Apple Intelligence is mostly useless to me.
I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max as my daily driver still. It still works, holds enough charge for the day, so I haven’t felt the need to upgrade. Every other Apple device I use like my Mac Mini, my MacBook Pro, and the iPad Pro I use to blog sporadically here are capable of using Apple Intelligence. The thing is, even though I spend the vast majority of my daily life speaking and writing in Spanish, all my devices are set up in English. I don’t like dealing with devices set in Spanish because it’s an international version, or a Spanish version (meaning Spain), or it’s a Mexican version of Spanish. If you don’t speak Spanish, it might surprise you but the Spanish is not the same everywhere. Puerto Rico Spanish is different and the language in settings is weird and off putting to me.
Long story short, if your device is in Spanish, you can use Apple Intelligence in Spanish. But, if like me you have settings in English but Siri in Spanish, it doesn’t work. I have Siri in Spanish because as I said before, daily life is in Spanish. People write messages in all messaging apps in Spanish. Voicemail messages are left in Spanish. This means that if I have Siri read something to me in Spanish while being set up in English it makes a hilarious disaster of anything someone wants to tell me.
Apple Intelligence by most accounts is not great, but this hurdle makes it even worse. I will not be capable of using it to its fullest potential even when inevitably I upgrade my phone. Hopefully in the future this will get solved, but in the meantime I prefer having messages be understandable more than any AI services that might save me tenths of a second.

And this is why I don’t install new Operating Systems until at least X.1 maybe later.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and it gets an additional hour of battery life. Nice.

As a long time Mac and iOS user, ridiculously high prices have me clinging to obsolete or nearly obsolete equipment. The ssd prices on Mac and the iPhone prices are just ridiculous.
