This is something i've had people praise me for and i thought it was normal so i'm gonna just shout it out. NORMALISE BEING FIRM IN YOUR BOUNDARIES. Even outside of theatre - Normalise that shit!!! There are many things that I am uncomfortable with, I am not afraid to remind people of my boundaries when the need arises. and have even cut contact with people when my boundaries haven't been respected. and if i said that jesus christ superstar (1973) is one of the only movie adaptions of a stage musical that’s ever worked because its staging, communication of thematic meaning through design (set, costume, choreography, etc), and dedication to the source material makes it feel less like a film and more like a professional recording of the show being performed on an outdoor stage? what then?

Disney is an objectively evil corporation so I can understand why people feel weird supporting them, but they're going after Midjourney because Midjourney broke the law over and over again and bragged about stealing people's shit.

When Adobe argued before congress in favor of expanding IP law to fight against AI theft, that was bad and needed to be rejected. But Disney using existing laws to go after AI is neutral, particularly when there is overwhelming evidence that Midjourney knew they were behaving illegally and didn't care so there's not going to be a new precedent set or anything.
