Miu intervened between Ren and the open doorway, hand on her hip. She came alone, and though that was typically frowned upon, she couldn’t fathom surrounding a kid like him with a hoard of cops. Still, she was curious about him-- was this the group her son always talked about at dinner? Shaking her head, Detective Miyamoto shot Ren a piercing glare. “You aren’t going anywhere. Not until you answer some questions for me. Right here, right now.”

Moving to the big city had it’s perks, but in the long run she had isolated herself more than she cared to admit. Glancing up at the clock, Miu sighed as her fingertips brushed against the fur of her cat as he nonchalantly passed by. Upon hearing a knock on her door, she was more than taken aback-- Was it one of her co-workers? Wrong pizza delivery...? When Miu opened the door, her heart fluttered. Did they really make the journey..?! She could hardly contain her excitement, her smile unwavering as she kneeled down to meet Nanako face to face, tightly embracing her. “You came all the way here for me? Really? I just..I can’t believe it..!” No way she’d cry in front of them, but the urge was rising. When Nanako stepped back, Miu allowed herself to be wrapped around Dojima’s arms, blushing madly as he kissed her head. All this time...! Her cheeks ablaze, she pulled away briefly only to place her hands on his cheeks and pull him into a proper kiss. Miu giggled as she wiped away some of her lipstick from his upper lip. Oops. “I missed you more than you know, Ryotaro..I love you and Nanako so much. Stay for awhile, please?”

❝ me? no, not really. i’ve tried a few dating apps to match up with people but … these days it’s sort of a no go in that regard. i’ve been spending all my time with akira these days, but we’re not … it’s not like that or anything. ❞ a flush as dark brows knit together deeply when she sighs,

“I’ve only ever dated other detectives honestly, I seem to scare anyone else off. I suppose for...obvious reasons.” Miu huffed, leaning back against the wall and taking a swig of her iced coffee. She /wanted/ to get married and settle down, but rushing into it wouldn’t have been good for anyone. Miu figured other guys in her field would understand, but so far most wanted nothing to do with the concept.   “Hey, if you like him, don’t feel bad. I’d get crushes all the time at the station. It’s almost unavoidable sometimes, but it just depends if you want to be serious or not. Guys are just so flip-floppy, it’s frustrating. But I guess...we are too. It’s hard picking who you want to marry, anyways. If I stay a cop after everything though, would you baby-sit my kid?” She laughed, stirring her straw.

The pressure’s really on us, huh?” She got the ‘where are my grandchildren?!’ inquiry from her parents every other month. Was she really that old? The thought made her shudder a little. Sighing, the detective toyed with the cutesy cat keychain dangling from her cell phone. “...Seeing someone? Well, that’s a loose term..! It’s frowned upon to be interested in co-workers, so I guess for the sake of my job..no. But if you’re good at keeping secrets, maybe. What about yourself?”
