Jasper’s Last Moments.
SONG SELECTION: NEVER GOODBYE
This was the end. And Jasper knew it, that there wasn't going to be a miracle to save him now. Or, maybe he didn't want it to happen, as he wasn't even trying to look for that opportunity anymore. Fighting the inevitable felt useless at this moment, but like hell, he was going to stand back and do nothing about it. The feeling of defeat may have already enveloped him with every single thing that seemed to backfire on him, the sadness of losing Urania festered in his mind and his inability to stand up straight without the aching pain stacked up against the young man. But he was resilient, and the fire within him made him stood his ground.
The ground trembled underneath him as the stampede of the undead gathered on the other side of the wall, tearing it down in seconds. Only making him realize how weak he was in the grand scheme of things. "This is it," he thought to himself. Jasper knew he told Tristan to run away, but even then, the man turned around to look over where he was standing, just so he could see a familiar face one last time. But he was alone. The son of Demeter pulled out his phone, even though he knew what was coming and took a moment to look at his screensavers, a picture of him and some of the demigods, and one of him and Max. Maybe he did some good in his life after all. The demigod never turned back to face his fate, but that didn't stop the creatures from pummeling him down, piling on him until he couldn't even see the moonlight anymore.
For a moment, something flashed in his mind before his demise. The thought that this wasn't the end. All his life, Jasper has heard about everyone's belief of what the afterlife was like, and the chance of being able to see his old friends sedated his fear and brought him comfort. All he could do now was wish the group their best.
Hopefully, they will be reunited once more, when they all have lived long and happy lives. Jasper will be there to greet them and to apologize that he couldn't be there for them longer. Maybe they will be able to forgive his sin.
Soon, his body went numb, and in a matter of moments, it was all over.
"I died like how I lived. Putting everyone's well-being before my own."
Maybe if Jasper was a little selfish, he would have still been alive. But that wasn't like him. Ever since he was young, he always cared for the people in his life, even if they didn't deserve the attention. Perhaps this was the way his story was meant to end ever since he came into this world. Fate does what she wants.
His regret now is all the things he never dared to say. From the people who have already forgotten him and those who he would just be a memory to. Jasper wished he would become a pleasant one. He might not have been the most perfect person in the world, but the gods knew how much he cared for those in his life, willing to do damn near anything for them. The demigod was just thankful he was able to meet them.
I am Jasper Henderson. And I finally learned how worthy I truly was.

The taste of cherries and blood was the last thing to grace my mouth.
But the thought of us was the final thing on my mind.
There was no fear in my soul in these final moments.
And I finally knew who I was.
I am Jasper Henderson. Demeter’s Worthy Son.

Maddox first arriving at camp and his discovery.
Honestly, when he was told that he was going to be taken over to a camp, the first thing that came into his mind was that it was going to look like a summer camp. And maybe that's why there was some juvenile excitement at first, as he never been to one before, but when he was being escorted to his humbled abode, it was everything but modest. As a matter of fact, all the accommodations around the campfire where just extravagant structures, which might make sense that they are meant for gods. However, the camp was surprisingly quiet, at least in this section. He didn't see much of anyone, maybe he's the first one here?
But when he finally opened the door to his cabin, he quickly found out that wasn't the case. It clearly looked lived in, as if they tried to make this place as much of their home as possible. And before he could even ask what's going on, his escort was already leaving his side. "This is your home now."
So maybe he had a roommate. A brother? I mean, they are from the same mother. Having another half-sibling wouldn't hurt. At least this one would know, and hopefully, care about what's going on.
Maddox continued to go into his new home, slowly as he looked around and took in every detail of the place. He went deeper and deeper until the demigod found himself in what seemed like a study, and the first thing that he saw was a leatherbound journal, with the initials JH on the bottom right corner.
He wasn't above rummaging through people's belongings at times, but this felt different, knowing that he should respect this man's boundaries as they would be intimately acquainted soon enough. But something felt off. And eventually, Maddox succumbed. Slowly, he flipped the first page and saw the name JASPER HENDERSON beautifully written in cursive on the first page.
"I guess Jasper is my brother's name," the man muttered before he went on to flip through it.
It seemed like this person has been here for a while, because this notebook had a lot of things written inside, alongside the drawings of things, places, and people he has seen. He slowly felt like he had found his family with the people he has gotten close to. Maddox continued flipping through the book, getting to know this Jasper and this mysterious world through his eyes. It almost felt like he was connected.
But all good stories had an end, albeit abruptly cut short, and with a will nonetheless. Maddox read the will carefully, going through every single possession for the people here until there was a section for the NEXT SON OF DEMETER. The brunette was never going to meet Jasper, he was his replacement. This man was dead.
All he did afterward was rip off the final page of the journal and tucked it in his pocket before he closed it and left the room.
