people should remember that the word "hunk" exists
no, unless he's a young father, that's not a dilf, that's a hunk. If you want to call a childless man a dilf, at least make him middle aged
no, that's not a bear, that's a hunk. Bears must be fat and hairy
no, that's not a himbo, that's a hunk. Himbos must be dumb, beefy and kind simultaneously, if he's just dumb and beefy that's a hunk
like, cmon people, there's nothing wrong with a humble hunk. Why are you so mean to him?

So far there are two tumblr clones in the fediverse, @goblin-social and wafrn.
a tumblr account should enable you to see everything on other social media sites without making an account there. like a student visa.

According to a 4 month study at MIT, using chatgpt to do your assignments leaves you cognitively bankrupt. They measured brain activity while writing an essay, and using chatgpt resulted in less brain activity and therefore no learning. The subjects retained nothing.
ChatGPT users had the lowest brain engagement and “consistently underperformed at neural, linguistic, and behavioral levels.” Over the course of several months, ChatGPT users got lazier with each subsequent essay, often resorting to copy-and-paste by the end of the study.
It's not just grouchy old people yelling at clouds. We can literally measure how these things make you stupid by watching your brain activity go away.
Why are you using chatgpt to get through college. Why are you spending so much time and money on something just to be functionally illiterate and have zero new skills at the end of it all. Literally shooting yourself in the foot. If you want to waste thirty grand you can always just buy a sportscar.

Someone was asking in a thread what kind of people could work for ICE right now.
I think it's a good time to remember that the image above are the people who put children into gas chambers.
When I was little, I asked what kind of person could work at a concentration camp.
The answer to both questions I think is "normal people who have accepted the dehumanization of another group of people."

fuck these Vichy fucks.
It's entirely unsurprising that Bill Clinton endorsed his fellow sexual predator Andrew Cuomo. It's entirely unsurprising that the Democratic Party bosses are doing everything they can to rehabilitate Cuomo at the expense of a genuinely progressive candidate who actually gives a shit about people.
That doesn't make it any less disgusting, and it's one of the many reasons why I am absolutely done giving any money, or doing any campaigning, for this out of touch, feckless, garbage party.
Democrats as a party at like 36 points LESS popular than fucking Fascists who are kidnapping innocent people and terrorizing entire cities. Every fucking day they are handed a dozen opportunities to show us they believe the "AMERICA IS DOOMED IF YOU DONT SEND ME 27 DOLLARS" emails they spam us with every goddamn day, and every fucking day the useless, weak, pathetic "leadership" in the party wrings its hands and mulls writing a letter. Then they send us another e-mail.
America is under attack from a rogue president and his band of criminal thugs, and the one party that has the numbers and resources to do something about it is telling us to clap harder for their pointless speeches.
So, yeah, of COURSE those same "leaders" are going to prop up a man who is a serial sexual abuser, liar, and scumbag.
Democratic "leadership" are a bunch of Vichy Quislings who can't possibly be this stupid; this has to be a choice.
That's why the party is underwater. That's why the party is less popular than motherfucking FASCISTS.
I will vote against fascists, because that's my duty as an American. But I'm done financially supporting a useless party that can't fucking shoot straight and spends more energy attacking and destroying progressives and progressive policies than they do defending Democracy.

I think I may never be sad ever again. There is a statue entitled "Farewell to Orpheus" on my college campus. It's been there since 1968, created by a Prof. Frederic Littman that use to work at the university. It sits in the middle of a fountain, and the fountain is often full of litter. I have taken it upon myself to clean the litter out when I see it (the skimmers only come by once a week at max). But because of my style of dress, this means that bystanders see a twenty-something on their hands and knees at the edge of the fountain, sleeves rolled up, trying not to splash dirty water on their slacks while their briefcase and suit coat sit nearby. This is fine, usually. But today was Saturday Market, which means the twenty or so people in the area suddenly became hundreds. So, obviously, somebody stopped to ask what I was doing. "This," I gestured at the statue, "is Eurydice. She was the wife of Orpheus, the greatest storyteller in Greece. And this litter is disrespectful." Then, on a whim, I squinted up at them. "Do you know the story of Orpheus and Eurydice?" "No," they replied, shifting slightly to sit.
"Would you like to?"
"Sure!"
So I told them. I told them the story as I know it- and I've had a bit of practice. Orpheus, child of a wishing star, favorite of the messenger god, who had a hard-working, wonderful wife, Eurydice; his harp that could lull beasts to passivity, coax song from nymphs, and move mountains before him; and the men who, while he dreamed and composed, came to steal Eurydice away. I told of how she ran, and the water splashed up on my clothes. But I didn't care. I told of how the adder in the field bit her heel, and she died. I told of the Underworld- how Orpheus charmed the riverman, pacified Cerberus with a lullaby, and melted the hearts of the wise judges. I laughed as I remarked how lucky he was that it was winter- for Persephone was moved by his song where Hades was not. She convinced Hades to let Orpheus prove he was worthy of taking Eurydice. I tugged my coat back on, and said how Orpheus had to play and sing all the way out of the Underworld, without ever looking back to see if his beloved wife followed. And I told how, when he stopped for breath, he thought he heard her stumble and fall, and turned to help her up- but it was too late. I told the story four times after that, to four different groups, each larger than the last. And I must have cast a glance at the statue, something that said "I'm sorry, I miss you--" because when I finished my second to last retelling, a young boy piped up, perhaps seven or eight, and asked me a question that has made my day, and potentially my life: "Are you Orpheus?" I told the tale of the grieving bard so well, so convincingly, that in the eyes of a child I was telling not a story, but a memory. And while I laughed in the moment, with everyone else, I wept with gratitude and joy when I came home. This is more than I deserve, and I think I may never be sad again.

Here is the aforementioned statue, by the way.

"kung pow penis," a phrase commonly used in reblogs to indicate utter disdain for OP, has twelve letters, each of which (traditionally) must be supplied by a different user. the unanimity of disdain indicated by these twelve unrelated users has strong parallels to the requirement of unanimity for a jury—also traditionally of twelve—to arrive at a verdict. in this essay i will

I thought they removed numbers from the line as they did more print runs. And the double digits were years.
That would make this a first print run from 2023.
One of the cool things about doing a book signing is you get to check out how many printings your books have gone through. Today at an event in PDX I was pleasantly surprised to see that CHOKEPOINT CAPITALISM is in its *twenty-third* printing!

I cannot stress enough that this is a key component of Trump's appeal
Tumblr media
10 long years ago, Trump went down the stupid escalator and was as openly ugly, rude, and anti-social as possible. People admired him for it. They liked that he faced no consequences for it. They wanted to be like him. He allowed them to take off the mask. Every time Trump shits on all sense of decency, his cum stain supporters cheer because they want to be rude and horrible to their enemies (Democrats and minorities). People are much openly meaner now than they were 10 years ago, and it's because Trump and the GOP have not only normalized anti-social behavior, but made it political praxis. To put it simply, Trump being a fundamentally bad person is appealing to his supporters because every single one of them is also a bad person.
