I posted about Palestine on social media for years with zero interaction. No one wanted to talk about it and it has always seemed too far removed for americans to give a shit about.
So again I just want to remind people, it's never been like this before (in the us). This movement has always been here, but they can no longer bury it.
The fact that protests and boycotts have been sustained for going-on 6months, that's not nothing. This should be evidence to you that we can sustain the momentum, we must, and use this momentum for radical changes within ourselves, our habits, and our education.
We have the rest of the world to catch up with.

"gale didn't kill prim" yeah but that's not the POINT. katniss knows that. it's not a case of misplaced blame where she just needs time to get over it and see gale's innocence. the thing is, gale's bomb design WAS inherently cruel, counting on human kindness and abusing it. katniss has disagreed with it from the beginning. it doesn't matter that gale didn't actively choose to kill prim, he still designed a weapon that would make people like prim, caring and compassionate, die. katniss has felt the gutting agony of losing her loving sister, and she can imagine what the families of other nurses and healthcare providers would feel when they lost their loved ones. her logical disagreement from earlier is now palatable and she knows first hand the horrors it can cause, she just can't forgive that, it's not a kind of violent thinking she wants to live around. prim dying was just an aggravator of what katniss already felt and made it impossible to ignore, and implying katniss is just lashing out in anger at gale because of her own grief is condescending as hell, removing all the blame from him and all the cognizance from her.

"B-but Palestinians can get their freedom with peace not violence 🥺🥺" no. Screw your feelings. The armed resistance against colonizers and murderers is what will give Palestinians their freedom and what will eventually achieve real peace.
An enemy that bombs and uses white phosphorus against civilians doesn't know nor practice what your broken moral compass describes as "peace". Freedom was proven throughout history not to be achieved through kneeling and asking the oppressor to kindly stop. Freedom needs to be taken by force. Your little Utopian way of thinking doesn't work in the real world. Your feelings don't matter because you're not the one living under occupation. Your feelings don't matter because you're not one of the thousands of children who lost their limbs. You're not one of the children who became orphans due to this genocide. You're not the mother who lost her child to the carpet bombing. You're not the father carrying the remains of your child in plastic bags. You're not the newlywed woman who lost her husband. You're not the one at risk of either getting killed any second or losing your loved ones in the blink of an eye!
"Peace" is not really a thing you see during a live ethnic cleansing!

My entire twitter feed is people in Rafah saying they’re terrified, saying their good byes, and asking us to remember them in our prayers. Rafah is facing a massacre. It’s a genocide. We will not know the number of deaths until the morning.

Lula compares Israel's attacks on Palestinians in Gaza to Hitler's killing of Jews
President Lula (PT) stated this Sunday 18th that what is happening in the Gaza Strip is not a war, but a genocide, and compared Israel's action to that of Nazi dictator Adolf Hitler against the Jews.
“What is happening in the Gaza Strip to the Palestinian people does not exist at any other historical moment. In fact, it exists. When Hitler decided to kill the Jews,” he said.
Asked about the Brazilian government's decision to be the new donor to the UN Agency for Palestinian Refugees, Lula criticized the leaders of the countries that decided to suspend contributions. “When I see the rich world announce that it is stopping contributing to the humanitarian issue for the Palestinians, I wonder how much political awareness these people have?”, he said. “And how big is the heart of solidarity of these people who cannot see that in the Gaza Strip there is not a war happening, but a genocide?”
The president also questioned: “Who will help rebuild those houses that were destroyed? Who will repay the lives of 30 thousand people who have already died? 170 thousand who are injured. Who will give back the lives of children who died without knowing why they were dying? Is this enough to disturb the humanitarian sense of the planet’s political leaders?”
“It is not a war between soldiers and soldiers. It is a war between a highly prepared Army and women and children. Look, if there was an error in that institution that collects the money, find out who made the mistake. But do not suspend humanitarian aid for the people who have been trying to build their state for decades”, concluded Lula.
I'm actually quite proud of having voted for him. He was bold, Brazilian's newspapers are roasting him for saying the TRUTH, but is this kind of boldness that we need right now.

Lula, Brazil’s President, compares the actions of Israel to those of Hitler during the Shoah (and he’s completely correct) and for Netanyahu THIS was crossing a red line. For Netanyahu, it’s okay to walk like a Nazi, act like a Nazi, but the limit for him is being compared to a Nazi. I’ve already said it on Twitter and I’ll do it here too: there is no ancestral trauma that justifies and shields Israel’s genocidal actions and anyone who defends this is, at the very least, dishonest.
