Tbh I have a whole animatic for the entire song in my head, but that’s a bit much at the moment. Maybe one day…

In my old sketchbook I had a whole page full of little pencil doodles of my favorite wild characters. Those who speak to the animals and understand the tides and wind. Those who are chased and cornered. Those who fight just for survival or Those who fight for something more. Those wrapped in fate and circumstance. Those who have chipped teeth, bloody knuckles, scraped knees, with skin coated in grit and determination beyond death.

my expectations for the httyd live action (based on early access reviews and the announcement that httyd 2 live action is happening) is I'll go to see it and it will be a banger (I'll only be able to truly hate it on principle, I think it will be an alright retelling of the original but still wholly unnecessary and blah you've heard my thoughts on why it's mean to animation) and then I'll go to bed and cry because you know what those millions of dollars could have gone to?

The path no one ever dares walk.

No one notices it at first.

But you did.

You wanted something different, you wanted an adventure.

Most people would never walk that path after the first time.

Ignore it, pretend it was never there.

But you didn't.

You were there, walking that path whenever you were around.

You brought your friends, and they appreciated its beauty with you.

They started walking the path even if you weren't there with them.

Together you carved out the path.

Cut back the layers to reveal everything beneath.

And no matter what you found, you all embraced it as a part of itself.

You shaped the path, made it into something beautiful.

You would all spend hours there, creating memories.

You turned the path into a hidden wonder.

But what happens when you're not there to maintain it?

One by one, you say your goodbyes.

You say you'll come back, I'll see you again.

But what if I’m not the same when any of you return?

What if my layers grow too thick, so they can no longer be broken?

What if the terrain becomes too difficult for anyone to walk?

What if the entrance is blocked off so no one can enter?

What if you returned to find there is no longer a path at all.

And no matter how hard you look, you cannot find me again.

You neglect me to the point of no return, so there's nothing for you to find.

But I'll still hold on to hope.

Hope that one of you will someday return.

So I don't become the path no one can ever walk again.

Have you you considered how Hiccup isn't actually an uncommon name. While the books focus on the unique stories of the three Hiccups and how interconnected they are, there are still all those named Hiccup by the Naming Dame and left/sent out to sea to die.

Are they just as connected? How many dragons are there with scars on their chest but no Hiccup? How many parents felt the temptation to keep their Hiccup, a decision that would change history?
