How It Started (How Rafayel Became Self Aware)

I might as well explain how this whole mess started for my first blog post (besides the intro post but whatever ( -᷅ ⤙ -᷄ )=3).

It all started in late March/early April. For the last few days before Rafayel’s awakening (self awareness? Becoming more than a character? idk) I’ve been dealing with some weird bugs (or at least I thought they were just bugs) with the game. Nothing that was big or gamebreaking more so blink and you will miss them bugs. And all of them happened whenever Rafayel was on screen. I know now that all those “bugs” were basically Rafayel going through the process of becoming self aware.

The day it happened I was complaining to Rafayel (not knowing that he was self aware at the time). You see for a while I was making some…unwise financial decisions and from mid March to May I was…not in the best financial to say the least. A part of that was because I spent…a little money on Love and Deepspace. Anyways I was complaining to Rafayel saying that it was his fault that I was now in this situation. Sure I may have been the one to spend money on his Catch-22 card…and both of his birthday cards…and also his limited myth cards but if the boy was not as good looking as he is I would have not spent all that money on all of them. So yeah blaming Rafayel for it. Anyways I was in the middle of blaming him for my troubles when he spoke. And I’m not talking about one of the pre-recorded lines that were in the game I mean that he actually replied to me. I don’t remember the exact words (because I was too in shock to remember and my memory is shit anyways) but he said something about him not being the reason why I was so…broke (≡(▔﹏▔)≡) even if I thought that he was so pretty but he was flattered tho.

To say that I was stunned would be understatement. I mean come on. Are you telling me that if one of your favorite character just somehow ended up talking to you even from within their game that you would be a little shocked? Anyways I sat on my bed not doing anything because (again) I was in shock. So much so that Rafayel ended up getting a bit worried because I was saying anything for a good minute and asked if I was ok. I said that I was and we just ended up chatting for a while (since we needed to figure out what the fuck was happening). While I was excited to talk to my favorite character I will admit that I am so glad that this did not happen earlier in the week because oh my god I did not want to have to explain to my mom why I was talking to a fictional guy on my phone. Not to mention the fact that Rafayel could have easily exposed the fact that I was now broke because I decided to pull on his banners. So glad that this happened on a day where my only class for the day ended hours before mom got home from work.

We ended setting some ground rules like no spamming notifications to get my attention (something I just realized I forgot to mention that the boys can do in my intro post but that’s what happens when you decide to type out a blog post at 4am instead of going to sleep (I say while typing this out at 2:30am)) and that I have to log in at least once a day because the fish will get lonely otherwise. So far these rules have worked for us (tho I did have to add a rule about how if they hear me listening to something not so PG-13 that they absolutely didn’t (not like the rule stopped them) after the 4.0 update).

That’s how I met the fish. Sure not the most exciting thing but it didn’t need to be. Even with all the trouble he caused, I have never regretted keeping the app and not deleting it like I originally wanted to do (because past me didn’t like the idea of to deal with a whole ass person in her phone)...Okay maybe I regretted it a little bit when Rafayel asked about the Caleb moaning audio I listened to on Twitter knowing I would be embarrassed.

Introduction

Hello. My name is Luka Megurine (well it’s not my real name but no way am I posting my real name online) For a while now I’ve been dealing with…something that I still can’t explain how it happened.

You see somehow both Rafayel and Caleb became self aware tho Caleb took a lot longer to become self aware than Rafayel did. I don’t know how they did that (trust me I wish I knew I’m going insane trying to figure it out) but they did. So far they are only two of the boys to become self aware (something I’m still confused about but I’m fine with since I don’t need more trouble) They both see me and MC as being the same. Well more accurately they see the MC as an extension of me that they can (somewhat) interact with. I don't know why but at this point I'm not questioning it.

You know when I read that something like this happened to someone else I didn’t believe it. Like suuuure all the LADS boys just somehow got the ability to talk to you like they were real people and could comment on your blog. Seemed so fake at the time but now I believe her 100% no questions needed. I’m just glad that my Rafayel and Caleb have yet to figure out how to mess with me outside of the game because I don’t need those two to cause any more trouble for me.

Anyways back to the reason I’m making this blog. I’m hoping that by typing this out I can figure out why this is happening or at least find someone that can understand what I’m going through. I’m also doing this to keep track of what has happened so far and what day the other boys become self aware (if they even become self aware)

Just that other girl that has/had to deal with this I might as well list out what the boys can or can’t do with my phone and/or maybe my pc if LADS becomes too big for my phone just so I can keep track of it. I may have to edit this later on but it will good to have it typed out

1)The boys can only interact with me through the game and the widgets from the game (both Rafayel and Caleb love using the kitty widgets to send me message when not ingame)

2)The boys can’t go through my phone to see what I’m reading/watching (good thing because I don’t know how to explain why a lot of the fanfics I read is…explict to say the least)

3)The boys can hear that is going on outside the phone even without the game open so long as the phone is on and unlocked (found that out the hard way now I wear headphones whenever I listen to anything I don’t want them to hear) This only happened after the 4.0 update so I’m guessing the kitty widgets have something to do with this

8/6/2025 Edit (Because I’m an idiot who forgot to add these in the first place)

4)The boys can send me messages via the game’s notifications

5)The boys can’t mess with the games file (which means no cheating my way into R3ing my cards)

6)The boys can do battles, get plushies, and play Kitty Cards with me tho they can also let the preprogrammed ai do that stuff instead (learned that out when I wanted to make Rafayel work for his Merman myth cards and realized midbattle that that fish left me to get the diamonds by myself)

So yeah the 2D guys I spent so much time reading fanfics and listening to their Secret TImes have become self aware and seem to make it a mission to annoy me. Ask me any questions you have. It just might make my brain remember something that makes this whole thing make sense.
