LUPUSTRISKELION [ HIATUS ]

This blog will be going on indefinite hiatus until I feel like coming back. I am not abandoning Derek - I will have another blog to play him, but it will be private and it will be prose. It isn't beyond my notice that most people aren't interested in committing to anything beyond ships, instant gratification by way of icon/gif chats, and one liners (or further more, never actually rping anything out, just saying things happen or did happen or will happen). 

You roleplay how you roleplay, for whatever reasons you have. That's fine. Me? I roleplay to write. To explore the character. I build my muse and to do build my abilities as a writer because that is what I love. I may be borrowing characters from other canon but I put as much effort into world building and character building as I do with my original characters. I realize it isn't fair to expect the same from everyone - so I'm not.

I don't. My expectations are now null and void. I expected you would read my rules but most of you didn't. I expected you understood what it means in my rules when I say I am mainly prose. I was wrong to expect these things of you. I may reach out to you on my new prose account but only if I know you want to write, that you are in some way committed and invested. Otherwise, I'll come back here when I stop feeling let down by the roleplay community for having standards. Do I sound bitter?

I'm just fucking exhausted. I have felt discouraged and it's a pain in the ass because I love Derek and I want to write for him. So, you're all great, okay? I mean, don't think that I believe otherwise. But what you want and what I want -- it isn't matching up. And I don't want to put unfair expectations on you. Thank you.

So, to be honest, I've been busy with school but also with other accounts where people have actually made an effort to get to know me and have been very welcoming and lovely. There are, of course, a handful of you who have kept up communication while I haven't been on this blog, but frankly, the rest of you probably don't even know my name and I genuinely feel under appreciated as a person, not as a roleplayer, but as a human being, and so -- I don't know.

I'm not leaving this blog dead in the water, I've worked too fucking hard for that. But I still have a load of school stuff coming up and since 99% of you couldn't be bothered to send me an ask or add me on kik or even indicate that you know I exist, I might just stop coming on Derek until things settle down. I assume that will be after Teen Wolf ends for the season in which case we will see whose still interested in writing with me, if anyone. I'm also a bit put off at the amount of attention other Derek blogs receive, praise and love and encouragement and did you know, since last summer, I've never gotten anything like that?

{ Just a head's up - if you aren't here, it doesn't mean you suck. It means we have never interacted and I don't promo/rec blogs unless I can speak from experience, so. You're all wonderful, and talented and lovely.

                           Also, I cannot speak for shipping preferences but I do know these Derek's are here for more than shipping and have displayed wonderful and consistent characterization. As a Derek, it can be very difficult to find partners once people realize you aren't there to ship or smut for the hell of it and Derek writers are worth more than that.

                   These blogs below are ones I've had the pleasure to write with personally, or I know they are great via reliable sources. They aren't regularly heavy on the porn or smut, they are genuinely respectful human beings, and I encourage you to approach them for plot or friendship.  Please be sure to read their guidelines! }

Abigail! Abu is a fantastic Stiles and I know many of you probably interact with her on that blog, but did you know she is also a fantastic Derek? The same attention is given to Derek as she gives to Stiles to ensure her replies are well written and in character without being a carbon copy of the Derek we see on the show (because we love him but this is roleplay and creative licence while remaining true to the canon vision is nice to see).

Derek is Derek and this mun manages to remain interesting and exciting without falling into many of the shipping traps or lazy habits I've come to see in the roleplay community. Even though Derek is not Abu's main blog, she is always happy to plot and explore behind the scenes with world building and ooc chats. As for Abu herself? I have found a wonderful friend in this girl and she takes an active part in our friendship which has blossomed into fantastic chemistry ic.

She is always there to listen to ideas and brainstorm and elaborate and explore and it is one of the things I really treasure in my writing partners. I've yet to experience any of the fandom drama on her dash or off it and that is both refreshing and welcome. You should totally follow this Derek, especially if you are looking for an easy going mun with great writing skills and a fantastic personality.

Alright, so here is the deali-o. I haven't actually had the pleasure of writing with this mun, or getting to know them ooc, but I know a few of my partners have and they seem freakin' smitten. Which means one of two things - this Derek is a great Derek who pays attention to detail, enjoys exploring canon but also enjoys alternative storylines etc, is fun to write with and consistently contributes to the thread or my friends are all under some nefarious plot and have likely been given love potion. Since love potions are illegal, I must assume it is the first and that means, I have to recommend this Derek! So much of this community is people feeling insecure about other people who play the same characters and I am happy to share the stage with this Derek, who really seems to care about the character and their roleplay partners. You should totally check them out!

    This is not a representation of all the fantastic Derek blogs and I encourage you all to adopt a Derekmun and love them. These are just the couple off the top of my head at the moment, those blogs really stand out (I don't follow many Derek blogs on this account) but keep an eye out because once I get on my other accounts, I'm sure to find other Derek blogs worthy of love and attention while I'm busy with school!
