mavi-whiting:
To say Maverick was surprised was an understatement. She had extended the offer but didn’t even think it would be accepted by the other. Mavi liked being around Maddie. She felt comfortable enough to say that out loud which was different for her. Her eyes widened a bit, “Yeah?” She asked once more to make sure as she watched Maddie take off her shorts. Mavi bit her bottom lip and watched, locking eyes with the girl. “I can do that.”
Maddie with her hands on her hips looked down at the mysterious waters, she was nervous but wouldn’t let that appear on her face. She was with Mavi and she trusted the girl, she was a lifeguard after all and as long as they didn’t move to far out on the lake everything should be fine. “Just don’t let me drown,” she teased as she bumped her side. “Are we just jumping in?”

shaw-rowe:
Open Starter:
Shaw was moving some items around, wanting the shop floor to look its best, and catch the eye of that wanting customer.. The floor looked good, at least in his own opinion and so he was ready. Ready to open and allow the steady flow of cash to pass through that door.
He flicked the sign to say ‘open’ as he opened up the Pawn shop for another day of business. It wasn’t a big store, but it was big enough to stock a large number of goods. There was more expensive items in the back, which was behind closed doors. Shaw returned to stand behind his counter, deciding to write out a handmade ‘We’re hiring’ sign. The handmade sign was to give it that local business feel.. Not just some generic corporation sign. He looked up when he heard the door open, “Welcome to The Rowe”
Even with all the new people moving in and out and watching Peaches go through their version of gentrification- it was still strange what things people thought this town needed. There was something about a pawn shop popping up that felt particularly trashy. Still, she was curious about ti and made her way inside- she was looking around before she got interrupted by a voice. “The Rowe? Huh- guess you didn’t get the message that all the names of businesses round here are fruit related,” she smirked.

location: punch it up gym (i just made this up)
Maddie wasn’t a trained fighter and that probably her downfall in her certain secret activities. She did win some but she also lost a lot as well, so she found herself in the gym more often. Usually when she had a fight coming up but she was not looking for a coach. She was drinking some water as she watched Luke in the ring, although the two didn’t talk much outside of pleasantries- she did like watching him fight. When the person he was training with left the ring, their eyes met. “What’s up?” she approached dropping her bottle to side of the ring.

Maddie was sitting in at the front desk as if she owned the place, feet up as she flipped through a comic a friend from Toronto had sent her for opinions. She was waiting for Marcel to finish whoever he was tating so they could go grab food, she noticed a blonde flow into the shop. She recognized her as one of the artists here and made room for them considering she was one that didn’t belong in this situation. She noticed a bag in her hand. “Is that food? I’m starving Marce is overestimated how much time he had,” she said.

location: the roasted bean
Maddie did what she usually did on a Monday when the gallery was closed, she took up a spot in her booth sipping on her black coffee with 1 and 1/2 sugar as she went through the exhibit ideas that were being sent to her. She wanted to feature local artists at the next showing, maybe for just a night. She was sending an e-mail to city planner to help draft out an idea to inspire people to draw, sketch, photograph, or even paint what they felt best represented them or Peaches and to bring it to the gallery. She made sure to puff up the e-mail praising the town and how great an art event would be. Something this cheesy would bring in a lot of people and the girl could use the cash right. She was working on a flyer when she noticed a familiar face approach her. Maddie paused and smiled up at Mavi. “Hey- what are you doing here?”

Maddie was not one to turn down a drink, don’t get the girl wrong- she borderlined on alcoholism but if you said anything about it to her, you would regret it. That’s probably why Rose and Maddie got along, they didn’t really care about anything and their self care reflected self destructed behaviour. Still though, Maddie had started to notice a certain sloppiness lately in Rose. She was not one to tell people what to do, mainly because she enjoyed watching people self destruct on their own but this was Rose. She was one of the first people she met and clung to when she started spending more time in town before she became a full time resident two years ago. Maddie had no problem calling out friends, in fact she thought it was best to have friends call you out. If you can’t drag your friends, who can you drag?
The girls were chilling at Joey’s, there was a break from the bad karaoke and they were dancing a bit to the music that wasn’t being ruined by Peaches got no talent. Maddie noticed Rose could barely stand on her own and a look of concern flashed in her eyes. “You okay?”

oscar-ibarra:
Oz knew Maddie could handle herself, so instead of watching her, he watched the crowd who’d started to circle loosely around them. Ah it seemed it didn’t matter where you went, people were always ready to watch a fight in action. His eyes followed Maddie as she knocked the guy on his ass. Then scanned the onlookers for any friend of his who might be looking to jump in. When he saw no such threat, he looked back at Maddie. “Sure thing Saitama,” he agreed with a grin. Her warning had him looking behind him. The bouncers were too far to even stop dude, let alone catch up to Maddie and himself. Putting himself between their line of sight and his companion, he quickly followed her lead out of the bar. They crossed the threshold into fresh air and Oscar grabbed Maddie’s hand, moving them further down the block. “Here, this way.”
Once the pair had turned the corner, he glanced behind them just to make sure they didn’t have a tail. Seeing that they didn’t he raised a hand up for a high five. “That’s how it’s done girl. One and done. Remind me to call you up if I ever need backup in a situation.” He laughed into the open air. Hopefully the next time they came by, there wouldn’t be any pictures of the two of them hung up saying ‘Banned’. “That dude’s gonna wake up with a gnarly headache tomorrow, if not a broken nose. You got him clean.” Maybe he shouldn’t be condoning violence but hey, some people deserved it. Especially those who preyed on others simply for their own enjoyment.
Maddie was honestly surprised that he went down so quick, she was tempted to start kicking because her rage was not satisfied but with the on coming of security she did not need to them to try and detain her ass. And then cops, it just wouldn’t end well for the black girl who dared to be angry. She quickly bolted make sure Oscar was nearby, feeling a little bad that she cut his night short- but at least there was one less predator walking around. Fucking creep. Once outside she took a deep breath of fresh air and smiled at the praise from Oscar. She returned the high five. “I mean- I would’ve liked a little bit of a fight, but I did enjoy that,” she chuckled. She doubted they would get banned from the bar, beside she would cause a big stink if they did. Maddie was not going let them take away one of three places this dreaded town had to offer that she actually liked being at. “I hope he wakes up with a fuck bruise and a blurry flashback of a black girl so he learns to keep his creep ways to himself.”
“Let’s walk for a bit,” she breathed. Maddie wasn’t drunk but she didn’t think it would be appropriate for her to behind a wheel of car either. She was paranoid at drinking and driving so when she did drink- even if it was just one beer she never drove. It was just a moral thing really. She had seen enough bad driving sober, things get even more fucked up when alcohol is involved. “You know I got you, I’ll fight your battles for you- anyone in particular who need a Maddie lesson?”

beth-sullivan:
The longer Beth spent at the camp the more she started to regret her decision to come for a multitude of reasons. Mainly, it was far too humid for her to have the patience to deal with all the people around her. Though, the only good part was that Maddie was there and made the whole thing more bearable. “I’ve never been so happy to see your face.” Beth teased, nudging her back.Though, her mood soured when her friend explained how some guy had fireworks. “If you end up in a fight, I’ll be right by your side with you.” She stated with nothing but complete honesty. “But yes, I think I’m going to need to be drunk to deal with this. I’ve got a secret stash with me, in preparation for how dull this was going to be.”
Maddie wasn’t joking when she said she was most likely gonna be in a fight, she wasn’t afraid of Dom and was not in the mood to be triggered by fireworks. Her brain did that enough without the outside stimulus. “That’s why you my girl,” she grinned. She walked with Beth back over to her tent and snagged a beer from her. “Harlow dragged my ass here, why are you here? Thought you’d see a certain blonde with a sour face?”

She stood up to slip out of her shorts. she laid them next to the other girl, and placed her hands on her hips. “I can teach you?” She offered. “I do watch plenty of swimming lessons.” She squinted her eyes at the sun, “But if you don’t want to, I understand.” Mavi didn’t push. She would never push.
Maddie licked her lips watching Mavi, if she were a fairer skin tone you would see her blush- however she was thankful for her melanin today. It wasn’t like Maddie to be so infatuated with someone but Mavi was different, there was something about her that made Maddie feel things. Things she wouldn’t ever say outloud but her actions often betrayed her, like what she was bout to do. “Teach me, yeah,” she stood up to stand next to her. She peeled off her shirt and shorts. “I rather you teach me than some underpaid lifeguard anyway.”
