Questions!!!
Feel free to not answer some of them (only if you don’t want to!!)
1. What inspires you n why? Who are your favorite artists?
2. Do you mind walking me through your creative process? What gets you inspired, how you find your materials, etc :3
3. What drew you first in to crafting?
4. What are your favorite artworks?
5. How would you define your current artistic style?
6. What was the most difficult project you took on?
7. Do you ever imagine your pieces ever walk/or have personalities?
Hi, I really like talking to other people so thank you for the questions!!!
1. I’m really inspired by Jan Švankmajer, Tim Burton, Wes Anderson and lots of that old vintage stuff. I love old crochet pieces, antique furniture, and old dolls because their objects people have loved and cherished in the past and it feels like it’s got more character. I love all that morute gothic stuff and the macabre. I feel like the things that are real ugly and grotesque to most people can have a double meaning and can turn out to be real beautiful in the end. Also love Catholicism cause I’m catholic and it brings me comfort.
2. When I’m creating something I usually have a vague idea of what I want but I know if I sit out and write and draw every step I’ll end up procrastinating it so usually I just go it. For the current stop motion I have no idea what it’s going to be about I just know I need to make something now or I’ll lose my mind. Then when she’s actually made I’ve had enough time to think about what the stop motion will be about.
For painting and drawings I’m better at planning them out and don’t procrastinate so much so. But if I had to choose I’d say stop motion is my favorite art form. I find materials at Hobby lobby and the sets are mostly made with cardboard. For the dolls I’ve been just using wire as the base, cover that in hot glue, put clay on the pieces that won’t move and wrap that sucker up with medical bandages I found in my grandmas medical box. I also try to crochet pieces and use lots of fabrics (I know the crochet don’t match the scale but imma ignore that).
3. What first drew me to crafting was when I was little and needed to make sets for my dolls. Back then it was just paper and cardboard but I’ve basically turned into a taller child with better materials and movable dolls. I love just putting all my energy into something and being able to express myself in this type of way. I’m not very good at using my words properly to say what I’m thinking clearly so I feel like I can communicate better this way.
4.my favorite artworks would have to be The Hungry Boy by Avery Palmer (be warned it shows a bald man’s booty), Virgin of the rosary by Melchor Pérez Holguin, and Pietà by William Bouguereau. Those are just the ones I can name rn.
5. I’d define it as macabre, I don’t necessarily make very bloody gory stuff but I do like making artwork depicting some type of creepiness. Id also describe it as kind of antique. I’m not too good with finding the right words but if I find a good one to describe it I’ll use the heck outta it.
6. My most difficult would have to be the one I haven’t posted yet cause I don’t have the actually artwork with me and the only pic I have is a very crappy one but I’m probably gonna post that one and keep it up till I can find the real one. I wanted to depict how sometimes we will sit with our guilt and just let it fester and slowly we start to lose ourselves the more we sit in it and in a sense our old selve decay. It was supposed to have roaches all over, a cool muted color pallets and I was super excited to make it. I loved it so much but so many bad things happened while I was making it and it just ended up a mess. I was out of time and had to rush to get it done by my deadline and I remember crying while I was finishing it because I knew it was crap and there was nothing else I can do about it. I wasn’t necessarily the worst but I had such a big vision for it so it broke my heart when I messed it up. But I’m definitely gonna try and redo it one day.
7. Yup I definitely do. I imagine my dolls are just these little curious children who wander my room when I’m sleeping. It always sucks when I show them off and people say it’s creepy cause they’re just little babies. They won’t slit your throats when you’re sleeping they will probably just play in my makeup bag.
AHhH sorry if I’m yapping or if there’s too many grammar errors. Also thank you for enjoying my art, it always feels crazy when people like my stuff cause the thought of someone who can be anywhere in the world seeing my stuff is so wild and amazing to me.

The making of Mallory 1.0. For my first stop motion puppet she held up fairly well but sadly lost an arm and now she’s going to turn into a marionette.
