I am exactly 50/50 on whether or not Frank Is In a Coma is the episode that "gets pretty emotional" Kaitlin was talking about. There's multiple points that could lead it in either direction, funnily enough:

It's the 2nd episode of the premiere of the Season, which seems very out of place for an emotional episode (more-or-less always reserved for the finale), but it's also the episode following the Abbott Crossover, which is bound to bring up to 10x Sunny's average viewership in, and therefore might be the "best" (a balance of Sunny's humour but also emotional depth and complexity (especially when it comes to family trauma)) they want to put forward for bleedover viewers.

This episode is (still technically assumed to be) written by the Chernins, who historically write more insane, fun episodes (Jersey Shore, Thundergun, Boggs, Slopes), but it's being written by the Chernin's post The Mick, in which they spent 3 years writing a great character for Kaitlin. If there's going to be some good stuff for Kaitlin this season, they would be the guys to write it.

Based on (pretty major) spoilers for this episode, there's some idea that this plot could be very goofy, however if that's not from the get-go and in fact a twist/reveal, it wouldn't necessarily negate the emotional performance Kaitlin could deliver (it could almost even heighten it...)
