Oh yeah, if anyone ever wants to submit a soldier idea, my ears are always open! Just remember, it's a modern setting so keep that in mind, but XCOM is a bit more accepting of personality quirks given people who can fight the alien menace are sometimes in short supply~

Fuck it time for an example soldier
Tumblr media
Name: Annie "Anarchy" Chase Class: Rocketeer Health: 5 Move: 6 Aim: 5+ Will: 7+ Weapon: SMG/Rocket Launcher
Bio: Annie was found waging a one woman war on the aliens with a supply of military grade explosives she refuses to disclose the origin of. She was promptly recruited by XCOM for her skills and let loose on the alien menace. When in command, Annie favors aggressive tactics with a penchant for overkill, and is more likely to destroy significant obstacles than circumvent them.

So I've decided that for my XXXCOM idea, I'll be working on a stripped down version of the XCOM mechanics, using a d10 system for determining outcomes. Dice rolls will technically be visible to the audience but contained to a spoiler menu with a log for the turn, with the meat of the fights being presented in prose.
This does leave a thought of how to present the Aim stat in a soldiers bio, namely if I want it to reflect how likely an unmodified shot is to hit, or what it will have to roll on the die. For an example, take a rookie with 60% base chance to hit.
Option A:
Aim: 6
Option B:
Aim: 5+
Decisions, decisions...

For the whole "getting pinned down and fucked silly" aspect of XXXCOM, my current thoughts are that there'll be an Armor Break condition that leaves soldiers vulnerable to getting fucked. Easiest way to enter that condition is taking enough damage, but I imagine there'll be circumstances that inflict it directly~
What I'm currently settling on is just what the consequences of getting railed are. Aliens busting a fat load in your womb is a good way to get pregnant, but is that on a timer, or a random chance each turn. Does getting railed inflict further health damage? That might actually depend on the enemy, but getting your womb basted will probably take you out of the fight.
ADDENDUM: Actually, maybe make the Will stat relevant, getting railed risks Mind Break and Will is the stat for resisting that. Just spitballing ideas so they don't boil in my brain.

On the mechanical side again I think I've figured out a good middle ground between the readers giving orders and the battles not taking for fucking ever. Basically, instead of of having the readers vote on a course of action for every single turn, they will vote on a squad leader at the start of each mission, and give her broader orders to carry out. She will follow them as best she can and direct the squad with them in mind, but her own personality is bound to leak through in the methods she chooses. She will occasionally radio back into command when she needs advice or fresh orders, at which point the audience votes on a course of action once more~
Sure I'll still being playing chess with myself so to speak but that's my secret cap: I kinda enjoy doing that~

Also, I feel comfortable revealing this altered enemy cause they are among the first things fought, but I'll be replacing the Drones from vanilla XCOM with Drone Hounds
Tumblr media
They will be serving the role as early game harassment unit, being highly agile and helping Sectoids by flanking your soldiers to flush them out of cover or hunting isolated soldiers~

To talk about not math for a moment with my XXXCOM project (better name pending), let's talk aliens! The most obvious change is that the aliens are horny as hell, ready to fuck earthlings silly as part of their invasion~ Indeed, this seems to be their explicit goal, with more abductions and the like instead of just wiping humans out in swathes.
This is reflected in their weaponry: instead of the typical Plasma weapons used by aliens in regular XCOM, XXXCOM aliens use Disruptor weapons. These do still absolutely suck to get hit by, but they don't turn humans into puddles of goo. Instead, they are more effective at destroying clothing and other materials, instead stunning living organisms hit by them. I won't go into full details right here cause that's part of what in game Research projects are for, but yeah, rest assured your soldiers aren't getting blasted to bits, instead they're getting their clothes blasted off and their wombs blasted with cum~

Bored in bed so you get to hear my mathematic nonsense.
So, one of the big hangups I'm running into with just ripping F28 directly is the nature of dealing with durable enemies. See, in F28 a unit generally has between 1 and 3 wounds but after being hit the attacker rolls against their Defense stat and cranking that sucker up is how you get harder to kill enemies. X-COM meanwhile, if an attack hits, it does its damage, but tougher enemies can have a lot more health. So what's the issue?
The viability of sustained small arms fire.
Every hit gets a big guy a little closer to death, even if it potentially takes a bunch of them, but with the F28 system as is small arms fire will simply annoy tough enemies. A few lucky shots might do some damage but the rest don't actually contribute to killing them. That works alright for the kind of game F28 is, you hit the big target with weapons specifically meant to counter them, but doesn't vibe as well with X-COMs default combat assumptions.

Okay now that I've gotten the pained shrieking out of my system, currently working on a potential mechanical framework for an XCOM Quest, and torn between three options
Option 1, the Vibes System. Players propose a plan, I consider the risk reward ratio, roll a d100 and higher numbers work out better, lower numbers work out worse. This is the easiest system to implement, but makes it very hard for the audience to actually predict the result of their vote cause they have very little to base their choices off of beyond Vibes.
Option 2, the Existing System. In this route, I lift a system wholesale from some skirmish game to use for mechanical resolution. Currently I'm looking at F28: War Always Changes as a base to work with, since it's reasonably flexible and can even accommodate player actions outside of normal gameplay considerations (being designed with the possibility of Game Master run Narrative play). However, some of the base math doesn't line up great with situations expected of XCOM. I won't go into the full math right now cause sleepy but the odds are off in ways that people who are used to what works in XCOM will notice, "Hey, this feels weird."
Option 3, the Modified System. I'd still use some existing system as a base because I'm not fucking insane but I'd look at overhauling the underlying random numbers to more line up with the XCOM experience. As an example, I could switch F28 from a d6 system to a d10 and replacing toughness rolls with variable damage and everyone having multiple hitpoints. This would require more initial setup on my part ripping some of the guts out of the system and stuffing new ones back in, but would also mean I could lift a bit more math straight from XCOM itself and that people more familiar with the series would be able to more readily jump right in and make educated decisions.
So yeah, a question of how much effort I want to out in and how close I want to run to source material. It's taking up a surprising amount of brain space right now, so wish me luck!

Erotic Magic Items: The Cowbell Collar of Constitution
Tumblr media
This small band of leather, dyed and patterned to match the hide of a dairy cow and adorned with a small golden cowbell, has been enchanted with unique spellwork, making it a powerful magic artifact, but with some rather unwieldy side-effects.
While attuned to the item, your Constitution score becomes 25 and all scores associated with it increase as needed. In addition, you become immune to the exhausted condition, able to go days and even weeks without rest.
Curse. This item is cursed—once attuned to this item, you cannot unattune to it, and you cannot remove it unless by a Remove Curse or Wish spell. In addition, whenever you get hit with an attack, move more than ten feet in combat, or make an Athletics or Acrobatics check, the bell on the collar rings and you must make an Intelligence saving throw DC 18. For every failed save, your Intelligence score decreases by 1, and for every two failures, one of the following properties affects you.
If the wearer is male: Your cock increases in length by an inch and girth by half an inch.
If the wearer is female: Your breasts increase in size by a cup, with lactation after DD-cups. Your ass also increases by one size.
Once the wearer’s Intelligence drops to a -3 modifier, they undergo a final transformation—horns form on either side of their head over their temples, their ears elongate into black and white cow ears, and a black and white cowtail extends from their tailbone. In addition, you lose all sense of self and are overwhelmed by an instinctual need to breed the nearest viable creature.

So I've been thinking on that game concept from earlier because I have strange interests and I think angle I want to shoot for with protagonist is mischievous succubus with ability to grow a dick on command. This is because I like cute girls but also want to see cute girls railed and, and this is crucial, having to lose repeatedly for the content you're here for would fucking suck in a Roguelike.

Hmmm, one question to start with for this project is male or female protagonist. The works I'm inspired by have gone either way, so a bit of the question is getting fucked or doing the fucking, which in turn goes to the question of one girl getting fucked by a bunch of different things or one guy fucking a bunch of different girls. This would probably also change the kinds of maps used since they would be fairly different circumstances. Just trying to get the BIG design questions out of the way early.

After replaying a couple games I kinda want to take a crack at a new project style. This developer took the approach towards roguelites of hand crafting a bunch of small maps and picking at random from relevant pool for the zone you're in and populating them semi randomly. It honestly plays pretty nice? Good mix of allowing distinctive areas and keeping things fresh, might brainstorm something inspired by their formula...
