FORGETABOUTIT

First music post! Let me say a little something about FORGETABOUTIT. I found them at random, as one does, while waiting for the bus last week. Sometimes I feel adventurous enough to just put on one of the "Daily Mix" playlists Spotify offers me, and this day was an exceptionally mix, where everything revolved around Skate Punk, Strung Out and The Black Pacific

FORGETABOUTIT is a Norwegian band from Oslo, and they really scratch and itch I've been trying to deal with ever since a past favorite band of mine imploded. FORGETABOUTIT offers explosive speed and vigor with a bunch of punches to the face, a feeling I do quite enjoy. My first exposure was Apologize:

Incidentally, this is the reason I'm starting this blog. It's because I wanted to shout about how much I fell in love with this song immediately. The lyrics being upset at the state of the climate, and lack of action towards any change, accompanied by a speedy delivery with as much urgency as the message it tries to convey, it's exactly what I'm currently looking for when it comes to inspiration for my other projects. It's interesting how European bands tend to write more about the climate than politicians, which, granted, makes a lot of sense when considering local relevance. It's always a treat to find great bands closer to your home. Hopefully resulting in more visits to local venues...

It entered first place on my On Repeat playlist too, which has been the same 30 songs rotating location for the past 3 months since I love using On Repeat. So, uh, congratulations! So of course I went through their entire catalogue after this.

Great timing, cause they released this single recently. Another banger, and it makes me upset they don't have more than a single Studio album and some EPs out so far. The record business is a mess, but I wish these guys the absolute best in their endeavors, from across the pond of Skagerrak. I'm for sure a fan now! (So guys, please visit Denmark maybe?? Preferably the mainland. Lets ignore Copenhagen for a minute.)

If you're in the market for something faster, frustrated but empowering, do consider giving FORGETABOUTIT a moment of your time. If they hit the spot for you, I do think they will hit it hard. Recommended if you like: Millencolin, Pennywise, Good Riddance

Lundi's Lair - Introduction

Hello, and welcome to my music-centered blog! These past few years I have been expanding on my music catalogue, and sometimes I get overwhelmed and forget the many names, or they get lost in my absurdly long and numerous playlists on Spotify. So, my friends have been so kind to support the idea of making a blog about everything I find, both so I can rant for a bit about what makes everything sound so good, but also to collect everything.

I welcome anyone who may be interested in especially the genres of punk and adjacent to follow my little adventure, and maybe, hopefully, find a new favorite band along the way worthy of your already booming catalogue.
