Shameful Hotties: Political Edition

In my signature vein of complete transparency: I had an erotic dream on Sunday night... about Mitt Romney. Perhaps it was the article I had just read in February's Vanity Fair, or more likely Stephen Colbert's self-association with the GOP front-runner, or even less likely the subconscious sexual connotation I have with Mormons given my first exposure to one--a super slootbag--with Julie on the Real World New Orleans. I digress. Let me just say it was weird, made even weirder with the presence of Michele Bachman (name twin! Have to recognize the one 'L' when I see one) at our dinner table, who was in town through the end of the week to hold a rally at Terminal 5. I could take what I've learned from my Psychology of Dreams course last semester and try to make sense of the unlikely erotica, but I'm on my fifth week of (my last!) winter break and the wheels simply refuse to turn.

OKAY, OKAY! I'll admit that I don't find Romney wholly unattractive. Sue me. This realization got me to thinking about other men in politics to whom I've shamefully lent a daydream or two--

Which brings me to Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. For this admission you literally could sue me, if neither his people nor human rights activists lynch me first. Before you judge, just neglect for a second who he is, what he does, and everything he stands for... and look at this punim. Can you reeeeally blame me?

Once again I'll lend this brainwashing to mainstream media, this time in the form of an incredible SNL Digital Short from a few years back. Andy Samberg and Adam Levine make even the darkest of villains sexually appealing.

I'm not sure exactly how or when I first listened to them - subsequent MacBook crashes two years apart almost to the day render me incapable of going tech geek and exploring the matter further. Their stuff immediately puts me into a dark chill kind of mood and never disappoints.

Regardless, this one is amongst my favorite adages and I always find it relevant to some/many aspect(s) of my life. As much as I may say I love and accept change, it's often easier said than done.

UMF 2012 has officially sold out, over a month earlier than it did last year. While I don't believe in shows selling out (think: when there's a will there's a way, even if said way involves a serious depletion of funds, morals, and the like), expect scalpers to rob you of your livelihood should you be ticketless and seriously plan on going.

Will I see you there? Third time (2008, 2011, 2012) is sure to be a charm.

I started interning for the CFDA's {Fashion Incubator} last week, of which Prabal Gurung is amongst the inaugural members. His team just released this video showcasing his Pre-Fall collection. The kaleidecscope motif brings me back to my childhood... if it were reincarnated as the lovechild between the downtown cool of Dree Hemingway and a high fashion Easter bunny.

I had the honor of meeting Prabal on my first day - he's super nice and just as sexy as his photos suggest. He's dressed the likes of SJP, Hailee Steinfeld (girl/style crush of my dreams), and Michelle Obama. Maybe the Michu's next in line?

Beyond grateful that a certain someone introduced me to Givers. I had the pleasure of seeing them last Thursday at The Music Hall of Williamsburg - great vibes, great show from what I remember. (Who doesn't love a good wine buzz/drunk/"brownout" going?) Their music is a breath of fresh air from the all the BS pervading modern life. Sweet and pure, genuine and gentle, and bursting to the brim with warm feelings, "Atlantic" is a gracious gift to the world. This song makes me love life and inspires me to translate this gratitude and warmth into my days.

I'm a day late and a pound short, but this GUCCI GUILTY INTENSE ad campaign is f'ing HOT. I'm not a huge fan of either celebrity--granted, Chris Evans was my first interviewee during my brief stint as a red carpet reporter last spring, and Evan Rachel Wood was the model for the little teen sloot I'd one day aspire to be ("No bra, no panties... no bra, no panties")--but this shit just oozes sex. Makes you want to lick the page/screen/billboard on which your eyes are feasting. Impeccable campaign.
