another accurate part of reggie's abuse is the way that he leverages the kids against each other and it leading to them resenting each other for the things he forced them to do or the actions he set in motion. all of the others model it but the stand out for me is definitely allison and viktor's fight and the way it takes it to the extreme. viktor is quick to blame allison for rumoring him even though they were 4 and had zero autonomy in that situation. love him but he is absolutely in the wrong for placing the blame... doing so is pretty realistic to the mind fuckery reggie imposed, though

In my opinion a better season 4 love triangle wouldve been Lila, Diego and PATCH.

Picture this, Diego and Lila settled in the new timeline, Diego long having moved on from the events of season 1. Married with kids etc etc.

Then one day on his route he drives past Patch. Not his Patch but Patch no less, cue some comical almost crashing the van while staring at her.

Keeping the Lila sneaking off on spy work plot but rather than having the whole creepy Lila and Five implied affair we have a Diego that feels neglected by his wife, a whole dilemma about wanting to make it up to Patch and feeling responsible for her death.

This was just some half baked thought I had on the bus a couple days ago but yknow

The writers in TUA S4 acted like Klaus finding out that he was immortal would make him extremely careful because he was scared of dying. Klaus didn’t know he was immortal for the majority of his life. He still fell off of rooftops drunk, not caring about the consequences. He died tons of times before he knew and didn’t care, because he was stuck in a cycle of self destructive behavior that he couldn’t seem to even want to get out of. Even when he found a way to stay in the Void, Luther had to convince him to go back. All Klaus wanted was to not be in pain anymore and he wasn’t even able to get that in the end

The irony of this new breed of self-righteous AI hunters on AO3 is that they're all just copy and pasting peoples fics into AI detectors, which are all operated by AI and therefore THEY are feeding people's work into the algorithm without their consent and in some cases no doubt circumventing the locks people put on to avoid getting scraped...

When I get too pessimistic I remember that one scene from a movie (which I always forget which one it was) that goes something like this:

Someone refusing to even dare have hope: "but what if it doesn't work?"

Someone trying to change their mind: "what if it does?"

And I go fuck, that's right. I plan and overthink the bad scenarios, until it seems they're the only possible outcome. But what if they're not. What if good things happen. I tend to forget good things happen.

Then I remember it's from Five Feet Apart and I feel like a dork. But it does help.
