My little money bag is empty. I thought about it, but I didn't expect it to come so soon.
Medical supplies... consume furniture... food and other miscellaneous items still need to be bought... This makes Xiyou's wallet even worse once again
Just at a loss, she suddenly remembered when she was chatting with Jim before, he mentioned that the annual competition of Eagle Trainers was coming soon! They will train their eagles to catch wild rabbits in competitions, and the top three people who catch the most will receive a reward of 100 euros!
Although she is not an eagle trainer, she has eagle companions
"Altair... just help me this time... please..."
"I don't want to go out of the forest..."
"Don't you want to meet new friends!"
"I don't want to find a fraternity among those fools... Let go of me..."
"Please, my great mentor. You are beautiful, kind, tolerant, and generous..."
"Allow this time..."

《have the luck to meet》
(1)
A beam of sunlight fell through the curtains and into the room. The chirping of birds outside woke her up from her sleep. Brenriel opened her eyes and sat up from the bed, stretching lazily. Last night's staying up late did not affect her. She glanced at the book lying beside her,
Recalling the content in the book about a pirate named "Edward Kenway"? Now it seems that this book is more like the autobiography of that gentleman
I haven't finished reading the content in the book, but his story really touches people's hearts.
If it were handed over to a publishing house, it would probably attract a large number of readers, but Brenriel did not have that idea. It is likely that the people who originally owned it did not want it to be made public
The story in the book is very exciting, but there are also many aspects that make Brenriel confused
For example, the Assassins Organization and the Templar Knights, Edward in the book doesn't seem to be interested in them. Compared to ruling the world, in his eyes, the golden gold is more attractive than these things
Brenriel fully agrees with his idea. If it were for now, she would definitely think that those things are some strange pyramid schemes. She doesn't believe in God, and of course, what else... um... Father of Insight? Are you sure these things are not meant to deceive people?
There is also a group of people called assassins who uphold the belief that "everything is empty and everything is allowed", which sounds quite similar. To be honest, compared to Edward who likes the latter "everything is allowed", he prefers the earlier "everything is empty". Brenriel thinks so
"Miss Allen - I think you should wake up now. I believe you're not lying in bed, are you?"
Mrs. Green's voice outside the door pulled her thoughts back to reality. She answered the door and breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing the footsteps of leaving. She then lifted the blanket and got out of bed to do her makeup and wash up
After washing up, her gaze turned to the book on the bed and the scattered stamps. After thinking for a while, she went to the desk and took out a piece of paper. She picked up a pen and dipped it in ink to start writing
Not long after, Brenriel walked downstairs in low heels. Today, she specially chose a dress that looked very simple. Mrs. Green heard the sound of going downstairs and looked over here. When she saw her dress that was very different from that of an ordinary citizen, she couldn't help but frown. The wrinkles on her face moved with her expression
"Miss, I understand that you don't like those fancy dresses, but even at home, you don't have to dress up like this... Volkswagen"
Upon hearing the evaluation Brenriel was satisfied with, she nodded and desired the effect,
"Ha, thank you for the review. What's breakfast for today?"
"Bread dipped in jam, vegetable salad, and... milk"
Upon hearing that Milk Brenriel was somewhat resistant, Mrs. Green suggested that breakfast should be paired with a freshly brewed cup of black tea or coffee. However, Mrs. Green did not approve of drinking these things during her illness and refused to let her eat anything overly greasy. Fortunately, nuts and other foods were still acceptable
Brenriel took a deep breath helplessly, and she had to admit that Mrs. Green did have her own way of working as a caregiver and taking care of people, which was very effective
The girl obediently sat back at the dining table and turned her gaze to the newly released newspaper on the side,
Yesterday didn't seem to be a big deal?
Brenriel was chewing his food, reading the contents of the newspaper, pondering
Suddenly, her gaze stopped at the advertisement in the newspaper about Starry's painkillers, but she remembered that it didn't seem like a good thing
Well, let's just look at something else. Maybe we can find the news about the person who almost bumped into us last night. Brenriel thought that if we could meet, she would not only demand a mental loss fee, but also hold onto the person's collar and greet them well, even though such behavior is not ladylike
As a result, when the entire newspaper was flipped through, there was no related or similar event inside. There was clearly a lot of noise last night, and Brenriel vividly remembers when the whole street was filled with gunshots and shouts, and the noise could completely shake the police
Police! She almost forgot about this. Last night, the police must have some understanding of it. Maybe she can start from here
Brenriel is not someone who is too particular... that's strange. She remembers last night's incident to this day, and she still has that person's belongings in her hands
Looking at Mrs. Green, who was still busy in the kitchen, Brenriel wiped her mouth clean and quickly went upstairs
"Mrs. Green, I went back to my room to rest. When someone approached me, they said they didn't have time and I didn't want to be disturbed."
"Okay"
Seeing that she didn't have time to talk to her, Brenriel smiled and returned to the room, closing the door. However, it seemed like he remembered something and took out a piece of paper to write on it. He opened the door and pasted it on it, then locked it
I saw on the paper outside the door that was written with a pen
"Sleeping soundly, please do not knock on the door"
(II)
Pounce——
A figure leaped down from the window and landed precisely into the haystack, making a sound
Brenriel poked her head out of the haystack, familiar with the scene, familiar with the operation, familiar with the pile of fallen leaves, and the boxes stacked in the corner. She jumped off the wall with all her movements in one go, and last night she had enough rest to avoid any physical discomfort on the way
Although not a habitual offender, Brenriel feels like he's not far away either
The pedestrians coming and going around didn't pay attention to themselves climbing out of the wall, and no one paid attention to a person who looked ordinary. They didn't have this leisure time
"It's much livelier than at night."
Brenriel looked around and patted the dust on his hands, taking out the book and the envelope containing letter bag to make sure nothing was missing. He walked towards the place where he had an accident before
The early morning sun is not dazzling, nor does it have the burning sensation of the afternoon sun. The closer to the city center, the more noisy the crowd is. The surrounding vendors put items in boxes and hang them around their necks, waiting for guests to arrive
After a while, there were more pedestrians on the street, indicating that it was probably peak traffic
Brenriel was shuttling through the crowd, his eyes full of curiosity as he poked his head and head. Suddenly, he felt as if he had been pushed and pushed from behind, and his body leaned forward uncontrollably. Fortunately, he grabbed the railing on the side in time
"Hey!"
Brenriel looked behind him in dissatisfaction, while the person pushing him heard her voice and turned around to look at him. His blue uniform hinted at his identity
It's a police officer
At this moment, he stopped and walked over
"What's up, miss?" he spoke, his contemptuous gaze scanning her back and forth
"Sir, I think you should apologize to me for almost causing me to fall," Brenriel suppressed his temper, as he still had to ask some questions
"Oh? Really, that's really sorry, after all, I didn't notice a strange person walking without looking at the road."
The other party sneered and their attitude was infuriating. Brenriel tried to suppress his anger and pulled the corners of his mouth to show a polite smile
"I'm really sorry, officer. Do you mind if I ask you something? Of course, there is still a gift in return."
As she spoke, she took out a considerable amount of money from her bag. The person in front of her didn't expect it to be like this. When she saw the amount of money in her hand, she immediately smiled and took it, after all, no one would be unable to get along with the money
"Of course not, may I ask what you need to ask, miss?"
Brenriel stopped asking polite and straightforward questions when he saw the situation
"Do you know what happened on this street last night? A group of... thugs holding firearms."
Upon hearing her words, the police officer's expression froze. He glanced around to make sure no one noticed and bent down to lower his voice
"Miss, I kindly remind you that it's better to know less about this matter. It's not a wise choice to provoke the thugs' gang."
"The thug gang?"
Brenriel had a puzzled look in her eyes. She had only been in London for a few days and could only say that she had heard of the thug gang mentioned by the police, but never paid attention to it. The police, seeing that she was not familiar with it, reluctantly turned around and called for her to come over
The two of them stopped at the entrance of an alley, and the police officer took off his hat and put it under his armpit. He turned around and looked over. The petite girl in front of him looked very innocent, and no matter how he looked, she didn't seem like anything... Why did he go find a thug to help those guys
"Miss, before I tell you the answer you want, can you tell me why you want to inquire about this matter?"
He became serious, and the sudden tense atmosphere made Brenriel feel a bit at a loss. She took out the book in her bag and handed it over
"Okay, actually I ran into them last night... and I accidentally found this book. I wanted to return it to everyone before I came to inquire."
The other person took the book, and when he saw the sign on it, he widened his eyes in surprise. Then he looked at Brenriel and saluted her solemnly. This change in attitude startled her and she pushed back a few steps
"Thank you! This book is very important, thank you very much. My name is Frederick Eberlin. Miss, if you need it, you can come to me for help in the future."
"Um... Alan Branriel"
Eberlin excitedly held her hand and shook it to express gratitude. Brenriel was a bit flustered. She didn't expect her luck to be so good. She thought she might have to search for it for a long time, but suddenly she realized something and looked carefully at Eberlin, who was checking books
"Mr. Frederick..."
"Just call me Abelin, miss, there's no need to be so reserved."
"Okay, Eberlin... Excuse me, do you know that person? He is the one who lost this book."
When she asked Eberlin, she raised an eyebrow and said, "Are you asking her for anything?"
"She...? No, no, no, I remember it was a gentleman. To be honest, I almost lost my life last night because of that gentleman." She said, taking out a prepared letter. "I originally thought if I couldn't find anyone, I would hand over the items to the office or something."
After speaking, she paused for a moment and continued to speak
"It doesn't seem necessary now. Can you help me hand over this letter to that gentleman? There's something I want to say to him. Thank you."
Upon hearing Brenriel's words, he seemed to suddenly understand something and then nodded in agreement. Brenriel thanked him for resolving the matter and turned around to leave. Eberlin looked at Brenriel's departing figure, looked at the books and letters in his hand, and sighed with relief as he put them away
I found what Ivy was looking for this way, thanks to that kind lady
And Jacob, that reckless guy, almost caused trouble again... Last night there was so much commotion that he was busy all night to suppress this matter
Now, he should go back and deliver the task
"Huh..."
Brenriel arrived at the port and although she had already completed her tasks, she didn't want to go back so early, so she came to the river to see, and the result
The black smoke emitted by the ship carrying goods is really unpleasant!
She was afraid that her condition might relapse and worsen if she stayed any longer, so she turned around and wanted to leave quickly. Suddenly, a nearby shout caught her attention
"Hurry up and buy Starry's painkillers!"
(III)
The nearby vendor's shout successfully caught Brenriel's attention, and she stopped to look at the source of the sound
Shrek painkillers? If she's right, it should be the one she saw in the newspaper early in the morning. Curious, she leaned over to take a look. When the vendor saw someone coming to take care of his stall, he immediately smiled and rubbed his palm to welcome him
"Miss, come and take a look at these. They are all brand new potions."
The smiling appearance of the vendor made Brenriel feel very uncomfortable, especially when he saw his waxy teeth showing when he smiled, he immediately dispelled the idea of wanting to sell
Just as she was about to open her mouth and refuse, the lady's voice came from behind her
"Wait a minute!"
It was a woman pushing the person in the wheelchair towards her, her expression filled with anger. When she found Brenriel next to her, she immediately released the wheelchair handle to protect the girl behind her and pointed at the person in the wheelchair
"He drank it all! Your potion made him unable to move and turned him into an idiot!"
Looking in the direction she pointed, the man in the wheelchair, as the woman had said, opened his mouth slightly and looked up at him in confusion. Brenriel lifted his hand and lightly covered his lips, looking incredulously at him
"This..."
"Oh! Now take a look! You're scaring away my guests"
The vendor looked at the woman with displeasure and reached out to point at her nose, threatening to grit his teeth and say
"You'd better quickly step aside, otherwise I'll treat you 'well' and make you 'unforgettable' for life."
Faced with the intimidation of the vendors, the woman showed no signs of fear. Instead, she leaned forward with a fierce expression, her eyes eager to cut the man in front of her with countless knives and pieces
As things began to develop in an irreversible direction, Brenriel felt a bit at a loss. She tried to pull them apart to calm them down, but was pushed away by the vendor
"Be careful, miss"
Supported from behind, a voice echoed overhead, with a hint of hoarse yet magnetic and elegant London accent
Brenriel blinked her eyes and turned around. When she met a pair of olive green eyes, she was stunned. Time seemed to have stopped at this moment, and she smelled the scent of that person. The slight smoky tobacco alcohol mixed with the sweetness of caramel, and the numbness seemed to pass from her toes to the top of her head
Brenriel and he stared at each other for a few seconds and immediately regained consciousness. He stood straight, picked up his skirt, and saluted the gentleman
"Thank you..."
The other party seemed to have just regained their senses, smiling and taking off their top hat to bow to their chest when they saw Brenriel's actions
The intense argument on the side pulled both of their thoughts back. The man wrapped his hands around them and looked at them with a puzzled expression in his eyes. He raised his eyebrows and smiled as he looked at Brenriel, who showed a helpless expression and shrugged at him, saying that he couldn't do anything about it
Finally, the man sighed and walked up to the two arguing people, with Brenriel following behind him and watching
"What are you arguing about?"
The two of them looked at the person who appeared inexplicably. Seeing that they were no longer arguing, he blinked at you and then turned his gaze back to the two of them
The vendor looked at the situation and immediately took out a knife from his pocket, shouting to get out of the way. When he saw the knife in the vendor's hand, Brenriel instinctively pulled the woman next to him back
Pa Da Da——
The small knife in the vendor's hand was slapped off by the man, and everyone around him was stunned. The vendor didn't expect to run away in fear when he saw the man's gaze cast at him
The man, with a smile on his face, calmly turned around to look at you. After bowing down to say goodbye, he went after the vendor
"What an interesting gentleman!"
Brenriel looked at his departing figure and sighed, while the woman beside him silently returned to the wheelchair after seeing no results
She couldn't hold on anymore as she watched the man with dementia, crouched down and buried himself in his lap crying. However, the man who was still giggling suddenly seemed to remember something, and he lowered his head to look at the woman in a daze
Autumn in London is always accompanied by cool winds. At this moment, Brennell felt as if these winds were filling her heart. She pursed her slightly dry lips and looked at the two people in front of her. The weather was quite cold, and they only wrapped thick clothes layer by layer, washed some white coats, and their weathered faces constantly reminded Brennell that they were two classes from beginning to end
And when faced with the arrival of tragedy, she only managed to watch from the sidelines, just like the group of people before her
Brenriel looked up at the horizon, the wind blowing away the bangs on her forehead. Her brown pupils reflected the image of the city, mixed with complex emotions. She asked herself in her heart
How far is winter coming?
(III)
There was a sound of explosions in a factory, and a black shadow fell from the broken window into the haystack. The man jumped out of the haystack and quickly escaped the scene proficiently. Someone was already waiting for him at the door. Seeing that he had not been affected by the explosion and ran out unharmed, a appreciative smile appeared under his dense white beard
He ran to the man and reached out his hand to him
"Well done, I'm Charles Darwin. Nice to meet you."
The man took a deep breath and stood up straight, reaching out to grab the other person's hand and introducing himself
"I'm Jacob Fry, it's my honor to meet you."
While two people chatted on the side, a figure hid beside them. After they finished talking and Darwin left, she took advantage of her unpreparedness and quietly came behind Jacob, patting his shoulder hard
"Let me see... which stinky kid didn't lie in bed obediently with a cold and caused me a lot of trouble..."
Jacob recognized that it was his sister's voice, and he lifted his hands and turned around, with a look on his face that nothing had happened
"Oh - my dear sister Ivy, how did you find me?"
"I think anyone five miles away can notice such a big commotion. You've caused me a lot of trouble again, kid."
Ivy poked Accord's shoulder vigorously, with a look of hatred that could not turn into steel. "You really haven't remembered any of our father's teachings during his lifetime," she said
"Oh my god, it's my father again. I think with you, my father must be relieved enough," Ivy said, causing Jacob to frown. He hated that father and his training style too much
So much so that during his training, he often explored Crowley's factory and casino. Compared to him, his sister was the opposite of him, so they often had arguments when discussing about their father
Ivy couldn't help but pause the conversation when she saw Jacob's current state. She knew her younger brother, who was born four minutes later than her, so much so that continuing the conversation would not make his mind suddenly light up. This was almost impossible
She took out a book and a letter from her clothes, and Jacob saw the book. He quietly leaned his head over and asked in surprise when he saw the icon on the book
"Ivy, have you found that book?"
"That's right, according to Lord Greene, this was obtained by Eberlin from a lady who even wrote you a letter."
"Oh, you can tell that this book has gone through ups and downs, but I'm even more curious about that letter! Show me it now!"
Jacob took the letter from Ivy's hand, with a seal attached. Curious, Jacob opened it and took out the paper. As he read more of the letter, Jacob's smile gradually turned into doubt and then into shock
Watching her younger brother's expression so rich, Ivy closed the book in her hand and leaned over to read the letter in his hand
Then... she suppressed a smile and tried her best to suppress the rising corners of her mouth
"Puff... that lady really... wrote the essence, your driving skills are indeed... you are more suitable for letting a horse lead you."
"wei...!"
Jacob saw Ivy holding her stomach and giving her an unpleasant smile, then folded the paper in half and put it in his pocket
Of course, he remembered last night when he almost ran into a woman walking on the street. However, at that time, the situation was urgent and he did not pay attention to what the other person looked like. He also greatly admired how this person could find him. The letter also wrote about the woman being locked up at home because of his recklessness
Accord touched the scum on his chin and pondered for a while, then suddenly thought of touching Ivy's shoulder
"Hey Ivy! Can you please ask the furry 'lady' (Eberlin) to inquire about this lady's address? I want to reply to her letter."
"Jacob, it's better if you're not going to cause trouble."
"... Ivy!"
(4)
Brenriel climbed into her room through the window and patted the dust off her body. Looking at the unchanged objects around her, she was convinced that Mrs. Green had not entered her room all morning
Just as she was hanging her bag on the shelf and changing into pajamas, there was a knocking outside the door that made her shiver
"Miss Allen, have you woken up?"
Mrs. Green's inquiry came from outside the door, and Brenriel immediately sat on the bed and responded
"Okay, it will be afternoon tea time in about half an hour. I'll put it on the cabinet at the door. Miss, remember to open the door and pick it up."
"No problem"
Hearing the footsteps outside disappear, Brenriel breathed a sigh of relief. She collapsed on the bed, closed her eyes, and took a deep breath. Suddenly, the pair of pupils came to her mind, making her open her eyes immediately
Ah... that interesting gentleman
Brenriel sat up and looked out the window at the scenery, his thoughts drifting towards the distance
I don't know if I can meet him again in the future, but then she must ask his name

《have the luck to meet》
(1)
Brenriel finally returned to her room under Mrs. Green's stern gaze. She closed the door and casually placed her bag on the bedside table, looking up at the nearby clock
It's almost ten o'clock, and if it were normal, she would have already fallen asleep, but now she stands here covered in dirt, feeling very uncomfortable
She lowered the curtains, took off her stained dress, placed it on the armchair, and put it back on the sleeping skirt next to her. She put down her hair rope to drape her hair, and finally opened the door. Mrs. Green had been waiting outside for a long time before entering the room, picking up her clothes and looking back at Brenriel standing next to her
"Miss Allen, the hot water has been drained. Go ahead and don't catch a cold."
"Okay"
After tidying up her mood, the girl went to the bathroom, took off her clothes and soaked herself in the bathtub. The water temperature was just right, and Brenriel leaned against the edge and looked up at the crystal chandelier on the ceiling, emitting a faint yellow glow through the water vapor
She lifted her hand and took a foam from the water and blew at it. These little creatures floated in the air like fairies
So comfortable... she felt all the unhappiness dissipated with the foam
The sound of raindrops hitting the glass suddenly came from outside the window. The noisy and hurried sound was telling the people inside that the heavy rain had arrived. She smiled and listened quietly to the sound of the rain outside, hoping that it would last longer so that it could accompany her to sleep
————————————————————
"Jacob, haven't you found it either?"
A woman stood by the street observing the surroundings, followed by a man who shrugged and looked innocent when he heard the inquiry from the person in front of her
"Unfortunately, I didn't get anything. Ivy, are you sure that book was lost here?"
"I think it should be here. I almost fell here before."
The rain above their heads grew heavier and wetted their clothes and hair, making their vision very blurry at night. In addition, the dim lights on the roadside illuminated the deserted streets, making it even more difficult to find something
Jacob lifted his head and looked at the sky as it rained heavily. He ran over to Ivy's side and patted her shoulder
"Ivy, it's raining too hard to find. Even if we find it, it might have been soaked by the rain, right? Let's go back."
"This is the only clue to finding the Eden artifact, we must find it."
Seeing her so persistent, Jacob raised his hand to touch the rain on his face, took a deep breath, and looked into the distance before grabbing her arm
"So, you go back to the train first, and I'll look here again. The rain probably won't stop for a while, so you happen to go back and change your clothes."
"Jacob, you..."
Before she could finish speaking, Jacob immediately came behind her and pushed, with a playful smile on his face
"Oh my dear sister, I believe there will always be clues for me, but if you fall ill, no one will go find the Eden Hallows, right? Lao Ge is also waiting for you on the train, go back."
Faced with Jacob pushing herself hard behind her, Ivy naturally knew that this guy was actually afraid of her getting sick in the rain. She sighed helplessly and agreed, but her heart still couldn't let go
"Don't push... Alright, if you can't find it, remember to go back early, okay?"
"Of course -"
Jacob looked at Ivy's departing figure and sighed helplessly as he turned around to continue searching for the item. It was raining heavily and he thought it might not be found, but at least he had to try to find it. Maybe he left a clue or someone picked it up?
But if those Templar Knights found their hands... then it would be troublesome
Damn it…
——————————————————
Brenriel was holding a dry towel in her hand, wiping her long, damp hair. She walked barefoot on the floor back to the room, gently pushing open the door. There was only one desk lamp on in front of the desk, and next to it was a steaming cup of milk
After drying her hair, Brenriel came to the table and picked up the cup. The temperature of the cup instantly warmed her palm
"Miss Allen, hot milk is on the table. Remember to drink it and go to bed early."
Mrs. Green outside the door shouted, like a heartbroken mother who almost did her best to take care of her young lady when she learned she had to accompany her. Brenriel didn't dislike her sometimes restraining herself
Okay, if she doesn't tell her father what happened tonight, I believe she will be even more grateful for it
"I know, I'll sleep when my hair dries," Brenriel shouted out the door
"I hope so, don't let me find out about sneaking out again, okay?"
Upon hearing the girl's helpless smile, she realized that her twenties were not as mischievous as a child. When there was no sound outside the door, Brenriel turned off the desk lamp and brought a cup to sit down by the bed, turning on the small night light on the bedside table
"Click -"
The faint light illuminated the surroundings of the bed, and Brenriel lifted the blanket and entered the bed. The autumn nights in London were a bit cold, not to mention the constant rain. Fortunately, Mrs. Green put a hot water bag in the blanket to keep it warm enough. The girl sat on the bed and took a sip of milk from the cup, only to find that it was still slightly hot, so she placed it on the bedside table
Although the window is tightly closed, listening to the patter of rain outside, this small room feels incredibly warm and cozy at this moment
The girl actually enjoys such peaceful loneliness very much, but she understands that freedom is what she truly yearns for
When Brenriel withdrew his thoughts and planned to finish his milk and fall asleep, his hand reaching for the cup accidentally touched the nearby handbag
She was taken aback for a moment, picked up her handbag, opened the zipper, and took out the things that didn't originally belong inside, the book she found, and a few stamps that were almost soaked in rainwater
"You're lucky? There aren't even a few stamps... cough cough cough!!"
Brenriel quickly covered her mouth and a fierce cough stopped her from speaking. After that, she felt it was better to speak less
The girl placed the stamps separately on the bed cabinet, but the extra one had nowhere to be placed
After thinking for a moment, Brenriel picked up the cup containing milk, placed the extra stamp at the bottom of the cup, and then continued to focus on the strange book
This book has a strange logo printed on it... It looks like the capital letter "A"? Brenriel thought to herself, the golden mark under the light reflected a faint light, and she gently stroked the icon, suddenly thinking of something
"Perhaps... looking at it from a different perspective..."
With a feeling of giving it a try, she turned the book in her hand and as expected!
Sure enough, I didn't find anything
Is it the icon below the letter and the symbol of the water droplet that looks like an eagle spreading its wings? Perhaps my imagination is too rich
The girl roast in her heart about her behavior just now and turned the book back. Now she put her curiosity on the book. Although it is not a proper behavior for a lady to read other people's books without their consent... But who cares!
The night is still long, isn't it? Perhaps I can spend about two hours rushing to read the content of the book before midnight. What if this book is Mr. Dickens' latest work?
Okay... Brenriel admits that this is the excuse she found for wanting to read this book
She leaned slightly to the side of the desk lamp to allow herself enough light to see the text in the book. She lifted her hand and gently opened the book cover, using black ink to write the signature in the middle on the blank page that came into view under the light, as if reminding the reader of the "author" of the book
——Edward James Kenway

Dida... Dida... Dida
The clock made a gear turning sound as time passed, and the time pointer also pointed to twelve o'clock. The sound of rain outside still did not stop. Suddenly, the door outside was opened, and it was Mrs. Green. She walked into the room carrying an oil lamp, and the excessive work added a touch of fatigue to her once weathered face
Looking at the table lamp that had not been turned off and the milk that had already cooled down, under the dim yellow light, Brenriel, who was asleep at some point, closed his eyes and let out a faint breathing sound
The girl is now curled up and lying on the soft bed, quiet and obedient. Her slightly messy long hair is scattered behind her, and she is still holding the unfinished book in her arms
The heavy rain outside the window did not wake up the sleeping girl. Her calm face and trembling eyelashes were telling others that she was completely immersed in a dream at this moment
Mrs. Green sighed helplessly and quietly placed the oil lamp aside. After covering the sleeping girl with a blanket, she picked up the already cold milk next to her
"Good night, miss"
She whispered and casually turned off the nearby desk lamp, carrying the oil lamp and leaving the room, gently closing the door
·
The girl in the dream stood barefoot on the deck, holding the book tightly in her hands, her hair swaying with the wind and her nightgown fluttering
It was clear that the sky was raining heavily, and the wind and waves around her were rising, but she stood there safe and sound, with a look of bewilderment. The waves were pounding the hull, but the ship was still traveling in the huge waves and raging storms
She crouched down in fear, holding the book in her arms. The crew around the ship were busy, as if no one had noticed the sudden appearance of the girl. One by one, she hurriedly passed by her side
Where exactly is this... who can help me
Brenriel trembled all over as he prayed, but suddenly footsteps came and stopped beside him. The girl looked over with confusion and lifted her head along the other person's shoes to look at the person standing next to her
He was wearing a strange outfit, his blonde hair wet with rain, and his chin beard not yet shaved clean. Despite being in such a dangerous situation, he skillfully operated the helm and commanded the crew in an orderly manner
"Guys! Hold on! We're about to escape the storm!"
He shouted loudly, with that hearty laughter. Brenriel looked up at him and was lost in thought until the wind and waves subsided. The originally gloomy black clouds no longer covered the sky, revealing the dusk. The sunlight shone on the relaxed face of the person
After experiencing wind and rain, they finally got out of their predicament. Now is the best time to watch the dream after the storm. Brenriel is no longer afraid and stands up to the side of the ship, lying on the edge, watching the scenery at sea and feeling the joy of surviving the disaster
"It's beautiful, isn't it? We're far from the clutches of the sea god."
The blonde man walked over with a smile, leaning his back against the wooden board and admiring the beautiful scenery with her on the side. Brenriel hesitated for a few seconds as he looked at him and spoke in uncertainty
"Are you... Edward James Kenwy?"
But he seemed to have not heard the other person's words, just looked at the scenery for a while before leaving, without taking a glance at himself in the middle, as if what he had just said was not what he was saying to her
Perhaps because this is a dream... but the people inside can't see themselves
Brenriel stared blankly at the back of the blonde man, and suddenly heard waves of singing in his ear, deep and rough, echoing with joy, but then seemed to gradually fade away
Now we are ready to sell for the Horn,
Way, ay, roll an 'go!
Our clothes boys are all in the town,
Timme rollickin 'randy dandy O!
Love a pawl, oh, love away,
·
"Oh! Uh... my goodness..."
With a thud, Brenriel lay half on the ground, helplessly lifting her hand and taking the book that hit her face. She never expected to fall out of bed while sleeping
Fortunately, no one noticed such an awkward scene, and the woolen blanket on the ground made the back of my head fall less painful
She got up from the ground half asleep and half awake, rubbed the back of her head, only to see the sky light up slightly. She covered her mouth and yawned, then climbed back to bed and covered herself with a blanket to continue her sleep
——————————————————
"Come on, let me try my temperature. Has it gone down?"
Ivy took off her gloves and touched Jacob's forehead lying on her bed. She didn't expect her younger brother to have a fever due to being exposed to the rain for too long. When he returned to the train wet and almost collapsed in front of her, she was scared
"Sorry Ivy, I still couldn't find the book you mentioned."
Jacob is now lying in bed in a state of complete illness, completely losing his previous mental state. Ivy feels a bit guilty as she watches him transform into this. If she hadn't lost the clue, maybe Jacob wouldn't have become like this
"Let me guess... Ha! You must be feeling guilty for me, but Ivy, you can just say it out loud. Oh, don't worry, I'll definitely suppress my laughter."
Seeing that his yawning expression remained unchanged as usual, Ivy put away her previous emotions and rolled her eyes at him
"Are you really... taking a good rest these days? I'll find some clues."
"Ivy, can you handle it alone?"
"You can rest assured to take care of your illness, I can handle it alone."
Ivy patiently covered him with a blanket, turned around and walked towards another carriage. As she was leaving, she suddenly stopped and turned back to look at Jacob
"Hurry up and get better. Your Black Crow Gang is still waiting for you, isn't it?"
"Of course, I will."
Jacob responded, and Ivy sighed and smiled as she arrived at Jacob's workshop at the beginning, preparing to rest on the sofa where he was originally sleeping

The autumn in London is a bit chilly, but fortunately, the afternoon sun hangs above to drive away the coolness. The homeless on the streets of the city curl up in the corners of the buildings, their ragged clothes holding hands and pleading for their alms to passersby
A child ran into the dim alley and looked around in panic. Before he could react, he grabbed the boy's back collar with one big hand and threw it to the ground. The poor child was violently thrown to the ground without making a sound
"Damn thief, he dares to steal my bread."
As he spoke, the man kicked and cursed at the child lying on the ground. Faced with such a scene, the people around him chose to ignore and avoid each other, while the beggar on the side silently walked away
This kind of scenario is happening almost every day in this rapidly developing city, and although the situation has improved a lot recently, it still hasn't changed its essence
Perhaps the only thing that can give such poor people more is a compassionate gaze
I don't know how long it took, but the man finally stopped beating the boy, spat a mouthful of phlegm at the boy holding his head, and hurriedly left with malicious language
Maybe the injury was too severe, and the boy didn't get up from the ground for a long time
The pedestrians around remained silent and ignored him, avoiding him from the side. After a while, the poor child struggled to get up from the ground
He limped to a bench with his stomach in his hands and sat down, tears of unwillingness swirling in his eyes. He understood that if he hadn't stolen food, he would go hungry again on this day
The sharp contrast between the thin and weak body and the slightly oversized tattered jacket, as well as the passing pedestrians in gorgeous attire, seems to reveal the dark side of this city
"I'm a bit tired..."
The boy was wiping away tears from his face when the sound that appeared startled him. He looked up and saw a woman holding a cowhide paper bag standing in front of him
She was not dressed as glamorous as a noblewoman, only wearing a light colored long skirt without a skirt support, with a shawl draped over her shoulders for warmth. Apart from the earrings hanging on both sides, she had no extra jewelry, and her brown black hair was coiled behind her head
There were no signs of being dressed up8 on her fair face, with a gentle smile on her face, and her pupils reflecting a soft amber light in the sunlight
"May I sit next to you and rest?"
Seeing the little boy staring at her lost in thought, she asked in a soft voice
"Ah... of course you can"
Upon hearing her words, the boy hurriedly moved towards the chair to make way for a seat for the sudden appearance of the lady
After thanking herself, the woman sat down next to her. Perhaps feeling unwell, she covered her mouth and coughed lightly. The boy moved to the side again, afraid that the dirt on his body might accidentally rub against the woman's clothes. Then, he lowered his head and carefully scrutinized with his spare light
Is she a noblewoman? She doesn't look very similar, but the elegance in her behavior seems to be like a noblewoman, the little boy thought to himself
Not long after observation, the woman next to him seemed to want to remember something. She placed the item on her lap and began to search through the paper bag. The aroma of bread emanating from inside made the boy's mouth water uncontrollably, and his stomach, which had not been eaten for a long time, made a loud noise... He was really hungry
The lady heard the voice of the little guy next to her and smiled helplessly. She then took out a bread from the bag and handed it to him, which seemed to be freshly baked and emitting a fragrance
The boy looked at the food in her hand with both surprise and joy. He trembled and carefully reached out his hands to take it, then glanced at the person in front of him. Seeing her smiling and raising an eyebrow at him, he nodded affirmatively before wolfing down and starting to eat
Perhaps too focused on the food in his hand, the boy didn't notice that the person next to him had already stood up and left. By the time he finished eating, he saw that his side was already empty, leaving only another bread wrapped in absorbent paper and a white handkerchief pressed underneath that contained something unknown
The boy picked up bread and a handkerchief, carefully opened it, and found that there was a small amount of money wrapped inside. After counting, there was a total of four pounds, enough for him to spend a week without worrying about food
The boy looked up at the crowds of people coming and going, and then carefully wrapped hishandkerchief in his arms, grateful for this hard won charity in his heart
(II)
"Oh Miss Allen! You're finally willing to come back from outside. Give me the things in your hand quickly, you've worried me a lot."
A woman saw the person coming in, and her originally nervous face relaxed. She wiped the sweat off her body and came to the woman's side
"Your father instructed me to take good care of you while you were recuperating in London, but as soon as you arrived at your residence, you secretly ran out. If your father had found out..."
"He will punish me not to leave the room, Mrs. Green. I think you are too worried. I just had a minor illness, and it's not a big deal."
The lady shook her head indifferently and took off her shoes
"By the way, while wandering around, I found a good bakery. Do you want to try it?"
She handed the paper bag in her hand to the worried servant next to her, took a croissant and took a bite, showing a satisfied expression. The sunlight shone through the glass and into the house, which was a rare sunny day
"Miss, you are too stubborn. As your caregiver, I must always take care of you."
The girl finished the food in her hand, patted the remaining crumbs in her hand, and helped the wooden ladder handle to walk upstairs. When she heard her words, she could only shake her head and express her dissatisfaction
"Yes, yes, God, I'm too delicate, isn't I? Even just coughing makes you so worried," she said, and then went up the stairs to return to her room
She couldn't figure out why her body was in no big deal, just coughing frequently. Her father had to go to great lengths to send her to London and hire a caregiver to take care of her. The only benefit may be that she didn't need to learn the tedious etiquette during her illness. The heavy dress and the damn waistband tormented her a lot
Now she can take advantage of her illness to browse various places. Previously, she wanted to visit the British Library, and if possible, she would also like to go to the top of the Elizabeth Bell to observe this unfamiliar and mysterious city
As she rushed here this morning, she crossed the bridge over the Thames River and was fortunate enough to admire the riverbank in the morning while sitting on a carriage. Although the smell of the river was not satisfactory, the beautiful scenery was enough to arouse her interest in this city
"I'm ready to get familiar with this place now"
At that time, the girl in the carriage looked at the scenery outside the window with confidence and thought
It wasn't until she sneaked out and strolled around while the servants were moving things that she realized the city wasn't as beautiful as she had imagined
"Oh, by the way, miss! Before leaving, the gentleman instructed me to keep you obediently in the room and not run around. I think you must stay in the room for recuperation the day after tomorrow."
"What!"
Upon hearing these words, she stopped and immediately ran to the railing to look down, with a questioning tone in her tone
"Why! I just caught a small cold, why did my father do this?"
The girl became emotionally agitated and expressed great confusion and anger towards what her father had arranged for her. At this moment, she clenched her fists, but later calmed down when she saw the other person's helpless expression, as it had nothing to do with Mrs. Green herself
She suddenly remembered her long lost mother
Although it feels like making a big deal out of a molehill, as my father always does, he wishes to lock himself up forever, but this time it seems that he is really worried about himself
"Okay, okay... I will stay in my room obediently..."
The girl ultimately chose to obey her father's words. The caregiver breathed a sigh of relief when she saw her young lady agree, but the relaxation did not last long
"But since it's time to start recuperating the day after tomorrow, I can still go out, right? Mrs. Green?"
The girl poked her head out in anticipation and looked at the person downstairs. It wasn't until the other person nodded helplessly that she was willing to put her head back and walked briskly back to her room. She picked up a letter by the table, which was a letter his father had given her. She opened the envelope and looked up at the recipient above
Brenriel Allen, this is the girl's name
(III)
A light rain accompanied by night fell, and this busy city was finally willing to take a break. The noise outside gradually decreased, and the moon in the sky rose from the sky after the sun. Unfortunately, the thin dark clouds in the sky often blocked its light
And in a corner of the city, a figure sways and sways in a window of a house
"Brenriel... come on, believe in yourself..."
The girl grabbed the protruding stone wall from the window, stepped on the water pipe with her feet, and struggled to reach out to grab the branch on the opposite side. However, before she could catch it, she suddenly slipped and fell to the ground. Before the screams could be heard, she "plopped" into a haystack
"Cough, cough, cough... whoa... what a surprise! There's actually a pile of fallen leaves underneath."
The girl lay in the center of a pile of fallen leaves, feeling a little startled. Although the wet pile of leaves was very uncomfortable, she must be in a very awkward state now. However, with these pile of leaves, she was able to be cushioned when landing, so there was no pain on her body
She crawled out of the haystack, got up and patted the dust and fallen leaves on her skirt. Using the street lamp not far from the stone wall, she checked her clothes. Fortunately, there was no obvious dirt on her body, so there was no need to worry that Mrs. Green would see that she had gone out before
Thinking of Brenriel carefully opening her handbag and inspecting its contents - a small picture book, a charcoal brush, and a few pounds, seeing that nothing was missing, she pulled up the zipper and picked up the bag again. Looking around, she found that the entrance door was impossible to pass through, it was already locked, and the only way out
Her gaze finally stopped at the nearby corner of the wall, where wooden buckets filled with miscellaneous items and some boxes were piled up, and in her eyes, these were the best tools to escape
"Ha! I think there's nothing to stop me from going out now!"
Brenriel successfully climbed up the wall while stepping on these stacked boxes. He observed the surroundings and confirmed that there was no one standing at the same height as himself from the ground. With a burst of enthusiasm, he jumped down and supported the wall, stabilizing his swaying body to breathe a sigh of relief
If my father finds out that he's trying to run out and climb the wall, it's probably another criticism... Brenriel secretly rejoices in his heart. Fortunately, my father is not here now, and I have also successfully escaped from home
You know, she only has less than a day left, so she can still go out and take a look at it at night
"Now is only Brenriel's leisure time~" The girl laughed, as if the joy in her heart was written on her face
It's not raining much outside, so there's no need to hold an umbrella. In a good mood, she took a handbag and walked around the deserted street
Smelling the damp soil in the air, ignoring the scattered raindrops wetting my clothes, my skirt swayed with my posture and drew beautiful curves, while my low heeled boots stepped on the sink that had accumulated on the ground, allowing mud and water to splash onto my shoe upper
Finally, she stopped to take a deep breath and strolled along the street lamp, enjoying the tranquility of loneliness
Perhaps only in this way can she feel that "relaxed freedom"
Look at this bustling city, from the residential area to the vicinity of the square, even at night there are many pedestrians on the streets, which is not much different from where I used to live. No wonder London has become the economic development center of the British Empire
Just thinking about it, the rustling footsteps came from not far away, and the sound didn't sound like it was coming from around... more like... above?
Brenriel looked up in confusion, but unfortunately, except for some raindrops falling on her face, there was nothing else. Perhaps she had heard it wrong, so she shook her head and continued walking forward
With the passage of time, the rain also became less and less until there was no rain, and the number of pedestrians on the road became fewer and fewer. In the end, only she walked on the street, accompanied by the dim halo of the passing street lights
Brenriel's mood has gradually been replaced by worry from the beginning. The city shrouded in darkness may indeed be very charming, but beneath its charming
appearance, there is always danger, isn't it?
She is certainly very willing to appreciate its uniqueness, provided that there are no groups of people around who occasionally appear wearing red clothes and holding knives and guns. They have appeared more than once and looked at themselves with malicious eyes
It seems that this happy time is coming to an end
With a sigh, the girl reluctantly turned back to her original path. Although she hadn't seen anything interesting along the way, for her own safety, it was best to return to her residence as soon as possible, otherwise she didn't know what unexpected things would happen
Perhaps God heard her worry? Specially "caring" for this lonely girl preparing to go home
Not far away, the sound of whips and gunshots successfully made the girl stop and look back. Before she could react, the carriage had already rushed to her front, and she couldn't react at all. She was about to collide with herself,
"Hey, be careful!!!"
Amidst the shouting, the man driving the carriage immediately tightened the reins in his hand and quickly changed the route to avoid colliding with her. The woman standing behind the box was almost thrown off the carriage by the sudden turn, but fortunately she grabbed the side railing next to her
"Oh my god, what are you doing!!"
"Sorry, there was someone on the way"
Before the woman behind the car could speak again, gunshots could be heard not far away. The woman immediately stood up and refilled the gun in her hand, and the carriage quickly left. The carriage not far away also caught up
"Ah..."
Brenriel sat on the ground, putting down her arm that protected her head. Her body trembled as she watched the scene. She almost died under that carriage just now, but fortunately it was okay
She leaned against the wall next to her and tried to stand up, her legs feeling a bit weak due to excessive fright
"I really shouldn't have gone out..."
Looking at the mud, water, and stains on her clothes caused by a fall, she didn't get hurt, but it must have made Mrs. Green realize that there was definitely no good outcome. She regretted her choice to go out at night, but now she can only say that she had the misfortune to encounter such a thing, fortunately nothing happened
Okay... it's considered lucky in the midst of bad luck... at least not completely unlucky
"Is this...?"
She suddenly noticed something at her feet and took out a handkerchief to pick it up
Is it a book? There is a strange mark printed on the book case, which looks like it just fell off those two people in the car, and there are one or two stamps on the ground
I can't believe anyone still carries stamps with them? Brenriel was shocked by this, but out of kindness, he picked up the stamp before it was completely soaked in the rain on the ground
Hope it's theirs, even though my little life almost fell on them
If it weren't for not knowing each other and not seeing their faces clearly, but really wanting to kick the man driving recklessly... Brenriel angrily packed his things into his bag and prepared to leave, only to find a familiar figure rushing towards him in front
"Mrs. Green..."
After seeing who it was, Brenriel took a deep breath and his head drooped. She was sure that it was absolutely unlucky now
"Oh my goodness! Miss Allen, what have you been up to! Look at you, why don't you listen and sneak out? If it weren't for me checking if you're sleeping on time at night, I wouldn't have known you were sneaking out again! Do you know that I've been looking for you for a long time?"
The person in front of her was checking for any injuries while worrying and saying
Brenriel didn't speak behind her hands and stuck out her tongue. Mrs. Green breathed a sigh of relief when she saw that she was fine, and then put her hands on her waist. She was still wearing pajamas, so she must have noticed that she wasn't there and immediately ran out to find her
"I will write a letter to inform sir about this matter tonight. Starting from tomorrow, you must stay in your own room and not go anywhere."
"What! Cough cough..."
In the midst of panic, Brenriel had not finished speaking and immediately covered her mouth, coughing fiercely. Mrs. Green didn't get angry anymore when she saw her like this. She held her in pain and muttered to her
"Let's not mention anything else for now. Hurry up and go back to rest. I'll clean up this outfit when the time comes."
"Mrs. Green... could you please not tell my father tonight?"
Brenriel asked cautiously, but the other person's gaze immediately dispelled her sense of luck. Now she can only pitifully follow her home
It's really terrible... she thought to herself

This adventure has been going on for a long time.
You lean against a tree and sit down to rest, feeling a bit weak in your body.
What day is this? You may not remember clearly, but you know that the power of the current blizzard is much smaller. It may have been a week or half a month. You are fortunate to have survived under the constant feeding of an animal every day.
The sound of flapping wings came from around me again, you know, that magical eagle has returned.
This time it will take longer than before, almost half a day. What did he bring back this time? You curiously look towards the sound.
He was holding a branch with a huge red fruit hanging from it. In shock, you took the fruit from an unknown source.
He seemed exhausted, with all his wings spread out and nestled in the snow, looking a bit funny but also feeling quite cute.
"Thank you for your hard work."
Looking at his appearance, you carefully approached him and picked him up, placing him in your arms. At first, he struggled a bit, but later found that you persisted and allowed yourself to do so, retracting your wings.
You don't know where he got this from, it seems like he flew for a long time. You gently stroked his wings, but this time he didn't dodge, but just fell asleep in your arms.
He is really a big one, especially when he opens his wings. I can't rule out that he has been a bit weak these days. When you pick him up, you feel a bit tired. At first, you were so scared that you didn't dare to observe more. Now, when you look, you find that the eagle seems to be three or four times larger than a normal eagle.
Is this a wild animal? Your inner feeling is that what is in the zoo is indeed different from what is in the wild.
His feathers are really snow-white, with only brown feathers at the tail of his wings. His claws curl up, as if afraid of scratching you while sleeping. You can observe that there seems to be a wound on the right side of his eagle beak, and you can reach out and rub it along with your fingertips.
You watched as he suddenly opened his eyes and saw that it was you. He just gently bit your finger that you had just touched him, as if telling you not to touch it randomly.
You have a bad heart, laughing and teasing him with your fingers.
Fingers twirled in front of him, then dodged when he opened his mouth, dodged a few times, and actively approached him to bite. At this moment, the mischievous appearance reminded the eagle in his arms of someone.
Atel glanced at the human in front of him and buried his head under his wings, ignoring you.
He is too tired now and needs to replenish his sleep and energy, so he doesn't have the mood to make you happy.
Seeing him ignoring you, you had no choice but to give up and take off the scarf and spread it over him, while you put on your hat and took a bite of the unknown red fruit next to you.
Not to mention, it's quite sweet!
——————————————————————
(‖)
Your mother once told you that if one day you find yourself alone, go look around and believe that someone will be with you.
Your father once wrote a letter to you, saying, "My dear daughter, from the ends of the earth, this love will never disappear. I love you."
You think, they were ready to say goodbye long ago, but their sudden departure was like a nightmare lingering in your heart, like a beast tearing you apart when you were unprepared for fear.
Another nightmare
"Don't leave me..."
You murmured in your dream, your body constantly trembling.
Suddenly, your cheeks seemed to be rubbed against by something, and a sound came from your ear.
You slowly opened your eyes and looked up to see a pitch black scene. It was already dark at night, and you had fallen asleep for so long, covered in snow all over your body. If it weren't for the big guy in your arms delivering warmth to you, you might have frozen to death here.
"Hey... are you awake?" Your voice was hoarse
Alta ï r just called out softly, then looked around cautiously. You put him down, picked up the scarf, and stood up. The snow on your body fell due to the movement. You patted the remaining snowflakes on your body and tied the scarf. You saw the eagle in front of you spread its wings and flapped twice, as if stretching its lazy waist.
The blizzard seems to have come to an end, and the sky is gradually brightening. You look into the distance, raise your hand and rub your slightly frozen face hard, and then you sit back.
Alta ï r jumps onto your leg and you raise your hand to touch the feathers on his head.
"I want to wait until the sky brightens before setting off, is that okay?"
You asked softly, the light is still very dim now. After walking for a long time, your feet have already blistered and it hurts a bit. It may not be convenient to walk in the dark now.
The eagle in front of you understands what you are saying. He flapped his wings and flew to the branch above your head to observe the surrounding environment. He is checking if there is any danger nearby.
"Do you know my father's cabin? Do you know how far it is?"
You looked up at him and shouted in a low voice, while Atel looked down at you and flew into the distance. You see the red stripes disappear from your view, take a deep breath, and curl yourself up.
It seems that you need to wait for a long time.
Suddenly, a new brownish red color appeared in your field of vision, and you immediately looked up but didn't notice anything.
You rubbed your eyes and took another look.
It can be too dark, you think you made a mistake.
You pick up a nearby branch, lower your head bored, and draw a circle on the snow.
An apple is rolling towards you
At the moment you see the apple, you open your eyes wide and then look in the direction of the apple rolling over. Just now, behind the tree, a little panda peeked at you from behind.
Wait, why is that little panda still wearing blue clothes?
You picked up the apple on the ground and were about to get up, but when you looked up, you found that the little one had run without a trace, leaving you alone in the cold wind.
You stood up, glanced at the apple in your hand, and then looked at the position of the little panda just now, feeling very surprised.
Before you could think about it, there was a whistling eagle above your head.
You looked up into the sky and saw the eagle. You saw the fluttering red and recognized it.
Perhaps you instinctively lifted your arm when you saw him diving downwards.
"... Hey hey hey!"
Perhaps you underestimated the weight of Alta ï r or overestimated your arm strength. At the moment when Alta ï r landed on your arm, you couldn't bear the weight at once and leaned forward, splashing into the snow.
Alta ï r is not a big deal. He flew back up when you fell, and stood on your back after you were lying in the snow. He looked at you speechlessly.
"Puke cough cough..."
You ate a mouthful of snow, got up from the ground, and wiped the snow on your face with your sleeve, it was icy cold.
He jumped off your back and saw you standing up and flying over. This time Alta ï r wanted to stand on your shoulder, but you were startled and kept retreating, sitting in the snow.
This scene cannot be said otherwise, it can only be said that there is no tacit understanding
There's no way, you two pause this seemingly comical behavior. Alta ï r flew onto a branch and called out to follow you. You sighed and got up, following him on the journey of searching.

(Ⅲ)
In the past two or three days, this was a miracle. You think, the feeling of Robinson surviving on a deserted island was similar to yours, after all, he could live alone in the forest.
No, plus an eagle, thanks to this special friend, you have been able to survive these days. As someone like you who doesn't know how to hunt grains and has no self-protection ability, you probably have passed away long ago.
The long road leaves your footprints, you climb over the mountain, stroll to a cliff, and watch the sun rise again. This is the seventh time.
The not so dazzling sunlight shines on you, the blizzard has left and the sky is no longer gloomy. You see the sunlight casting a golden hue on the endless forest, even the morning mist is shrouded in shadows, and the pine and cypress below add a touch of life to the white world.
You are immersed in it, and suddenly an eagle howls from above your head, pulling back your consciousness. He hovers above your head, and you smile and wave at him before sitting on the snow. The eagle lands beside you, accompanying you to enjoy the scenery.
You reach out and gently touch him, the cold cannot erode your heart, you understand this unknown path, you are no longer alone.
————————————————————
"Father, it's been almost a month now..."
Jim sat on the sled, carefully observing every place he passed by, with a worried expression on his face.
Every morning and afternoon after you enter the forest, he and his father take time to patrol the edge of the forest.
Listening to his son's words, Treg didn't speak. He tightly grasped the reins in his hand and looked ahead seriously.
"Why can't we go a little deeper into the forest? I remember mischievous children often run into the forest... I think there's no need to be so afraid."
He desperately hopes that you are now near the edge of the forest, at least so that he can find you.
"Jim, the forest doesn't allow ignorant people to enter..."
"That's just a nursery rhyme, isn't it?" Jim retorted
"Didn't those children who entered the forest come back intact?"
Why do these adults always take a nursery rhyme seriously and set a rule for it? Jim sometimes doesn't understand.
"Because they are just children, they will be sent back."
"Oh, so the child was sent back from the forest because they are ignorant? This is unreasonable! Is it difficult for the forest to become a fairy?"
Faced with his son's incessant chatter, Treg remained silent for a long time, patiently waiting until he calmed down before continuing to speak.
"The forest has its guardians, Jim. We cannot enter the forest casually like children."
"What about Xiyou? She's not a child, we can't even determine her life or death..."
Looking at Jim who was somewhat eager, Treg sighed and pondered for a long time as if he was considering something.
He found a place to stop the sled and come down to feed the reindeer. Jim followed and jumped down. He kicked the snow on the ground with some annoyance, and only sat back on the sled when his father had fed the reindeer.
But the father did not pull up the reins, but took out a cigarette from his pocket, lit it with a match, and bit it without smoking.
Jim was taken aback for a moment. In his memory, his father rarely smoked. Treg looked at his son and put away his cigarette pack.
"Do you know her father?"
"Xiyou's father?" Jim hesitated for a moment, and Treg nodded. He tilted his head to one side and didn't know where to look, but his eyes showed complex emotions. The sunlight shone on his face, and Jim only understood regret.
"He... is a great father..."
——————————————————————
At night, a person wearing a cloak braved the heavy snowfall and knocked on the door of the Treg family.
Treg slowly opened the door and saw the face of the hooded man through the dim light. He showed a surprised expression in an instant and quickly pulled him into the room.
The room was dimly lit, only flickering candlelight illuminated it.
"Good brother! It's been too long since we last met. Are you okay?"
"It's okay, you know, they can't get into the forest, they can't do anything about me."
As they spoke, they looked at the woman holding a sleeping child on the side, and Treg waved at him.
"Phyllis, take your child upstairs first, and I'll have a chat with my old friend."
Watching her go upstairs, XiChengZhao took off his hood. He had grown a beard and looked much thinner. Treg wanted to pull him to the sofa to sit down and chat, but he refused.
"No, I can't stay here for too long. There's something I need your help with this time."
"You manage to say, my dear old friend, I will definitely do my best to help!"
Upon hearing Treg's agreement, he took out a box of wooden boxes from under his cloak and handed them to him, instructing him.
"This is what I want to send, you know the location, but please wait for two months before sending it over. It must be delivered to her hand, and the items inside are very important."
"Two months... okay, I promise you."
Treg took it with both hands, and the contents inside were heavy and unknown. As he was about to find a place to hide, XiChengZhao looked at the wooden box with a heavy gaze before suddenly calling out to him.
"Wait a minute."
As he spoke, he walked over and casually took off the pendant from his neck and put it into the wooden box.
"What are you doing? Without a pendant, you would be very dangerous in the forest!"
Faced with Treg's concerns, the man only smiled.
"No... I no longer need it..."
He brushed his hands over the surface of the wooden box, as if reluctant or bidding farewell... Suddenly, he lifted his head.
"You are the person I trust the most, and I have a request. If one day my daughter comes here to find something about me, could you please help her?"
Terry was not sure why he understood the future, but he understood the final meaning of this man's words... As he bid farewell, XiChengZhao patted his arm.
"The matter of things, please..."
"Don't worry."
After a moment of silence, they smiled at each other tacitly. He turned around and walked towards the snowy night, and Treg watched as his lonely figure completely merged into the darkness
And the green crystal pendant lay quietly in a wooden box filled with memories
——————————————————————
You struggled to walk with your legs in the snow that covered your thighs, with a swaying pendant hanging on your chest that shone brightly in the sunlight.
The eagle not far away stopped on the branch and stopped moving forward. You followed and saw him staring into the distance. You followed and looked over.
The scenery in front of you causes your pupils to contract suddenly. You immediately take out your notes, take out the photos inside, and hold them in front of you to compare
Same... the same!
I found it!!!

「Forest whispers」
(Ⅰ)
The nightmare has finally come to an end, as you slowly open your eyes
It's strange that you feel like you're still alive, and then carefully try to move your limbs, feeling like your hands and feet are still there. Support your body with your arms and then sit up.
The dizziness in your brain makes it difficult for you to fully wake up for a long period of time. You curl up your body, bury your head, and after a while, lift your head up.
You look at the hazy sky outside the cave entrance. Last night's blizzard ended at some point, and cold light shone into the dimly lit cave. The snow outside seems to have submerged your thighs.
Build a bonfire around oneself, and the faint sparks burning on it indicate that the fire has just extinguished.
Who can save themselves from a pack of wolves?
You touch the cloth tied to your head, trying to recall memories from before falling into a coma, recalling that besides yourself, your head was hit by a stone as you rolled down the slope.
You didn't expect someone to be in the forest, but when you think about him saving you, your heart is very grateful to him. You don't know when that person will come back. During this period, you sit quietly on the ground waiting.
Not long after, you seemed to remember something. You reached out and touched the inner layer of your jacket, realizing that the book was still there. You immediately patted your chest and breathed a sigh of relief.
Wait a moment
You stop and stiffly raise your hand to touch your neck. The empty neck makes you realize that the pendant your father left for you is missing.
This kind of premonition is not good. You woke up in a hurry, but your eyes immediately turned black and your body tilted backwards.
You quickly covered your head, took a few steps back, leaned against the stone wall behind you, and barely stabilized your body. Wait until the nausea in your throat gradually subsides, then slowly open your eyes.
I don't know if it's because you haven't eaten for a long time, which makes your stomach very uncomfortable.
Take a deep breath, lift your head, and slowly let out a sigh. Hot air quickly dissipates in cold air. When you were thinking about going out to find something and starving to death on the road, a loud noise came from the entrance of the cave. You look over as soon as you hear the commotion.
A shadow landed steadily on the open space outside the cave entrance, and you were stunned at the sight.
An eagle
It has snow-white feathers and brown tail wings, larger than a typical eagle, and golden pupils.
At this moment, he came here holding the wild rabbit he had hunted, and you could even see the rabbit dripping blood.
When he approached, he noticed that you were awake. In his eyes, you seem very scared now, standing on the wall behind him, vigilantly staring at yourself. He stopped moving forward.
"..."
Seeing him not moving, you swallowed your saliva. You are not foolish. You know this is a carnivorous animal, and the Swiss knife that Uncle gave is also missing. Now you have nothing to defend against. Observing his physique, you nervously bit his slightly cracked lips, imagining an opportunity to escape from here.
Did he occupy his lair himself? No, shouldn't birds build nests on trees or cliffs.
He seems to be carrying prey, will he let himself go?
Thinking of this, you cautiously leaned against the wall, trying to bypass him and leave the cave.
You gently move your body, even your breathing becomes careful, trying to avoid disturbing the animals in front of you as much as possible.
As you were about to leave here, a crisp voice caught your attention.
You see something falling next to the eagle's claws. Upon careful observation, you will find that the thing emitting faint green fluorescence is the pendant you lost. The eagle just turned its head slightly to stare at you, and you broke out in a cold sweat, wanting to know why this animal had such a strange look.
You hesitated for a moment and didn't understand why your thing was on an animal. You looked outside and then glanced at the pendant. The temperature in the air seems to have significantly decreased, so cold that it makes people shiver.
The situation was deadlocked for a long time, and in the end, you were defeated.
Anyway, there is also danger when you go out. If this guy really wants his own life, he can't be so quiet there. You gritted your teeth and decided to sit against the wall and gamble.
As expected, after sitting down, the eagle did nothing to you. He takes the prey to a corner, including your pendant.
Seeing him biting prey with his sharp eagle claws and beak, you curled up silently in the corner, imagining what it would look like if that claw landed on you, and whether you would die like that wild rabbit.
At the same time, you are also wondering why the person who saved you before did not appear.
In no time, you could smell the pungent and bloody smell, and your stomach suddenly felt even more uncomfortable. You frowned and covered your nose, trying to avoid the unpleasant smell as much as possible.
You must be very timid now.
When you were wondering if you were about to meet your parents later, suddenly a bloody, skinned rabbit meat was thrown in front of you, and the eagle came over at an unknown time.
Your gaze froze between the eagle and the flesh for a second, stomach nausea accompanied by colic stimulating the nerves. In the end, you couldn't help it anymore. You covered your mouth and stood up, ignoring the eagle in front of you as it crossed over him. You stumbled away from the entrance of the cave and found a tree, holding onto the trunk to retch.
Your stomach is in turmoil, and the acid in your stomach is burning and painful through your esophagus. However, you can't vomit anything and feel uncomfortable, tears streaming down your face.
Finally, the nausea subsided, and your brain became even heavier, as if it had been filled with lead. You slowly stood up while holding onto the tree trunk, but before taking two steps, your feet softened and fell into the snow.
You saw the eagle flying towards here and landing in front of you. You closed your eyes until you felt the beak gently pushing your head, and then you opened your eyes to look over.
In an instant, those beautiful and collapsing memories flickered before your eyes, tears filling your eyes and a weak voice coming from your sore throat.
"I'm so tired..."
You gave up, your doubts about yourself finally defeated persistence. Thinking back on your previous efforts, you feel that everything you have done is actually in vain.
The animal in front of you seems to be able to understand and stops moving, standing straight in front of you and looking down at you. Its eyes seem to be examining and observing. At this moment, you feel so small.
You close your eyes again and accept everything, quietly waiting for the arrival of death
The anticipated pain did not come, you only felt as if something was placed in your palm.
You lift your hand, and when you see what's on your hand, your heart hurts like being cut by a blunt knife, and the things in front of you become blurry again.
You silently raised your arms to cover your eyes, bit your lips hard, and the smell of rust spread in your mouth. Your sobs were suppressed in your lungs, and it took you a long time to struggle out of the choking.
"... I'm sorry... Dad... I'm really... I'm so useless..."
Your small body trembled and twitched in the snow, and finally, you clenched onto the pendant and cried loudly. The pent up grievances and inferiority complex finally came out.
——————————————————
(‖)
Alta ï r quietly looks at you
And you lay helpless in the snow and cried for a long time, speaking many words intermittently in your crying.
You have belittled yourself to be worthless, described yourself as a blindly confident person, and said that you stubbornly pursue what you want without considering the consequences. Now, do you doubt that everything you do is right?
If you hadn't come here, perhaps you would have lived a normal life, at least not in a state of hunger and cold.
But if you want to find the thing mentioned in your notes, what would make your father go all out to find it.
You don't understand why that thing could make the father abandon his life like this, disregarding his mother and himself.
Alta ï r, listening to your description, doesn't actually feel that you're not as foolish as you described yourself. On the contrary, he thinks that you actually have more courage and rationality than many guys, and you just lack experience.
All living beings always come to a standstill in the face of the unknown, but as long as desire can cover fear, they will move forward regardless of everything. At that time, how much more can they discern right from wrong in their choices?
He knows the truth you don't know, but he doesn't intend to let you know. Alta ï r has roughly understood your purpose, as your father guessed, you will come here because of him.
So, will you give up on yourself? Will we continue to move forward for the so-called truth.
This makes Alta ï r curious, he wants to see how this weak human will make choices when facing adversity, and will you lose yourself in the forest?
The blizzard has temporarily stopped, as if giving you a chance to catch your breath, but the sunlight hidden by the black clouds does not shine on you.
You may be tired from crying and your voice gradually decreases, eventually turning into a suction sound.
After a long period of sadness, you seem to have calmed down. Although your stomach is still uncomfortable and your head is heavy, you still try to sit up from the snow as much as possible.
The wind around is not strong, but it still hurts when it blows on your face. You wipe away the tears on your face and look at the pendant tightly held in your hand.
The transparent green crystal reflects light through your fingertips. You lower your head and hang the pendant around your neck again, turning your gaze to the animal that has been quietly beside you. You just stare at him like this.
Unlike the previously lifeless gaze, you are filled with new colors as if finding hope, and your green pupils are like the newly sprouted green buds of spring. Without the previous vigilance and defense, it feels like being certain that the beast in front of you will not harm you.
Alta ï r is not sure why you trusted him after crying a lot, but when you reached out and tried to touch yourself, he didn't dodge, and you only touched his feathers and withdrew your hand.
"Thank you..."
You thanked him, but your voice was very hoarse. You naturally didn't know that he saved you. You might be thanking him for not eating yourself, or maybe thanking someone else.
You have a vague guess that this raptor who did not attack you may be the animal hastily described in your father's notes, and he has indeed been by your side all this time.
You got up and walked towards the cave entrance, Alta ï r observed your back and found that you were a bit shaky as you walked.
Seeing that you are still very weak, he temporarily dispelled the idea of leaving for a while to find that guy, spread his wings and flew low to follow you back to the cave.
He landed to the side, and you looked at the small cave, surrounded by some dry branches and gravel. You picked up some dry branches from the ground and placed them on the burnt fire, squatting beside him, pulling out your clothes pocket, and finally found a flattened matchbox inside.
Some matches are damp, and some even break due to compression. You try your best to make them rub and ignite, but unfortunately it takes a few to ignite.
As you see the matchbox gradually bottoming out, you feel a bit flustered, even your hands trembling, holding your breath and swiping each match.
And Alta ï r is keeping a distance from you and observing your every move.
Finally, with a swipe, a small flame successfully burned in the air. Your eyes reflected the light of the fire, and you breathed a sigh of relief. The corners of your mouth slightly raised, and your furrowed eyebrows also relaxed.
Alta ï r pondered that although he has been with your father for a while and sometimes he can also transform into a human, it is because he can better communicate with humans or facilitate things that animals cannot do.
Human beings are able to make weapons with their nimble hands, and in this regard, Alta ï r has to admit that it is indeed very convenient.
At this moment, you don't know what the animals around you are thinking inside. Carefully protect the flame with your hands to prevent the wind from blowing out the hard won fire. You gently place it on a dry branch and watch as the tongue of the fire gradually devours it. The flame burns stronger and stronger, burning life to provide warmth.
With fire, your attention came to the piece of rabbit meat. Slowly, you approached and picked it up with your hand, flipping it over. You found that the fur and internal organs of the rabbit meat were treated very clean.
But you remained silent, taking your prey back to the fire, thrusting it through branches, and then grilling it on the fire.
You have the same green pupils as your father, very beautiful. Alta ï r noticed that there are actually many similarities between your father and daughter.
Especially under the firelight, your appearance with a faint smile
But your words are obviously not as much as your father's. He is simply a talkative person, but you are a very quiet little guy, and your thin face, even though you are wearing thick clothes, still cannot see how fat you are. Alta ï r has already imagined how thin and small you are.
Perhaps he has been staring at you for too long, and you feel something looking towards him.
The eagle in front of you turned its head away and stopped looking at you. You smiled at him, picked up the roasted rabbit meat for a while, and looked at it. It seemed like it had not been cooked yet, so you put it back.
Alta ï r clearly remembers that humans can eat raw meat? For example, her father, who once witnessed his father bite into flesh mixed with blood.
Okay, actually upon closer reflection, the expression on that guy's face when he was eating seemed not very good, and there was no fire to grill cooked meat at that time. Under extreme hunger, the raw and cooked meat seemed to be unimportant.
But Alta ï r knows that people are prone to freezing to death. They don't have wings to keep warm like themselves, nor do they have thick fur like other animals to isolate themselves from the cold.
So when you fainted, he specifically "greeted" the previous wolf pack in order to find the source of the fire, and obtained matches from them, but only a box with very few contents inside.
At that time, you couldn't be left alone for too long. Alta ï r had a good temper and didn't visit them again, just because the matches could burn.
The wolf pack is too chaotic now, and the new wolf king who leads them has not been selected yet, otherwise they wouldn't have run to his territory
It seems we need to find a time to visit that guy.
The meat tasted oily due to the high temperature of the fire, and the meat aroma gradually spread in the air. Perhaps because she wanted to be warmer, Alta ï r leaned closer to you.
You noticed his approach, moved aside to make room, and then tilted your head to look at him.
"Do you know my father?"
Your eyes were filled with anticipation, as if waiting for something, surrounded only by the sound of charcoal burning. Seeing no response from him, your gaze dimmed and you pulled the corners of your mouth with a somewhat self deprecating smile. You lowered your head and turned the stick in your hand, causing the meat to flip over.
"What am I doing now... haha..."
I was actually asking an animal that couldn't speak.
Alta ï r actually doesn't intend to become a human and communicate with you. Firstly, it's unnecessary, and secondly, doing so may scare you.
Just as he was thinking about whether to respond to you in any other way, he felt a gentle touch.
You don't know when you reached out to touch him.
This action almost made Alta ï r spread her wings and want to dodge, the last brave human
Okay, that human is your father... of course, he won't peck at you with his sharp beak like he did to your father.
The eagle in front of you did not dodge, but you could feel his body stiffening by touching it.
But you didn't stop the movement in your hands, very gently touching the tail wing from the back of your neck along the feather, and repeating this action continuously.
Finally, Alta ï r couldn't bear your touch like this and jumped aside, wanting to stay away from you. If it were another human, he would have bitten that guy's hand with his beak long ago.
Your courage also grew stronger, reaching out to him again and seeing Alta ï r repeatedly retreat, you were amused by his action and laughed heartlessly.
"You are much scarier than me, why are you still afraid that I won't succeed?"
After finishing speaking, you withdrew your hand and lifted the rabbit meat again to take a look. The outer skin of the meat was burnt yellow, and it smelled okay. It looked like it had already been roasted.
Just you're not sure if your stomach will completely waste after eating
You glanced at the beast far away from you and thought for a moment.
"Do you want to eat it?"
"..."
"Okay, it seems you don't need it."
After speaking, you silently lowered your head to eat. Alta ï r felt a bit helpless. He wasn't hungry, and if he was, he would go hunting on his own.
You chew your food, even though it has no taste or even a bloody smell, but you know you must finish it because you want to survive.
Work hard to survive until you find that wooden house or step out of the forest.
You still have friends outside the forest waiting for you to appear in front of them, right?
Thinking about it, a tear fell from your eye socket, you silently rubbed it off with the back of your hand, and then pretended to eat as if nothing had happened.
You feel very uncomfortable
The eagle not far away keenly perceives your emotions and sees your small movements.
But whether it's at the beginning of the meeting or before the crying, you seem to have been trying to cover up your sadness as much as possible, only revealing it when your emotions collapse.
This reminds Alta ï r of your father, who always looks playful but keeps everything hidden in his heart. He once promised this human request that if he encounters his child, he must take good care of her.
He has always kept his promise... including the time he promised to detonate the explosives... and only he knows about it.
However, recalling the scene of meeting this child, I didn't expect her to be so embarrassed.
If he hadn't found that pendant, you might have died in that blizzard, and he would never be able to fulfill that promise.
He will fulfill his promise, but whether you are qualified to stay here still depends on yourself.
I hope you don't disappoint him

(Ⅲ)
Jim lay tossing and turning in bed, unable to sleep. Looking at the skylight in front of him, his eyes widened. The window was covered in thick white snow, and Jim remembered that when it wasn't snowing, he could see the brilliant starry sky through the glass.
But a blizzard came, and the window was covered in snow. He couldn't see the so-called stars, just like he didn't know what the girl was doing under the heavy snow.
Although we haven't been together for a long time, he is very worried about your current situation. It's hard to imagine what difficulties such a thin and inexperienced girl will encounter and whether her life will be in danger.
After much thought, Jim still got up and got off the bed.
He plans to go to the edge of the forest to see
After putting on his clothes, he gently opened the room door and tiptoed downstairs. Through the window on the first floor, he could see that the snow outside had decreased slightly, and a cold light appeared on the horizon.
He picked up the key from the table and walked towards the door.
"Jim, where are you going?"
The familiar sound behind him startled Jim, and he slowly turned around. In the darkness, his father stood behind him at some point.
"Father... I..."
Jim, feeling guilty, hid the key in his hand behind him and tried to pull it away with a broken lie in front of his serious father.
Before he could even think of an excuse, his father had already taken the key behind him and opened the door. The cold wind outside blew in through the crack in the door, while his father only glanced at him.
"Follow up, go together."
At this moment, Jim realized that his father was already dressed for going out. He instantly understood his father's meaning and nodded excitedly to follow him.
————————————————————
The cold wind outside is still chilly, and the snow always covers you like a little snowman in no time. You struggle to walk in the snow, but suddenly your feet slip and lie on the thick snow. You slowly get up and look up at the eagle standing on a branch not far away.
The eagle was fixed there watching you, with a faded red ribbon tied to his feet. The touch of red fluttered with the cold wind in a white world, especially dazzling.
You gritted your teeth and stood up, walking towards the only red color.
No matter what lies ahead, you think, what could be worse than death? You have already lost enough.
