dawn - not wanting to leave the warmness of the bed, loves to snuggle, furry friend lover, pretty journals, the briskness of the air outside, dreamy eyes and cloudy heads, rocks the messy hair look, soft colors

morning - sunshine child, brightest smiles, the best hugger, basking in the warm sunlight, tying your hair up or getting it out of your face, comfy sneakers and sweats, lounging around, artsy, plant parent

midday - the most active bunch, loves to play and be with friends, just wants to love everyone and every thing, probably has a pet rock, a breath of fresh air, likes to eat a lot, afternoon naps, windows open and curtains fluttering

evening - party animal, bright lights and pretty people, likes to cook, warmer browns or black, drifting through life, fading lights to dark rooms, cold drinks on summer days, best dressed always, heart eyes 24/7

dusk - tired and grumbly, just wants someone to take care of them, best at giving advice, has a few close friends and loves them to bits, knows all your secrets, has pretty handwriting, likes to tease and joke, actually really cool

midnight - sleepy stargazer, vivid dreams, city lights and moving cars, likes to drink a lot of tea, fluffy blankets, fun adventures at 2am, lots of stories to tell, keeps you guessing, rosy cheeks, leather jackets

I think it’s really important to write down how you feel when you actually feel good. Write about the environment, what you’re thinking, hearing, seeing–It’s necessary to take notice and be aware of that. I feel good right now because the window is open and there’s a nice light breeze coming in, and because it’s silent in my room, and not an anxiety inducing silence but a comforting one. You don’t have to pull out a notepad every single time it happens but every single one of us experiences one moment, however small, as being comfortable and safe, and I think they’re worth remembering. I think if I do this more often it’ll help with my crashes in the future. It’s not much but it’s something. It feels like a meditative state that I didn’t plan or force myself into but that the universe brought to me and it’s a nice thought.

just start. do a single math problem out of the 20 you have. one page of reading and youre done. try to just place one item where it belongs. research that one thing you need for your paper. go over a powerpoint slide for that lecture youre confused in.

i promise you doing one single action feels better than doing nothing at all. take 5 minutes to do just one small task thats been staying in the back of your head.

i just read a washington post article on romcoms aging poorly due to the pushiness (and oft-stalkery conduct) of the male characters therein, and it got me thinking about pride and prejudice, and specifically darcy saying, “one word from you will silence me on this subject forever.”

because, like, that’s the seldom-portrayed romantic dream in the patriarchal hellscape that is our world, isn’t it?

a dude being willing to say, “i understand if you don’t feel the same way about me, and i’ll leave you alone forever about this if my attention is unwanted.”
