Hi tumblr 馃憢
I'm finally getting my husband to print wick setters and holders to fit my new jars!
The ends are bunny shaped and they're printed in gold for the aesthetic 鉁笍
I'm excited to share them once they're finished!

Apologies for being quiet on this account!
Tumblr wouldn't let me post while traveling so I stopped for a while. My vacation is coming to a close, so I'm looking forward to sharing what photos I was able to take of the rabbits 馃悋
Didn't get to take as many I wanted due to my husband getting sick in the middle of vacation, but that's life!

This is our last post for the night before flying out to the next point on our vacation. While Marina was the chosen one to go on the candle, the rest of the bunnies will still feature in other photos.
Please look forward to it!

I haven't posted in a while but I wanted to share the recent sample labels I received for my candles. They came out so good, I'm beyond happy with them!
I haven't applied them yet, but praying they go on easily and I finally can say the label design is finalized 馃檹

I recently discovered how to resize images in Lightroom, so now I'm truly unstoppable. For the longest time I couldn't figure it out so my edits came out bigger than I wanted, but I found it by mistake which made me feel very dumb lol Prayer circle for my photography to improve.

Still in a ranty mood so I'm complaining here too 馃檪
I'm part of several candle fb groups and there's this new small candle supplier that made me side eye. They were constantly advertising their stuff (which I get it, approved vendor. Still annoying, and even their mom would ad as well as she never said approved vendor)
I normally ignored it and carried on my day but they started advertising their new waxes and other people began singing their praises. The big thing for them was zero cure time (which was a gigantic lie!) And the was one of the things I was interested in to cut my testing time. As more people got their hands on it, this holy grail of waxes wasn't that different from stuff already on the market.
I still wanted to give them a chance, small business and all so I was waiting on their sample wax kit. I should have taken it as a red flag when I asked if there was going to be a purchase limit and they said no 馃槖 They already sold out of one wax (which they said they would never have a shortage 馃槖 ) so they know their product is a hot commodity atm and you're not limiting quantities so more people can try them out?
On top of that, they listed it on their website around 1-2am my time and I'm not about to mess with a supplier that does this lol
Anyways that's my rant. The waxes were the only thing I liked from their entire catalog so it's not a loss if I don't get them. After seeing how this all went down, I'm kinda glad that I don't have to rely on them for supplies.

I have come to realized that taking zoomed in photos isn't ideal when it comes to image ratios lol I've become so accustomed to taking photos on my phone that I've forgotten how to work with a camera. When I first did this photoshoot, I hated that I couldn't zoom in, and I was complaining very loudly about it haha
But I guess there is a reason why you shouldn't zoom in so close in your pictures, as when you go to edit them, they're so large that it helps with your image ratio. Does that make sense? Either way, I'll carry new knowledge to my next shoot!

Marble candles were what got me into candlemaking. I bought dye with the intention of using it, but I never really made those candles lol
I've been thinking about dyes lately, and the idea has grown on me after this mockup. Now I need to convince myself to buy dye...

Good news everyone!
I may have finally found the wick that works with my wax and fragrance oil *cries into hands* I, like probably many others, have struggled with wicking for months. I've tried cotton, wooden wicks (still have the white wicks didn't work out) and by pure chance the small packet of makesy wicks at hobby lobby ended up being what worked lol It's giving little to no soot, hot throw, low glass temperature, asmr crackling. I'm pleased with the performance so far! This doesn't mean I'm anywhere near close selling to candles. I still have more to bunnies to commission, but here's a preview of Marina for now. Her candle is citrusy/woodsy with hints of mint 馃暞 art by the wonderful yura_inaho@twitter

I always feel I don't have much interesting stuff to share, but I figured I should post what I have been up to lately. On the candle side, I'm still testing wooden wicks. I sadly had to give up on my dream of white wicks, as they were sooting far too much. I was able to find other wooden wicks that seem to work much better so fingers crossed. On the photography side, I recently found lightroom presents on creativemarket, so here's a preview of one said preset. Not sure if I like it, but it's nice not having to mess with all the setting haha

While searching for a dulce de leche scent, I came across a condensed milk scent and my life changed forever. I have had the most difficult time working with this scent, but I WILL make it work. It smells exactly like condensed milk, it's fantastic and thus I had the idea to blend it with a strawberry scent and it's to die for. I don't have the labels for this candle yet, but please believe me when I say it's super cute!

Another day, another candle filter 馃槀 I finally caved and used lightroom to edit this image, and while I'm not keen on having to learn another program (illustrator beat me up) I have to agree with my husband that is does offer more control over the look of the photo. I've only posted finished photos, but behind the scenes so much has been going on to get to this stage. This is version 4 at this point? Maybe it'll stay like this, or I'll change my mind again.
Tomorrow I should have something different to share! 馃槉
