can we talk about how pjsk’s aishite cover is sung by mafuyu and ena and how fitting that is? this song fits them so very well but in different ways since ena and mafuyu are always depicted as the opposite of each other, mafuyu’s true personality is rather cold while ena’s true personality is rather hot headed. for mafuyu, this song is about the love she wants to receive from her mother / as the golden and gifted child. for ena, this song is about the validation she needs from the neglect she got from her father about her passion. mafuyu got too much pressure and “attention” and was praised too much with high expectations. ena got no pressure at all, people were shocked if she got a participation award, they have no faith or expectations in her whatever and they don’t take her seriously and she has gotten no praise out of the people she wants to show her passion to. they grew up in harshly different environments but have the same trauma and mindset. thanks for coming to my ted talk.
