience as the oldest sibling/middle/youngest sibling. try to relate to them as much as you can.

if you are applying to an animal shelter again, they want you to know animal body language. you can go online and search which questions they will ask vet assistants. you will be asked what the signs of a stressed animal is, what preventions you should be using for your animals and which vaccines do what. BE EDUCATED!

I have a ton more advice and you can message me or send me another ask for the rest, but they WILL ask what your weakness is. the absolute key to that question in an interview is to turn a negative into something positive. when I go to interviews and they ask me that I say, "im so driven to take on so many things that I can sometimes overwhelm myself with all of the thing on my plate." I make myself appear so driven that it causes negative effects. turn your negative into a positive!!

PSA to the SSRI friends!! : please know that some medications make us extremely intolerable to heat!! it’s harder to regulate your body temperature when you are on SSRI’s so please stay hydrated and take care of yourselves! there has been a crazy heat wave these past couple of days and i’ve been really struggling, so i just wanted to share incase anyone didn’t know this about our anti-depressants/mood stabilizers. be safe and enjoy summer 🩷🌞
