Words for Donations

Words for Donations

All right, guys, in light of the death of RBG last night and the responses by the republican party have me once again appalled, but have somehow managed to finally break through my numbness, so I guess that’s something at least.

In light of this, for everyone who sends me a receipt from a donation to the Get Mitch or Die Trying Campaign, the DNC, Planned Parenthood, the Marsha P. Johnson Institute, or the Homeless Black Trans Women Fund (with your information blurred out, of course, but the amount visible), I will write 100 words for every $1 donated, for a maximum of 10k words per person.  If there are other charities you would be interested in donating to, I will for sure be open to that, and if they are a charity I would support, I will give you either 100 words per dollar or 50 words per dollar depending on the charity and how in line it feels with my priorities right now.

So, how will this work?

Send an email to thewallhaditcoming at gmail.com with a receipt for your donation to any of the organizations above (or another organization you’ve discussed with me) with the subject line “Words for Donations”

I’ll send an email back, confirming how many words I will write and ask what you would like those words to be spent on

Tell me what you’d like me to work on. This can be a fic in progress, original work, a fic I’ve discussed before, or an original prompt.

Once I receive this email and it’s your turn in the queue, I’ll send you an email with a screenshot of the current word count.

When I finish the words, I will send you a screenshot of the new word count and ask if you would like to see the words written (for new works, I’ll send them automatically, but if you asked for a fic in progress, there may be spoliers and I want to give you the option to avoid them if that’s what you’d like)

I’m not sure how long I’ll have this offer open, since I don’t know what the response will be, but I’ll give you all 24 hours notice before I close it down.

I don’t have much money, but I’ve donated what I can, and with my current situation, this feels like the best way that I can contribute. Feel free to message me with any questions you have.

My first book!  Just in case you all were interested.  Also, hoping to update For Better, For Worse sometime in the first two weeks of march, so keep an eye open!

While researching his thesis, Clayton’s work leads him to Syralis the wise, a dragon and professor at the university where he studies. Syralis’ hoard contains original manuscripts which are invaluable to Clayton’s research. Clayton soon finds himself one of the few students to ever study under Syralis, and during their lessons Clayton learns not only about medieval art, but his own history and his unusual magical sensitivity as well. Clayton also finds himself enamored of Syralis, but when that attraction proves mutual, not everybody is pleased…

My book is being released tomorrow at 7:00 pm.  If you preorder before then, you get 15% off!  I just…I’m so excited you guys, I can’t even.  Thank you so much to all of you for your support and encouragement.  I’m not sure I ever could have done it without you.

I’d like to do something sometime this week as a release party of sorts.  What would you guys enjoy seeing?  I was thinking about maybe a discord group chat, if that’s something people would like?  Or is there something else?
