The HOOK 2 (Studio) from Bombtrack Bicycle Co. on Vimeo.
More information about the bike: bombtrack.com/bikes/hook-2/
The Hook 2 has evolved from last year to be more versatile and really a ‘do it all’ kind of bike. So winter road rides, the daily commute, weekend bike packing trips and of course a short intense Cyclocross race are all within the remit of the Hook.
At the core of the bike is the Columbus Cromor steel frame, it provides a light, strong and a very compliant ride. A carbon fork with tapered steerer helps keep the weight down but provides a stiff and confident steering feel. Elsewhere on the frame, details like the cable routing being full enclosed down the rear stays, to keep mud out and therefore smoother shifts, adds to the Hooks’ durability. The front and rear rack mounts mean this bike has more potential to be used as a long distance gravel grinder or bike-packing machine.
The 1x11 Sram rival drivetrain offers enough range of gears for most rides with the big advantages of less moving parts and less mud collecting around the front derailleur. DT Swiss wheels are renowned for being well engineered and incredibly durable. The R23 spline wheelset is no exception to this with a stiff but lightweight design making them well suited to the Hooks’ multitude of activities.

KARAKORAM HIGHWAY from SEARCH Projects on Vimeo.
Three experienced paragliding pilots, Thomas de Dorlodot, Horacio Llorens and Hernan Pitocco arrive in the Karakoram mountain range in Northern Pakistan aiming to break records. Follow them as they explore the legendary Karakoram Highway, seeking to break the world record for the highest altitude and longest distance Himalayan flight.
Their journey takes them deep into the mountain communities of Pakistan, where Thomas, Horacio and Hernan are welcomed by the local people, invited into a way of life that has existed for centuries. From the ground, these communities guide them and stand in awe as they soar above glorious peaks, the highest concentration of 7,000 meter peaks in the world.
Mixing sheer distance and height with astounding aerobatics the team revels in the freedom that these vast landscapes offer. As they fly cross country surrounded by alpine scenery and reaching distances of over 200km, it becomes apparent that in this remote corner of the world they have found some of the earth’s finest paragliding.

Warbird Pilot: Behind the Visor from Rob W. Scribner on Vimeo.
Some people see pilots as fearless, confident, arrogant, but they are no different than you or me, just willing to put it all on the line to keep our warbirds legacy alive at their own personal sacrifice.
This mini doc. is to show what it’s like to be a warbird pilot. These guys are keeping our history alive by flying and maintaining these legacy aircraft for future generations. Some of these guys were born into the life style, while others that have worked their way into the small community. Most pilots come off as fearless, confident, and sometimes arrogant but there is a reason for this. Fear can get you killed up in the air but confidence can get you home safely! We explore the aspects of flying these birds, the bad/difficult parts, the passion behind it/why they do it, the tragedies, the joys and the fears of this life style. John-Curtiss Paul talks about the life of maintaining and flying the old birds but also the life he potential leaves behind with each flight. There are only a handful of people in the world that are even capable of doing what John-Curtiss Paul does.

Most of this project was filmed on the FS100 but we also use a 7D, 60D, and Go-pro Footage. The FS100 was the A cam; we did not have a ton of lenses to work with...mainly the 18-200mm Sony E-mount and a 20mm Sony E-mount 2.8 which worked great for fast shooting. The trick for us was making good use of the Tiffen ND filters. We shot all the interviews at 24p and most of the Broll in 60p (S & Q). There were a few times I change to 1080 60p internal to the cam because I wanted to capture audio that I could use later in post but also want to slow it down to 24p. The 7D, which was our B cam also had a stock lens, the 18-135mm Canon EF. This was also the cam we used for the time-lapse shots. We had to be scrappy when making this project which was actually really fun. The project was finished up and edited in Premiere Pro CC.

Artist's statement by Avery Lawrence:
"For the last five years, my family and I watched as dementia overcame my grandfather. The act of witnessing and attempting to slow down his decay brought us together. He died in January. In Moving a Tree, I explore the process of creating an homage that honors his life, his passing, and the relationship he forged with my grandmother over sixty years of marriage.
There was a dying walnut tree on my grandparents’ property in Central Virginia. Through the process of moving it, I created a physical struggle that enabled me to contemplate my grandparents’ efforts to create a whole, loving family and maintain their own compassionate relationship. The characters I portray in Moving A Tree represent my grandmother and grandfather, and this installation recreates their home."
Moving a Tree premiered within an installation by the same name at (e)merge Art Fair in Washington, DC with Heiner Contemporary Gallery in 2011. The video and installation won the SCOPE Foundation prize and were featured at SCOPE Miami Art Fair in 2011. Moving a Tree was selected in the shorts program at the 2012 Virginia Film Festival.

The Great Blue from Howard Hall on Vimeo.
This video is an excerpt from Seasons of the Sea, a film I made in 1990. At that time documentary films were captured in 16mm and transferred to one-inch video tape in standard definition. I am now slowly replacing the old standard definition images with more recently captured high definition images in an effort to rejuvenate the film. The images in this video were captured in either 4K or 5K digital cinema resolutions.
