"Alright, if I make a jump shot for the eight-ball to the left corner pocket, from this position, what do I get?" A pastor's daughter probably shouldn't be one to hustle people out of money. However, it did help pay for a few meals and adventures during her college run. It wasn't until she got to college that she learned how to play pool from this meticulous frat bro who knew the front-to-back the game of pool yet had zero self application for real things in this life. At least he helped her and now she got to show of her skills to a growing crowd of witnesses. "Surely, you'll make it worthwhile."

"Oh my." It was like a terrible accident that you could not refrain yourself from watching. It was probably one of the most awkward first date encounters that Luisa had seen to date. A part of her was honestly glad that she had no interest in that realm. Swiping seemed like the only plausible solution right now and she'd rather be alone then resort to that. "He just said he lived in his mother's basement and actually isn't a lawyer." On cue, the girl got up and threw a drank in his face. "Total freeloader."

oh. she absolutely cannot watch this. the secondhand embarrassment is just too much. turning away from the scene in front of her, she subtly looked at the person next to her as she mumbled, " i'm honestly hoping that the ground would just open up right now and swallow us whole. this is just too painful to watch. "I mean, it is the body's way of telling you it needs a moment to reboot though." Her parents had been hard workers themselves and on the rare occasion did she catch her father snoozing away in his office. Always with a fifteen-minute timer when he did. A simple way to rejuvenate the body to continue on working towards completing the remaining tasks of any given day. "Well thank you," she smiled at the blonde. "That's a really kind offer. Lucky for you, I'm a cheap date," she smiled. A simple caramel latte and plain croissant usually did the trick. "Are you a regular caffeine enthusiast?"

Melanie chuckled. "I was raised to believe taking a nap mid-day was very wrong." Mostly because her mother was always passing out on the sofa and she promised herself she would be different, so naps were out of the question. "An affogato sounds like a great idea, thank you, please allow me to pay for whatever you're getting." She offered, that way she wouldn't have to try to find a place that sell ice cream and she could still use her place in line.

"Sometimes I wonder what I've gotten myself into. One of my kids today asked me if I was a 'rizzler' and that they wanted to set me up with their uncle." The Suarez immediately had no idea what her lovely fifth-grade Trent was talking about. He went on to explain how it was another term for flirting and having good banter by was of providing her with definition of rizz like she was on stage for the national spelling bee competition seeking clarity of the word. Luisa was finishing up her last note that she didn't get too before getting to indulge i her happy-hour date with Maura. "So, let me ask you Ms. Cortes...do you have rizz?" she chuckled.

Closed: @clint-bennet – Attempting to rid her nerves prior to her lessons.

The most she felt comfortable doing out in the water was swimming prior to coming to California. While in college, Luisa regularly took surfing and paddle board lessons, feeling more of an intermediate in those arenas which was a win in itself. One of her students had told her that they had gone scuba diving over the holiday break and she figured why not her? Calling the local company, the desk associate of Air Bubbles referred her to one of the instructors named Clint. A windy day by the waterfront, she saw the sandy-haired man and approached slowly. "Hey there! You must be Clint? The bonafide scuba expert?"

"Gosh that was so needed!" she smiled as they returned to their hotel room for the day. Luisa had dived into the deep-end when it came to taking on the previous school psychologist case load on top of her evaluations. She'd finally gotten through every grade level and could now appropriately make the necessary recommendations for the remainder of the school year. Thankfully, she had someone like Emira who could pull her out of her work and take some time for herself. "I didn't even realized my shoulders were that tense." Her knots had knots and now she felt like a free bird.

"Hey Nora, can I just get a corona with a lime to start out please?" she asked as she approached the bar, helping herself to a vacant seat. Lu had just come from a meeting with the school principal and a set of fifth grade parents. Their child had a full on meltdown after recess and pretty much just hung out with Luisa all afternoon until he could get picked up. Able to pinpoint the root cause of his action, she was feeling hopefully that they would be able to help Ryder operate more confidently and happily in the school space. "How's the shift been so far?"

location: the four leaf

It was a slow night at the Four Leaf, and Nora was sitting behind the bar playing Subway Surfers on her phone as her lone customer dozed over his Jack and coke. She made a mental note to not serve him again if he eventually came to and asked for another. The sound of the door opening made her head shoot up, putting her phone in her pocket as she stood. Usually, she wouldn't be so eager to do actual work, but at least this was something to alleviate her boredom.

"Hey, how's it going?" she called as the newcomer approached the bar, breezy and amiable. "What can I get you?"

"That's like asking if is it wrong to take a nap mid-day. No, I think not." Honestly, the ice cream did sound rather nice. Maybe she'd make a stop to the creamery after she got done all of her errands which did include grocery shopping. It's why she was awaiting to order herself a cappuccino as all her ingredients at home had ran out. "Maybe you could see if they have an affogato here?" It would at least be the best of both worlds if that's what the blonde was craving.

"Is it too cold for ice cream?" Mel asked the person that was in front of her if like, she had come in intending to order a cappuccino, or maybe even a hot chocolate, but the more she thought about the hot beverage choices, the more she wanted something cold. "Is there such a thing? I mean a lot of people keep drinking hot coffee during summer, so maybe having a milkshake is not that weird?"

[cis woman and she/her] Welcome to Aurora Bay, [LUISA "LU" SUAREZ]! I couldn’t help but notice you look an awful lot like [MONICA BARBARO]. You must be the [THIRTY-ONE] year old [SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST]. Word is you’re [CONSIDERATE] but can also be a bit [HEADSTRONG] and your favorite song is [KING BY FLORENCE + THE MACHINE]. I also heard you’ll be staying in [SEABROOK QUARTERS]. I’m sure you’ll love it!

Luisa was born and raised in New Mexico as the oldest of six. With the nice blend of the Italian-Mexican culture in her home it was no surprise that their home was a tight-knit and supportive space. Her parents both being pastors, the Suarez family were pinnacle members of their respective community.

As the oldest, she was left to raise a majority of her siblings while her parents focused on impacting the world. This meant that Luisa had a lot more freedom and independency to varying degrees as she was the leader of the Suarez six.

A curious mind who always sought answers to question that popped into her mind, she grew to be quite mature for her age. An observer, a good listener, and an even stronger communicator, Luisa was finding herself participating in conversations far advanced than her years.

She loved listening to other perspectives, stories, and backgrounds. At the same time she was skillful at problem solving and helping people find clarity in the midst of their situations. It was no surprise that she went off to become a psychologist. Always seeking ways to connect with people brings her joy.

Even more so after witnessing her youngest brother struggle mentally and behaviorally in his schooling, she went above and beyond to make sure that he had all the resources and mechanisms possible so that he was able to define his own version of success and exceed in it well. It was then that she was committed to being a voice for children who yet did not have the skills to express and advocate for themselves. Works primarily with elementary-aged students.

After completing her schooling at UC Berkley, she began working for the local district thanks to an internship she got in college. One opportunity led to the next which is how she landed in Aurora Bay at the start of the 2023-2024 academic year for the school district.

The journey is not without hiccups, but she welcomes the highs and lows that life has to offer. Aurora Bay has a charm of it own and with a strong inkling that shows promise and growth, Luisa can envision establishing a life of her own here.
