What if Orion and D-16 didn’t actually know each other for that long?

Here me out:

Most interactions between them are jarring and not really on a comfortable level with each other than the standard bro bumps.

Like Orion would pull all sorts of shit breaking into the archives that cogless are presumably not allowed in, presumably doing it multiple times to where D-16 has to cover his ass. And the risky maneuvers like the race and the collapsing mine. Like they may have been done with the best intentions in mind, but it’s pretty clear that our D-16 doesn’t agree with most of this and is literally dragged along for the ride because he doesn’t saddle up to anybody else.

Like it feels like imprinting when you’re in a new workplace, the AC end where they meet each other, the lack of interaction D-16 has with other bots.

Like they must’ve clicked on crazy energy, but D-16 has been too brainwashed into fanatical belief of Sentinel and co to actually let loose.

Like the mech must’ve seen the signs for oppression, but chose willful ignorance to contribute to the greater good dictated by the “higher being”

And then he snapped when his foundation for how he interacts with the world snapped.

And Orion clearly knew something was up before the high guard, but only worked up the courage to ask right as there interrupted.

That sort of mistrust demonstrated on Orions part when D-16 first got spittin mad probably rose some defensiveness in D-16.

And then Orion didn’t even know how to bring up difficult topics about feelings.

Like they give close frat brother vibes, but they don’t know each other well enough to know their hidden depths without assumptions.

Rapunzel vibes /kid fic vibes and I need

I have an AU where the Thirteen Primes (from Transformers ONE) each focus on their respective interests and protecting Cybertron with their abilities, but they have a lot of difficulty understanding and comprehending the more emotional emotions and actions of others (basically I gave them autism)

Among those actions is the unnecessary (according to them) need for their subjects to create Sparklings and start families. To them, Sparklings do nothing but cry, eat, sleep, demand excessive attention from their creators, and distract everyone from their work and responsibilities. Therefore, they are useless and unnecessary.

But their subjects still voluntarily continue to have Sparklings, and even though their job performance often declined, they are happy, and that is something the 13 Primes cannot understand.

Therefore, in an attempt to understand the reason for the actions of others, the 13 Primes decided to create their own Sparklings directly from their own sparks (perks of being the direct children of the God of creation)

Well, for now, I haven't given all 13 Primes their respective Sparklings because I'm having some trouble figuring out who should go with whom, and so far, I only have these:

Prima Prime and Orion Pax.

Megatronus Prime and D-16.

Alchemist Prime, B-127, and C-127 (Cliffjumper).

Solus Prime and Hot Rod.

And I'm considering the possibility that Vector Prime is Elita-1's father.

Well, the thing is that the 13 Primes start out as terrible parents, and I don't mean the violent or criminally negligent kind, I mean the kind of parents who give them everything material and basic and think their sparklings will be happy, the ones who literally have a schedule of coexistence that only lasts thirty minutes and it's not even time of coexistence, they are just the sparklings trying to get the attention of their creators while the 13 Primes continue working on their respective Data-pads (I don't know how to spell it)

It doesn't help that said Sparklings, being the literal grandchildren of a God, are very aware of the emotional detachment and how little they are loved by their respective creators, but being mere babies, all they can do is cry in frustration and try to get at least a little attention from their creators.

Until one day, unfortunately (or miraculously), Prima discovered that the nanny in charge of taking care of Orion was stealing (very expensive) things from her baby to sell them, and to top it all off, she was giving him sedatives so that he wouldn't cry and attract the attention of the guards.

Prima, furious, ordered the nanny to be imprisoned and demanded that an investigation be started on the other nannies of the other Sparklings, all while Prima headed towards the medical room because Orion was not waking up because of the sedative.

It turns out all the nannies had the same thought: "The 13 Primes care little to nothing about those Sparklings, some things might disappear, the children might be more tired than usual and the 13 Primes wouldn't care."

The 13 Primes end up imprisoning all of the nannies and making sure that their sparklings are completely sedative-free in their systems, but now they're also somewhat paranoid and don't trust anyone to take care of the sparklings, so out of options they decide to take their sparklings to their respective jobs, the children obviously use this opportunity to get their creators' attention and receive more affection from them (I was ecstatic during their time in the hospital because the 13 Primes never left their sides), they do the only thing a baby can do to get attention and they cry, ask for food and basically demand to be held all the time.

The 13 Primes are very tired.

The Sparklings are more than happy.

At the end of the day, everyone goes to their respective rooms, obviously with their Sparklings in their arms. They're tired, drained of energy, and all they want is to sleep. Fortunately, the Sparklings are also very tired from the long day with their creators, and they basically cling to their chests (right where their Sparklings are) and fall asleep. And for the first time, as each Prime watched their respective Sparklings sleep so peacefully, despite all the tiredness and stress caused by said Sparklings, the 13 Primes felt genuinely happy...

Things improved noticeably from that day on, with the 13 Primes giving more attention to their sparklings and starting to genuinely love them as their children (before they only felt the same affection they felt towards their other subjects) and becoming quite affectionate and protective of their sparklings, and it was thanks to this affection (and to B-127 being especially fussy about food that day, don't ask) that the 13 Primes managed to find one of the hideouts where Sentinel kept and sent information about the High Guard and the 13 Primes to the Quintenssons.

Obviously they face Sentinel, he tries to deny it but after showing them the irrefutable evidence against him, he begins to fight against it, loses and they kill him, well, in reality they only found his wings that had been torn off by a collapse caused by their fight, but they still decided to return to their respective sparklings. The thing is that Sentinel did not die and says that he wants revenge for the humiliation and for having lost his wings, so one night he takes the opportunity to infiltrate and kidnap the sparklings, the 13 Primes wake up by the crying of the children and when they arrive at the room they could only see the respective empty cribs and Sentinel carrying them towards the window before jumping disappearing into the darkness of the night.

The youngest Decepticons, born on earth from thawed sparks placed inside earth vehicles. The Stunticons are a close knit family unit and do anything Motormaster tells them. They don't really know or care what the Decepticons are fighting for, as long as they get to have fun and wreck havoc.

The Constructicons are one of the oldest combiner teams, and were some of the first mechs to join the Decepticon cause. They're like the glue that holds the faction together, working behind the scenes on any non combatant jobs that need done and sometimes literally holding the base together after an attack. They take pride in a task well done, and don't concern themselves too much with politics, trusting those in charge to guide the ship while they focus on keeping it running. They are loyal to each other first and the Decepticons second, and look forward to the day they can start rebuilding Cybertron.

Starscream's brigade, former criminals that were given a second lease on life when Starscream stole their personality chips from a prison cell on Cybertron and reformatted them into a combiner team for his own purposes. The combaticons hate each other (except Onslaught and Blast Off, who are dating), and aren't too fond of Starscream either, but they're stuck together due to the nature of their combiner programing, which forces them to combine together when given the command to do so. After failing to help Starscream overthrow Megatron, the gray tyrant installed kill switches in their processors to insure they do as they are told.

Way back in the day, Beastformers were not considered people and were often experimented on for science. The Predacons were the first successful attempt at creating a combiner out of separate individual mechs. The Predacons really would just like to be left alone, but they will follow whoever is the strongest, and currently that is Megatron.

Like, Starscream was messed up ever since Cryak. I absolutely love how you made a parallel between them two 'I will do anything to survive', almost a sort of curse where no matter how much you supposedly love someone, they are expendable to you and so the kindest thing you can do to someone you love is let them go, something Cryak didn't want to do to him. And why would she? She literally paid to have him onlined, for the specific purpose and she knew it was always on the table. And as far as it was implied it was something permissible for her to do. That fucks one up. "the relationship that should have been different, the most formative one - ultimately it was about consuming and exploiting and all the love was but a mask". The Trine had never met him not messed up. Like, he keeps manipulating people he cares about and he realizes he is not doing right by them and he likely even knows what it means to do better, but can he?

Skywarp already had messed up moral compass and some really repressed and internalized trauma from all his experiences in military + as a glorified ship engine. Like, his split loyalty was really something that made it difficult for not just Starscream but probably for TC too to fully rely on him (and he is the eldest!) after certain point. I feel like once it became apparent that there was a conflict, he didn't want to give up either on his trinemate or Megatron, and so in an attempt to keep both ended up picking Megatron, again and again bc it felt easier (especially as he did come from military background and while he is a troublemaker, he still likely structures his baseline understanding on 'correct' way around military hierarchies). And also Megatron was his hero and he knew him for a long time. He isn't used to introspection (and too much introspection would likely prevent him from functioning at all at this point) and seems to prefer overlooking things that could result in uncomfortable implications. Starscream really did instigate much of the conflicts with Megatron but, like, it doesn't seem like it came from nowhere. And even then, Was his treatment acceptable? But now Skywarp is metaphorically 'grounded' in reality without ability to warp around. He now realized that he had after certain point been enabling Megatron's horrible treatment of his mate and is now seems to be trying to do right by him but how exactly would it be when TC already left them (does Skywarp feel any resentment over TC leaving them even if he probably realizes why?) and Starscream is so distant?

Thundercracker feels the most ''innocent'' but like, I do not think he is exactly not complicit in the trine's messed up dynamics. There is a nice little thing going on with him where on one hand he on the more 'moral' side (at least by abysmal standards not just of Decepticons but mayhaps of Cybertron at large) of the coin and so he hesitates to enact cruelty and even occasionally protests it. He tries to dissuade Starscream from staying where it would hurt him, or from doing questionable thing. But. Even then he is mostly 'along with the flow, even if the flow takes him in directions he hates. As much as he tries to take care of those he loves, to do the right thing, he feels complacent in how he keeps many of his doubts to himself because of his many doubts and too often seems more like a bystander. It is almost like, he acts definitely but by the time he decides to take action, it may be too late. But what he could have done different, in the end? Like, it is not as bad as telling Starscream he deserved it or continuously pushing Skywarp away or being generally manipulative and abrasive. But like. I wonder if he feels deep inside he should have tried more to do what felt right instead of what felt 'safer'.

Hello everyone. It has come to my knowledge that not everyone is familiar with Transformers Legends, an anthology book from 2004 where several short stories from different continuities of the transformers universes are told.

One of these stories is called "Redemption Center", taking place in the G1 cartoon universe where Starscream loses his memory and is taken in by the Autobots, while being protected by Optimus the entire time. Since copies of the book in good condition are tricky to come by at a reasonable price, thought I'd scan the pages of Redemption Center and share with you all.
