I started learning Coptic book binding a few months ago and so far I've mastered about a dozen ways to not bind a book. Part of my problem is I don't read instructions because they mean nothing to me. I'll glance over it once or twice and then go from there lots of screw ups, but I still manage to learn it faster. Idk.

I found some beautiful yukata print bronzed quilting sheets so those are my current obsession. I like to hide a magnolia in the binding so that it always bears my mark. I sometimes put blessings or spells in them too.

These need to finish drying, then I can start stitching. I'm eternally dismayed at how badly metallic floss tangles. Even after heavy waxing, it doesn't work well for binding. At least there's a ton of color options so I can do just about anything.

I joked earlier today that my husband is a better feminist* than me sometimes. And here he goes.

This is an official My Huband Appreciation Post

He is 1700 miles away - he did not do this for me

He is out west for a rodeo and celebration of traditional western and cowboy culture ("manly" hobbies)

He saw a women's suffrage museum and said hell yeah, important history!

He saw an exhibit he knew I would love and made sure to show me

He's going to give me a full rundown of everything he learned there when he gets home, so I can learn it too

Y'all ever notice the men who would never call themselves feminists act way more feminist-ly than the men who won't shut up about being feminists?
