i just had a realization about n25's (original) worldlink cards. so all the cards have them underwater, which can symbolize how they all struggle with mental health. but...

ena knows exactly how to get past the water. she's on her feet and walking toward the light with determination.

mafuyu is being pulled toward the surface and the light, but it pains her to leave the dark water behind.

mizuki is so close to the surface. she could swim up to it, and her expression suggests she wants to, but she's resigned to staying in place.

and kanade is smiling. she isn't even thinking about leaving the water, even though it's darker here than in any other card.

if you think back to how each of the girls were just after 3rd anniversary, these cards basically say it all.

"Oh shit. Ohhhhh shiiittt," An looked at the mess in her room, biting her lower lip. "Dad's gonna kill us!"

"Correction, kill you," Akito stuck his nose in the air, "It was your idea. And for the record, I didn't drink."

"But you smoked," The girl countered.

"One stick," Akito grumbled, "Only because Ko was egging me to do it."

Kohane flushed. "W-well, not to be rude b-but... You normally wouldn't give in to me, so this was your fault."

"I poured beer on myself," Tōya mumbled, clearly dazed. "What self-respecting person does that?"

Akito took the half-and-half's hand in his, massaging it.

"You were drunk, Love."

"I wasn't supposed to get wasted."

"I know, but I told you to unwind, so..."

"DAD'S GONNA KILL US!!!" An wailed, tearing her hair.

"Last night you climbed on your desk and did the lap dance while Azu cheered you on," Tōya remembered.

"A-Ao-kun, please shut up..." Kohane stuttered, embarrassed.

"Dad's gonna kill ussssssss," An got on her knees and punched the floor.

"I'm out, then," Akito said standing up, only to be dragged back down by Kohane.

"You stay where you are, Shinocchan!" She cried firmly. "We're all dying together!!"

"No!! Let me go!!!"

Knock knock knock!

"Kids, what's all this ruckuss?"

random thoughts about how toya’s excitement feels so lively and pure. i love how much i can feel his happiness from just the way he talks and his facial expressions

let’s take his new year’s side story as a little example, where he successfully did a kendama trick for the first time

i love how my first thought was “HE'S SO HAPPY” when i read this story. the subtle excited tremors in his voice and throat with each syllable... the rising pitch when he finally acknowledges it... the emotions portrayed of that first time disbelief when he said できた… (no exclaimation) all the way to when he really saw that he did it with his own eyes できたぞ！the addition of ぞ adds weight into his excitement.

anyways i don't know if you can hear it but the excited tremors in his voice... (that usually only happens when we are EXTREMELY excited and full of adrenaline) it adds so much realism... its not something that can be done on command easily... it breathes so much life into toya's purehearted innocence at even the smallest things.

a good way to describe it: sort of like in english, when we get really excited and go "oh↓ my→ god↑↑", the subtle vocal tremors in the vowel sounds as your pitch rises, the emphasis on the ending consonant sounds. it is exactly that but in japanese. for toya its especially obvious in the "te ga furuteiru" line. you can really hear the vocal tremors and a bit of slurring for the both hard and soft syllables.

I dont wanna be political for long but I'm happy to be a fucking aussie.

Australians took one look at America and was like "Yeah nah we're good mate." And Labor beat out Liberal by the biggest fucking landslide I've ever seen. America literally did so much damage already that the rest of the world has taken notice and will NOT make the same mistakes.

Im glad to see Australians be so progressive, i finally have some hope back in humanity and my own damn country. I really did thought liberal was gonna win and I was gonna start calling Australia America Jr. But NOPE! WE FUCKING DID IT!!! GYAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
