“My fingers hurt!”

“That’s what happens when you ask me to learn guitar, Julie” Luke’s frustrated sign rings around them in Julie’s studio. After Luke played a very hot impressive solo at their last show, Julie demanded he taught her, starting with acoustic, obviously. He’s currently facing her, with another guitar in his hands, showing the chords to her. “Now, stop being a baby and press on the strings”. 

She presses on the strings, straining her fingers to make a C chord, and strums something that’s definitely not a C. She tries again and the same unpleasant sound comes out. “When you did it, it sounded fine.”

“That’s because you’re not pressing hard enough!” He runs his hand through his hair, sighing, before ditching the guitar entirely and gesturing for her to move forward. She does and he slides in behind her, on the bench. “Put your fingers on the fret.” 

His whisper fits perfectly into her ear, breath grazing the shell and the side of her neck. With his front against her back and his head bent into the crook of her neck, she doesn’t feel  the pain in her fingers where he’s pressing them down with his own and almost doesn’t hear when he murmurs a soft “now play.” 

She plays the correct strings and it sounds nearly identical to the way he played it moments before. Julie jumps in glee and turns her head, beaming. “I did it?” 

“See? Look, you’re a natural.” He beams right back at her, greenish eyes wrinkled around the corners. Julie’s gaze trails from his eyes to the smile he’s wearing, slightly biting his bottom lip in the way she loves.

“You literally have to press my fingers down for me.”

His voice goes back into a playful whisper, nudging her. “Shh! No one has to know about that.”

Headcanon that Luke has the most eclectic music taste ever. Like I'm talking about you put his music on shuffle and go from screamo to folk songs to opera and he doesn't blink an eye. He doesn't care what genre it is, as long as he can feel the passion in their songs, he'll immediately become obsessed with it
