I'm a big fan of wizards-as-programmers, but I think it's so much better when you lean into programming tropes.
A spell the wizard uses to light the group's campfire has an error somewhere in its depths, and sometimes it doesn't work at all. The wizard spends a lot of his time trying to track down the exact conditions that cause the failure.
The wizard is attempting to create a new spell that marries two older spells together, but while they were both written within the context of Zephyrus the Starweaver's foundational work, they each used a slightly different version, and untangling the collisions make a short project take months of work.
The wizard has grown too comfortable reusing old spells, and in particular, his teleportation spell keeps finding its components rearranged and remixed, its parts copied into a dozen different places in the spellbook. This is overall not actually a problem per se, but the party's rogue grows a bit concerned when the wizard's "drying spell" seems to just be a special case of teleportation where you teleport five feet to the left and leave the wetness behind.
A wizard is constantly fiddling with his spells, making minor tweaks and changes, getting them easier to cast, with better effects, adding bells and whistles. The "shelter for the night" spell includes a tea kettle that brings itself to a boil at dawn, which the wizard is inordinately pleased with. He reports on efficiency improvements to the indifference of anyone listening.
A different wizard immediately forgets all details of his spells after he's written them. He could not begin to tell you how any of it works, at least not without sitting down for a few hours or days to figure out how he set things up. The point is that it works, and once it does, the wizard can safely stop thinking about it.
Wizards enjoy each other's company, but you must be circumspect about spellwork. Having another wizard look through your spellbook makes you aware of every minor flaw, and you might not be able to answer questions about why a spell was written in a certain way, if you remember at all.
Wizards all have their own preferences as far as which scripts they write in, the formatting of their spellbook, its dimensions and material quality, and of course which famous wizards they've taken the most foundational knowledge from. The enlightened view is that all approaches have their strengths and weaknesses, but this has never stopped anyone from getting into a protracted argument.
Sometimes a wizard will sit down with an ancient tome attempting to find answers to a complicated problem, and finally find someone from across time who was trying to do the same thing, only for the final note to be "nevermind, fixed it".

how do i make animals/creatures for my fantasy world??? i already have star bears (ursa major/minor) and unicorns and cool elks but i don't have anything of real substance. the places are mostly based on western european countries (british isles, mediterranean, just off the top of my head), along with a lot of slavic stuff, but i have gone as far as japan with my inspirations so far. i also want to make this stuff make some scientific sense when it comes to evolution/adaptations and how animals got to certain places, if that makes sense??? i'm not the best with my words when it comes to this , sorry :(

The above are concepts classified according to subject and usage. It not only helps writers and thinkers to organize their ideas but leads them from those very ideas to the words that can best express them.
It was, in part, created to turn an idea into a specific word. By linking together the main entries that share similar concepts, the index makes possible creative semantic connections between words in our language, stimulating thought and broadening vocabulary.

if you're trying to get into the head of your story's antagonist, try writing an "Am I the Asshole" reddit post from their perspective, explaining their problems and their plans for solving them. Let the voice and logic come through.

Introduction? I suppose I can bestow that upon you!
Hello! I'm Dr. Tapeworm, I may not be a real doctor (yet) but I am a real tapeworm! I love science, writing, reading, maths, and lots of other stuff! This blog will be centered around science (especially weird and mad science, but any science might appear on this blog, including computer science, not even I know what I'll yap about next!), writing, MADD (+ all my other disorders or disorders I show traits of but I'm not diagnosed with), reading and my art! I also might just reblog and tap about random stuff too! I will try to tag stuff but I will also most likely forget!
TWs: stuff that's commonly thought of when the topic of mad/weird science comes up (medical malpractice, human experimentation, etc), me whining and complaining about having ARFID (will tag) and probably some other stuff in my writing that I will explicitly have tws for beforehand!
I don't have a DNI but I do keep the right to block whoever! Most likely won't block you though so don't worry too much about it!
I use It/Forest/He pronouns and I use various xenogenders too! I'm mostly agender but on those days when I'm not, I will use xenogenders to explain how I feel about this silly abstract idea of gender! I don't really label my sexuality but I'm on the aroace spectrum and I have a lovely boyfriend who happily listens to me yap about science, I prefer the theoretical side of science while my boyfriend prefers the experimental side, so he handles most of my experiments!
