I was executed on July 30, 1811 by a firing squad after being caught on March 21.

I have been known as a priest and the father of Mexican Independence.

I was born at the Hacienda de San Diego de Corralejo, Pénjamo, Guanajuato and grew up there.

How did you influence the Mexican revolution?

I pretty much started it with my Grito de Dolores and I formed an army of over 40,000 people that took Guanajuato and Guadalajara.

What is your greatest achievement?

I had many great achievements in the Mexican Revolution but my most well known was my speech, Grito de Dolores, that called for the end of Spain's colonial rule over Mexico.
