Apparently it's Halloween. The tradition started, as these things often did, as a pagan festival. The church appropriated it and made tomorrow All Hallows [remembering the departed] and today is the evening or Halloween, which has been appropriated for commercial gain.
Happy evening of all Hallows. Remember those who have passed.
I'm very happy to remember all those who have departed. I won't be partaking in halloween.
