when it came to hiring children , it wasn't new territory ; a line that had been crossed years ago ; they were invaluable , they can get around easier than them ; hear things , do things under the guise of innocence and being at the wrong place at the wrong time , kids could manipulate much easier than any adult . the aim was to make money and have control over every aspect of springfield ; children were a part of the delicate balance they had created to maintain what they had , they were weapons if wielded right , when taught correctly . it was grunt work , but a special kind ( PROTECTED MUCH MORE , even if they are the ones putting them in danger to require such protection , a double negative . )

It had taken quite a bit of time for Ava to successfully coax Odin to actually tell her what he had gotten himself into, pride and a desire to protect Ava getting in the way of just telling her the damn truth. This wasn't the first time he had lied to her face either, though at least when she reminded him of that fact he caved a little easier.

Ava was the right person for the job anyways. She was able to do more than he could without fear of harm, and that was exactly why she had tracked down one of the fuckers that he had to report to. Approaching the man, the teenager glares up at him, arms crossing over her chest.

thinking about johnny and his deep love for catholism . a man that goes to church every single sunday , never misses it , helps out around the church / the community when he can . prays wherever he goes , can't sleep without kneeling beside the bed and saying his final goodnight to god . he knows he's a bad man , that everything the bible says not to do he does without a second thought in the name of work he loves far too much , in the name of surviving - but that makes his belief all the more purer ; god , jesus , mother mary - each of them as real as he is , he believes and it took years of practice to resign himself to his fate in the after life , especially as when he does go to hell ; he did not choose to walk the path of god in the mortal life , as punishment he'll be separated from Him in the after , alone . johnny understands , though ; he wouldn't let a man like himself into eternal paradise either , he'd just mess it up , cheapen the place . just having the luxury to worship in jesus' name is enough for him despite the outcome in his final act - though he'll still try to do good deeds where he can , though in his heart , he knows no good deeds will ever outweigh any of the sins committed .
