This is a cute feel good family film. Could it be better? Well of course! The characters are so adorable and fun. The movie takes you on an adventure. It doesn’t take long until you become invested in getting Everest home. It does get a bit predictable but it’s a kid’s movie lol!
In conclusion, take your little ones. The movie is filled with color and spirit. The characters are relatable and you’ll fall in love with Everest.

So to start it off, this movie is most likely a very accurate portrayal of why strippers would drug their clientele and why the men didn’t usually speak up about it.
The Pros:
Honestly, it’s a pretty fun movie. A good girls night out movie for sure and ladies if you take your men expect them to be drooling most of the time (but I’m sure you did the same watching Magic Mike so...🤷🏾️).
I would have to say my favorite element of this movie is the friendship between Romona (Jennifer Lopez) and Destiny (Constance Wu) it’s really undeniable and has that “sisterhood” feel. Jennifer Lopez really displays her acting skills in this movie as she portrays a believable struggling stripper. The story itself is pretty captivating, humorous, and has its deep emotional moments. The Cameo with Usher is pretty entertaining especially when JLo asks him his name.
The Cons:
Cardi B and Lizzo to be honest, are completely useless to the story and were blatantly added for “star power” (which was pretty unnecessary considering JLo was one of the stars). Cardi B’s acting is atrocious and she’s really just playing herself. I wonder if her lines were even scripted or if she just said whatever came to her head at the time. Also, there are moments that are overwhelmingly predictable. Keke Palmer was an ok actress but didn’t really stand out. She had some funny lines but nothing to write home about. Oh and the odd thing that Lili Reinhart does is clearly just a failed attempt at humor.
Overall, storyline was good and sheds light on choices strippers have to make to survive. Good acting (for some), nice emotional character choices and it inspired me to take pole dancing classes (make of that what you will). I recommend seeing if you like watching movies based on a true story but don’t rush to the theatre.
