If you ever feel like a burden toward your F/Os:

I promise that you're NOT a burden to them. You're not "too much" for them. Yes, even when things are particularly rough. Their love for you is unrelenting. Regardless of what "trouble" you may bring.

They take care of you through genuine admiration. So don't ever think that they love you out of pity. Your f/o took one look at you and knew you were important to them. It doesn't matter if you're disabled, traumatized, sensitive, literally anything, (Especially a combination of those 3) your f/o loves you. And they know that if you could, you'd do the same for them.

So try to be a little kinder to yourself. Ok? You're more than your struggles. Your f/o can see that. They'd never feel burdened by you. If anything, they're honored that they're who you come to♡

It's probably some new invention she's made.

They'd come up to me, eyes sparkling, asking if I have a moment. Of course I do! It pulls out a little contraption and turns it on to show me. "Isn't it just marvelous?"

And I don't understand ANY of the technological stuff behind what Rui does, but I'm always happy to listen! So I give her the OK to infodump, and I get a very enthusiastic lecture walking me through the mechanisms and any challenges she's encountered along the way.

All the while, I can't help but beam at it, as its pride and joy are infectious. It will NEVER be a waste of my time to spend a moment listening to them.

We often have things that we show to our F/Os or our own hobbies that we are introducing them to, but what about the reverse? Your F/O(s) come up to you, seeming quite eager, whether their bouncing off the walls or seeming rather bashful. Perhaps it's a hobby they indulge in or a game they play or a new release or edition of something their follow, whether it's a magazine or book series or maybe some monthly thing they get in the mail. Heck, maybe they just wanna show you a YouTuber they like or artist they listen to. What do they end up babbling to you about? Is it something you're familiar with or is it something you have no clue about at all?

it's okay. you're safe right now. your f/o is here to keep you company, to give you anything you need, to be here for you. they can give you a hug, they don't mind if you get tears and snot on their shoulder, or they can bring you whatever you need, you're not a bother to them at all. really, they just want to love you and want you to feel loved. they know how much you love them, and wish so deeply you could love yourself the way they love you. they want only to give you unconditional love and protection. your f/o is here with you to make life a little easier.

wishing every aromatic/asexual/aspec selfshipper who struggles with relationships outside of fictional ones a beautiful day/night. wishing all of you aspec selfshippers who feel like no one will understand your preferences like your f/o does, some peace and quiet and a safe place to rest. your f/o loves you and fully accepts and understands all of your needs and boundaries. they care so deeply for you and all that you are and respect you so much. they understand being aspec can come with its difficulties, and they want you to know they're here if ever you need someone to talk to about it, always.
