kind of wanna reinforce this here. because i’ve seen ai writing become so popular on tik tok.

ai writing is not okay.

it’s literally theft. just like how ai art steals, ai writing steals. it’s using authors’ very real work to generate whatever you type in. and this also needs to be said as well.

writing is a form of art. fanfiction is a form of literature.

seeing this all over my fyp is REALLY discouraging. fanfic itself is already a labor of love and we love it when you interact. but please do not use ai writing for your fanfic needs when this writing literally steals from fanfic authors.

So it turns out that ChatGPT not only uses a ton shit of energy, but also a ton shit of water. This is according to a new study by a group of researchers from the University of Colorado Riverside and the University of Texas Arlington, Futurism reports.

Which sounds INSANE but also makes sense when you think of it. You know what happens to, for example, your computer when it’s doing a LOT of work and processing. You gotta cool those machines.

And what’s worrying about this is that water shortages are already an issue almost everywhere, and over this summer, and the next summers, will become more and more of a problem with the rising temperatures all over the world. So it’s important to have this in mind and share the info. Big part of how we ended up where we are with the climate crisis is that for a long time politicians KNEW about the science, but the large public didn’t have all the facts. We didn’t have access to it. KNOWING about things and sharing that info can be a real game-changer. Because then we know up to what point we, as individuals, can have effective actions in our daily lives and what we need to be asking our legislators for.

And with all the issues AI can pose, I think this is such an important argument to add to the conversation.

hoo boy I hate being negative on this blog but with such a huge influx of new people in the EE fandom, just a quick reminder that if I see the following activities I will insta-block you:

shipping children with adults (I don’t care if it’s the 12 y/os, Sylvie, or whoever; they’re children and it’s creepy)

shipping Howie (canonically aro) with anyone (this includes selfshipping— you do not get to erase aro representation for your own self-interests)

sexualizing Howie or Percy (canonically ace)

sexualizing any of the children

A shoutout to all my poc self shippers and ocs

Especially with those who's f/o's and ships take place in a period time before now. It can be rough since it either means getting a shitpost silly attitude and completely ignoring canon. Or having to write about historical traumas and racism in order to make our own self inserts fit in said canon.

Both can be rough and take more effort than simply just existing in the world. Some shippers care about realism and others eat canon for breakfast both are great. Whether you dive into these worlds with intricacy or use them as an escape. Sometimes opening up to those experiences can be hard or something people won't understand. Whatever you do is valid.

Your existence as a poc oc or character isn't pandering. It isn't mary sue. It isn't too much or pushing an agenda. We've always existed and we can create whatever media we want.

Whichever you choose to do is valid and your struggles and self reflections as a person of color in this community is valid. Keep doing what you do and expressing yourself in whatever way makes you happy

i never ended up posting this on my old blog, but here it is:

here’s a shoutout post for people who enjoy seeing/have huge respect for either romantic or qpp canon x canon ships with their f/os!!

whether you ship with just one character but like seeing them shipped with other characters. or if you ship with both/all! whether or not you ship with them in a polycule or keep them separate, or if you just like seeing them interact in that way because it makes you happy seeing characters you love love each other. or if you kin one of them and kindate the other!!

whether they know each other in their source media or not, or heck, even if they’re not from the same source material!!

whether the canon x canon is a canon / popular fanon / rarepair ship, you rock!!

if you’re polyamorous or anything of the sort and it extends to the way you self ship, or if self ship is a way for you to explore the concept of polyamory and how you fair with that type of relationship as a self-exploration. or if you’re just doing this for fun or because it makes you happy!!

and you don't have to like every canon x canon ship you see, or even like the same canon x canon ship all the time, and you don't have to always incorporate it into your self ships. this post is also for you even if you only like them occasionally or you still have boundaries about them when it comes to your self ship.

and a shoutout also to people who while they may not always agree with or enjoy their f/os' canon love interests, they still have a great deal of respect for it and might even incorporate it into their self ship.

and other instances i haven’t covered - i’m sure people have their reasons to enjoy things, but you never owe an explanation to anyone else if it’s harmless. and you don't need a "deep" reason to do it either. this post is a shout-out for you. keep doing what you’re doing if it makes you happy!! and you aren't alone!! i know we may be a bit of a niche when it comes to self shippers but you're not alone. i love you <33
