i'm tight for cash right now so i'm opening up a few commission slots! my car payment bounced due to lack of funds, and my dog needs a minor operation in the next month. if you like big cats, paleontology, or a meticulous focus on facial expressions then consider buying a piece from me! i offer three rendering tiers (lines, monochrome, color) as well as three portrait size tiers (bust, half body, full body).

i don't have a fully rendered pricing tier, nor do i do nsfw, as i'm not particularly confident in my abilities to deliver in those areas. however, most everything else is on the table! i specialize in drawing big mammals, anthro characters, and people, but have experience in corporate design as well. dm if there's any info you'd like to know that i didn't include here!

I saw a post that said tigers’ fur color works as camouflage because their prey see orange and green as the same color thus hiding them better against foliage, and immediately thought of your ocs. Do any of them have sight and/or other sensory limitations due to their species? If so, does it make characters like Meg more efficient hunters in certain situations?

yes, their species plays a lot into their senses! carnivorans in general are red/green colorblind, just like their mammalian prey. safe to assume that all my guys who are 100% kibty or ouppy can’t see the full color spectrum😔 some of them with mixed human ancestry (think leo, jack, aster, and jarith) can see color though!

while it’s true that meg’s preferred prey (human men) can differentiate between red and green, that doesnt necessarily mean that his camouflage doesnt work!

do you see him? i hope so! (hunting at night also tends to negate the color-vision advantage humans have, as our low light vision is absolute shit.)

tatiana is in a tougher spot. her silver coat is strikingly gorgeous, but tends to stick out like a sore thumb in most circumstances. there’s only one environment where she really excels, and it just so happens to be the one she aims to make universal…

on another note, canids typically have poor eyesight, and this is true for the dogmen! henley and oko in particular, since they have the cynocephaly condition 24/7. their eyes are always dog eyes! (well. oko also only has one, but that’s another matter entirely.)

this also plays into xenotherianism (shapeshifting) as well. imagine the sheer sensory overload of going from human senses (average sight, average hearing, poor sense of smell) to felid senses (INSANE sight, INSANE hearing, REALLY GOOD sense of smell). you’d probably be overwhelmed! you might even go a little crazy…

it’s for this reason that xenotherianism usually succeeds best when it’s carnivoran-to-human. humans typically can’t cope as well with the neural restructuring and sensory overload when they’re exposed to all the stimuli that other species take for granted.
