The chain is still haunting me it had to have meant so much to George from when he got it when he started hiding it not acknowledging the origin of it for the entire time he had it for him to fidget with it all the time and tucking it back in just for him to take it off at the time that he did. The fact while giving his reason for taking it off he clawed at his neck like it was choking him like it was painful to keep it on and the fact he lied about why it was bothering him. Him getting more independent around the same time developing his own hobbies driving to more places himself spending more time on his own playing runescape not prioritizing work. I’m not saying it’s all connected but I’m not not saying it’s all connected. That thought kills me but we can’t deny the chain held a piece of George’s soul and he took it off one day and never put it back on it’s sitting in a drawer somewhere watching him
