|Chapterβ’One|
β’|Masterlist|β’
"What a pleasant surprise."
That voice... He recognized that voice.
He turned his head toward where it came from, it was in the dark, so it was almost impossible to see anything, but when the person stepped into the warm orange light of the sunset, (M/n) saw him.
"I didn't think I'd see you again."
"And I didn't think you'd still be alive... Lawrence." Every pair of eyes in the room turned to look at the guy they brought over, questioning who he was.
"Seeing you here is quite... Unexpected, (M/n)," at the mere mention of his name, he realized how those threatening stares at him changed, turning into something akin to hope and gratitude. As if he was their saviour.
He shifted in place, doing his best to ignore the stares he felt locked on him, and decided to focus solely on Lawrence and glare at that stupid superior grin on his face. "I thought you'd be dead by now," (M/n) muttered quite harshly, tensing and keeping his guard up at being surrounded by men with firearms and, technically, keeping Gally locked away from him, he couldn't afford to relax.
Lawrence didn't bother showing any emotion on his face at (M/n)'s words, deciding to slightly tilt his head to the side.
"Yeah... I get that a lot," he replied with an empty tone, as if he too had been expecting his death since long ago. He stepped closer, slowly, "Almost granted everyone that wish a couple of times, but you know me..." He paused and that grin showed up again, smug and haughty, "I don't go down easy."
(M/n) gritted his teeth and subtly shifted his weight from one leg to the other, crossing his arms over his chest and staring into Lawrence's eyes.
"Why am I here?" Lawrence sighed and walked over to a desk nearby, dragging his IV with him, and he picked up a file from the dark wooden desk, covered in cut leaves and dead petals. He turned around and reached his hand out, file handing in his grip.
Taking a step forward, (M/n) grabbed it and took that step back, standing in the same spot from before. He looked at the file, reading it's name on the top corner.
"WICKED's Facilities Coordinates," he mumbled to himself, a subtle frown showing up on his brow.
"Open it," without lifting his head, he glanced up at Lawrence, staring at the man through the strands of hair over his face. Silently, he opened the file.
He was greeted with pages upon pages, all filled with various coordinates of WCKD's facilities; the Mazes, locations where they kept and produced Bliss, the transport routes, the codes and passwords for the doors and crates with supplies for the City. And a pictureβ Of him.
Subject 0; The Rejected.
"One of the guys that brought you here with your friend and... Canine," Lawrence's voice caught his attention, making him close the file, "Told me how he found a trial survivor awfully similar to the one in that file..." He reached his hand out and took the file from (M/n)'s hands. Exposing his skin was under the light made the hints of infection more visible, beginning to break through his pale skin.
He flipped the file and opened it again, staring at the picture of (M/n) for a few seconds.
"Just... Dirtier and skinnier," he rolled his eyes at Lawrence's unnecessary comment about his appearance, reminding him... Of the Glade. The names, the comments, the stares, all of it. "So I told him to bring you here once they arrived," (M/n) glanced at the guy who brought him standing next to him, albeit a few feet away, and sighed.
"Where's Gally?" Lawrence seemed confused for an instant at his sudden question, but then there was a shine of clarity.
"Oh, the guy you brought with that spear on his chest," he swallowed hard at the reminder of how he had found Gally on that cold floor, and Chuck next to him with a bullet hole in his chest. Lawrence quickly glanced away from the male in front of him and looked over at the guy standing at the top of the stairs, nodding at him once.
(M/n) heard fading footsteps, radio static and mumbled voices. The guy standing closer to Lawrence, behind the desk, reached his hand up to his ear and nodded with a simple, 'understood'. He walked towards the front of the desk and leaned closer to Lawrence, whispering something in his ear. He seemed surprised and whispered something back, too quiet for (M/n) to understand anything they said.
Safe to say he felt a little tense with all the secrecy going on around him.
Of course, he didn't know. But Carlisle, Lawrence's right hand man, had told him Gally was infected by the artificial venom made by WCKD, and Lawrence decided to be nice and authorize the use of Bliss on Gally, since that venom only required a lesser dose and just one injection. He enjoyed watching how (M/n) was clearly on edge, doing a poor job at hiding it from him and his calculating, cold stare.
"He's alive. Barely," (M/n)'s jaw clenched involuntarily and he closed his hands on fists to prevent them from shaking, "But I'm sure you know we're not exactly swimming in medical supplies, don't you, (M/n)?" Lawrence's cynical smile grew as he watched him carefully, "We can't create miracles."
(M/n) took a shaky deep breath, and swallowed hard to prevent a knot in your throat from forming, standing firm and strong as he stared at Lawrence. "Then let me help, I know what to doβ" they way Lawrence tilted his head at his words cut him off, something in his cold eyes made him freeze for a moment.
"Still trying to play doctor, eh?" His voice lowered, catching (M/n) off guard, "You were always better at helping people than hurting them," he placed the file back on the desk it previously was, and leaned his lower back against the dark wood, "That's why you didn't last long with WICKED."
His body tensed and looked at everyone in the room. Both soldiers were silently staring. Listening. Waiting.
"I left them. I tried to stop what they were doing," he spoke loud, making sure everyone in the room understood he was serious, "You know that... I helped you, Lawrence." (M/n) took a step forward, and he noticed the man closest to Lawrence tightened his grip on his rifle, "I gave you Bliss, tried to get people outβ"
"You vanished," Lawrence cut him off, flatly. No anger, disappointment or sarcastic tone in his voice. He said it so matter-of-factly it made him stop and think for a second, "You said you were coming back. Told us to hold on, then... Months passed," Lawrence glanced to the side at his IV drip, watching each drop filling the filter before going in the plastic tube and into his veins.
It took him at least twenty seconds to keep talking.
"We thought you were dead, or worse..." Lawrence sight turned back to look at him, leaking forward and staring into his (e/c) eyes, "Back dancing in the palm of WCKD's hand."
He held his breath, unsure if Lawrence was telling him the truth. His memories were fragmented, and some of them were just a blurry mess, making them hard to understand.
"They wiped my memory... I was thrown in one of the Maze Trials," he muttered, fists tightly closed and jaw tense, "They took everything from me, Lawrence. Memories, name, purposeβ everything."
Silently, all Lawrence did was watch him, unfazed, and then there was a flash of something in his eyes, "As far as I know, Vincent got some of your friends out of the Trials." Vincent...? (M/n) frowned at the mentioned of that name, where have I heard that before? "Also..." His voice brought him back from his thinking, "That dog you brought over is scaring some of my medics while guarding that guy... Gally, you said," slowly walking away from his desk, Lawrence's back turned to face him, gently holding a rose by the stem and raised it to his nose, smelling it, "Go fix that."
He muttered, not even bothering to look at (M/n) from over his shoulder. He released a breath he didn't know he was holding and silently nodded once, turning around to leave Lawrence's office.
"And (M/n)," he stopped at the top of the stairs, and waited, "Welcome back to the Crank Army," carefully, (M/n) looked over his shoulder at the male, seeing a subtle smile on his face, and he was unsure of how to react to that, "Carlisle, take (M/n) to our medical center."
"Yes, sir," the man that stood behind the desk, stepped forward, relaxing his grip on rifle, and he signalled (M/n) forward with his head to start walking.
//////
Walking all those halls with people felt sort of claustrophobic, which was weird after only being trapped behind walls for a few months, made him wonder how Gally would react to all of this... If he ever wakesβ (M/n) shook his head at the thought, feeling sick at the mere idea of that becoming a reality. Being pessimistic wouldn't do him or Gally any good, so he took a deep breath and continued walking slightly behind the guy, Carlisle, as Lawrence had called him.
After about five minutes of turning corners, and going up and down a couple times, his hearing picked up the distant sound of barking, "Easy boy, it's okay!" A female voice said, clearly scared and (M/n) picked up his pace, from walking to a jog as he followed the sound and reached the door within ten seconds.
He opened the door and caught the attention of the people inside, including Bark.
"Excuse me, you can't be here!" The woman exclaimed, staring at the messy-looking guy standing at the door, a frown on her face. The guy next to her didn't take his eyes off of Bark, sweating at the sight of the dog, despite the poor Labrador no longer being a "threat" to either of them.
"Miss, you're gonnaβ" Bark's sudden loud growl cut the guy off and he flinched staying quiet.
Footsteps approached from behind (M/n), "It's okay, Lawrence's orders," Carlisle announced when he walked in, standing behind (M/n). Bark's ears twitched at the sound of his voice, and turned to look at the soldier. He stepped closer, and cried, whining as he bumped against (M/n)'s leg, and glanced back at Gally.
Just like he was doing. At least it looked like the room had enough medical supplies to help him, for now. The doctor had put an oxygen mask on him, an IV drip, and had a heart monitor, wires and patches sticking to his chest. It seemed like the doctor was getting ready to remove the small remains of the spear in his chest, probably taking them longer to stabilize him and control the bleeding before doing anything rough.
They had cut his shirt open, his torso bare and upper half covered in blood.
He took a step closer, carefully, and knelt on the ground next to the bed Gally was lying on. He gently held his hand, feeling a knot grow in his throat and vision turning blurry at how cold Gally's hand felt in his. He was usually so warm...
"Gally..." (M/n) barely managed to whisper to him, his free hand reaching up and gently touching his face, "You hold on, okay? You..." He paused for a moment, trying to find his voice again, "You don't get to leave me like this, big guy," immediately after finishing what he wanted to say, he felt it.
Gally's hand moved in his hold.
"Carlisle, can you get him out, please? And the dog too," (M/n) looked up at the doctor and nodded, lifting one leg to push himself up, when he saw something peeking out of Gally's pocket, and he reached his free hand to grab it, keeping it in his grip for now. Slowly and carefully, he released Gally's hand, and stood up to his full height, gripping his journal bag still hanging across his chest.
Carlisle held the door open as he watched (M/n) back away from the bed and calling Bark over, who silently jumped into the male's arms, and walked through that door, out the room and into the hallway. The door closed behind the soldier, and (M/n) stepped to the side, sliding against the wall down to the floor.
//////
From outside the door, he heard the beeping of Gally's heart monitor, holding his breath when he heard it beep faster and like his world just stopped... When he flat lined.
All he could do, was hug Bark tighter, hearing the poor dog whine and nuzzling harder against his chest.
After what felt like days, months... Even years, that nightmare-inducing flatline sound... Turned back to a rather rapid beeping, but it held some rhythm, and he was able to breathe normally again.
He felt his whole body trembling, and time went past as he stayed there, silent. Petrified. Numb.
The hallway began having a few lights turned on, and people were walking past him, mumbling stuff he didn't quite hear nor understood.
After about four hours or so, the door next to him opened, and (M/n) finally moved, looking up at the doctor, watching her remove her bloodied gloves, surgical mask and robe. She looked down at him and showed a small smile.
"He's gonna be okay."
Tears dripped down his face at her words which caught her off guard because she didn't see any emotion on his face, just a blank stare. "C-can...?" His voice was raspy and broke as he tried to speak, thankfully, the doctor seemed to understand what he wanted to say, and her smile grew gentler.
"Yeah, you can see him, I will check on him tomorrow," he nodded and gently sat Bark down on the ground. Slowly, he stood up from the hard and cold floor he had been sitting on, holding himself with the wall, feeling his legs had gone numb and while he knew wouldn't trip and fall, he would have wobbly legs for at least a couple minutes.
He stayed in place until the other guy walked out of the room, Bark stared at him as he walked past them, following the doctor, and he avoided eye contact with anything that wasn't the floor.
(M/n) gave a few pets to Bark and taking a breath in, he turned to walk in the room. And there he was.
Gally usually looked at peace in his sleep but now... He had deep frown on his brow,Β even if he was still unconscious. (M/n) closed the door behind him once Bark sat by Gally's bed, and he took a step closer to the blond. He was pale, he almost had a grey tint on his skin, a hard contrast to that sun-kissed tan he had from working hours under the sun in the Glade. Part of his torso and face were clammy due to the sweat caused by his fever.
(M/n) swallowed as he took another step, standing next to Bark as he looked down at the wounded blond. He could barely see his chapped and blue lips because of the lack of oxygen, the clear mask he wore on his face fogged up with every uneven breath, his chest raising and lowering in an odd rhythm.
Gally's right arm had two IV drops, holding them down with some tape, just like the one they used to get for the Med-jacks... He sighed as he continued thinking about everyone in the Glade. Every guy they lost to the Grievers. Not even a whole day had passed, so he found it normal to be thinking about what his life was like about ten hours ago.
He noticed a tube sticking out of Gally's left side, attached to something he couldn't quite see, but it seemed to be draining fluids from his rib cage to reinflate his lung. Bandages were around his chest, some blood seeping through but not enough to make him worry.
The heart monitor was beeping, slow and steady but, it had rhythm and it just wasn't just... A flat line. He let out subtle wheezing sounds with every breath, and he would release an involuntary groan every couple of minutes.
Glancing behind for a moment, he grabbed a plastic chair that had seen better days, placed it by the bed and sat on it. Bark jumped on the bed and found a spot to lay down by Gally's feet, looking at the blond with glass eyes. (M/n) reached and held his hand, intertwining their fingers together, leaning closer and moving his hair away from his face, strands clumping due to his sweat. He laid his head on the bed next to their hands and silently watched Gally, unable to rid his mind of the images of the Glade.
That control room, watching him lying still on the floor and... Next to Chuck.
Quickly lifting his head looking at him, he realized Gally didn't have his sketch book or sun charm on his utility belt, ratherβ he didn't have his belt at all, and glancing around, he spotted it on a table on the right side of his bed.
He reached over for Gally's stuff, to keep it safe. Putting the sketch book and belt on his journal bag, holding the wooden sun in his hand, and attaching it to his necklace, where it clanked with his moon and Chuck's star.
"A family..."
He blinked a few times to get rid of the tears filling his eyes and took a deep breath, placing his head back on the bed, and playing with Gally's bracelet, remembering what those bracelets symbolized, the promise they made to each other when he woke up after Banishing himself to the Maze.
He sighed, and gently played with Gally's fingers.
"I love you, Gally..." He whispered into the quiet of the room, his voice drowned by the sound of the heart monitor, but Gally squeezed his hand gently, and (M/n) knew he heard him.
A shaky smile grew on his face and he took a deep breath to avoid crying again.
A while after, and feeling Gally's warmth returning, he finally fell asleep.
++++ Okay, chapter one is done! Of course, updates won't be often or even regular since I'm busy with studies and other things, also I need time to gather more ideas and make them fit the story's timeline, so if anyone has ideas or feedback they want to give away I will be very, very thankful~

|Black & White| (coming soon!)
»»»The life in the Glade had it's ups and downs, but they learned that things weren't always just black or white. However... Their last day was anything but filled with rainbows and sunshine. After the grievers attacked their home, they were forced to leave, some determined, some reluctant, but everyone... Was scared. Of what could happen, of what was out there, beyond the Maze.
The only answer was; hell.
Nothing went how it was meant to, and while they had managed to escape the Maze, it cost them more than they were willing to give, their brother's lives.
Now, with new found hope, maybe... They will be able to discord that life is more than just black and white, and it's only... A shade of grey.«««

5 Tiny Writing Tips That Arenβt Talked About Enough (but work for me)
These are some lowkey underrated tips Iβve seen floating around writing communities β the kind that donβt get flashy attention but seriously changed how I write.
1. Put βhe/she/theyβ at the start of the sentence less often.
Try switching up your sentence rhythm. Instead of
βShe walked to the window,β
try
βThe window creaked open under her touch.β
Keeps it fresh and stops the paragraph from sounding like a checklist.
2. Donβt describe everything β describe what matters.
Instead of listing every detail in a room, pick 2β3 objects that say something.
βA half-drunk mug of tea and a knife on the tableβ
sets a way stronger tone than
βThere was a wooden table, two chairs, and a shelf.β
3. Use beats instead of dialogue tags sometimes.
Instead of:
"I'm fine," she said.
Try:
"I'm fine." She wiped her hands on her skirt.
It helps shows emotion, and movement.
4. Write your first draft like no one will ever read it.
No pressure. No perfection. Just vibes. The point of draft one is to exist. Let it be messy and weird β future you will thank you for at least something to edit.
5. When stuck, ask: βWhatβs the most fun thing that could happen next?β
Not logical. Not realistic. FUN. It doesnβt have to stay β but chasing excitement can blast through writerβs block and give you ideas you actually want to write.
Whatβs a tip that unexpectedly helped with your writing? Let me know!! π

I know I haven't been writing/posting much of anything for several months, but I just wanted to let you all know, my commissions are open, and they will most likely remain open for a while, I'm not taking requests, mostly because I'm busy with other things, but as I said, commissions take priority so I will make time to write them and post them βΊοΈ
Here's the commissions rules if anyone is interested, and here's my Ko-fi~.
.
I'm trying to get back to writing but also need to earn money to be able to have more independence, and while I would love to just write out requests, I have not been feeling motivated enough to write anything unless I have to.

Suneater x male reader
I write this for someone so read if you want i guess but you are not that person
Warm fuzzy rays of light through the curtains, birds chirping as the sun is coming up and crisp Spring air outside making the bed only more comfortable.
Even so when you are entwined with someone. Tamaki stired first staring right at his lovely boyfriend, his cute curls framing his face and that little scrunched noise in his sleep.
Tamaki smiled and press soft kisses to his boyfriends noise.
"The sun is up"
(Reader) stired but only groaned annoyed pulling the blanket tighter.
"Its a Friday...we dont have to get up early..."
Tamaki chuckled and pressed more kisses all over his boyfriends face.
"Oh? But you know what day today is right? Or do i need to cancel my plans?"
More grumbles, (Reader) hugged Tamakis neck and pulled him back to cuddle.
"Does 5 more minutes in that plan truly ruin the whole day?"
"No...they dont", Tamaki whispered and kissed (Reader) properly.
"Nothing could ruin this day."
Gently Tamaki rubbed (Reaeder)s cheek and gazed at his boyfriend lightly dozing off again. Tamaki could only swoon how he got so lucky, to have the most sweetest and incredible boyfriend to ever exist.
"You truly are my weakness.", Tamaki whispered and cuddled back up to (Reader) "Dream some more about us my Love"
Some Minutes passed before Tamaki got out of bed. He knew (Reader) wouldnt get up anytime soon, so he went to the kitchen to get breakfast started.
The air filled with the smell of breakfast and the fresh air coming in through the windows.
Tamaki prepared everything and then got his boyfriend out of bed.
They both ate in a comfortable silence, only the birds outside chirping and a soft breeze in the trees.
It was a day just for them, so it was spend in time together and just being with each other.
They cuddled back up under the blankets and put on the most recent show.
"I wish every day was like this. Just us" Tamaki whispered against (Reader)s neck.
"You are my everything Angel. There was no greather thing then finding you."
(Reader) blushes with a big smile
"I love you too Tamaki"
A kiss to seal the promise of a perfect day. Spend to cherish having each other.

A feather for the stress
Hawks x male reader Reader is stressed from exams and Hawks is here to help his boyfriend
One more page or one more mock exam. Always a bit more because he needed to be ready. Needed that exams to be over so it got late. Way too late.
Hawks had the late shift patrols that stretched into the night and when he returned home, expecting his boyfriend to be in bed, only for him to still be awake and hunched over his text bokks.
Unamused he crosses his arms. "Oh? A little bird not in his nest? ThatΒ΄s not what I like to see at this hour."
Hawks gets barely agknowledged and he sighs.
"Need to do this the hard way i see."
Hawks picks up Reader against his protest. Falling onto the bed with him and crushing him beneath him.
"Hawks! Not funny i was almost..."
"I dont wanna hear anything of that. Rest is just as important for exams as learning. And itΒ΄s way past your bed time."
Hawks roles off of (Reader) and cuddles him close.
"So please Darling. Try to sleep now for me. Pretty please?"
(Reader) sighs but nuzzleds up against Hawks who in return covers them with his feathers.
"I will fly you to your exam so you get some extra time, Deal?"
"...Deal", (Reader) grumbles but swiftly falls alseep
Hawks chuckles and softly rubs their cheek.
"My amazing little Birdie. Rest now my Love"
He presses a kiss to their cheek and holds them close for a good rest before the looming exams
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Short little thing i had in mind. Hope it helps you Darling. You can rock those exams.
I'm so sorry I haven't been writing or posting anything in general is just...
The past four months have had more drama than my whole 22 years of life and I... I feel fucking dead inside.
I genuinely feel like I have no emotions left, I'm just empty. I've been getting busy with my studies again but... I'll see if I can write something, even if it's short and simple.
I'm sorry, everyone.
i for one really like the paralyze fic and the effort you put into the mcs character development/revelation of heroism during the endeavor agency arc
and i appreciate that you do, sweetie, since i put too much time into developing paralyze as a character that is seperate from who bakugou is and sometimes, i just wanna focus on him, like his family life and his mental struggles, it brings me down and drains my motivation to keep it writing it when all people want to read is paralyze with bakugou as if they were attached at the hip and it bothers me to some extent :T
