Maharajas Express Train: Journey of The Gems and Treasures of India

The Gems of India: 3 nights / 4 days of tour that will take you from the city of Delhi to Agra by the well known golden triangle, which includes the beauty of Jaipur and Agra. Showing the best of Mughal and Rajput and some of the most impressive works of Indo-Islamic architecture.

Day 1: Delhi: After a traditional Indian welcome, and having been placed in your cabin, guests enjoy dinner and a wonderful break while the train takes you to Agra.

Day 2: Agra: After a morning visit to the Taj Mahal, there will be a champagne breakfast served at the Taj Khema that overlooks the wonderful Taj Mahal. We take lunch and return to the train, for a panoramic tour of the Agra Fort, where there is an option to go shopping, take a spa session at a hotel, or a visit to the tomb of Itmad-ud-Daulah and Fatehpur Sikri.

Day 3: From Ranhambore to Jaipur: After an early breakfast, embark on an exciting safari through the Ranthambore National Park. A relaxed lunch is served on the train on the way to Jaipur. Here we have a tour of this beautiful city, followed by a visit to the impregnable Amber Fort, and then an exciting polo match with elephants, after which dinner is served.

Day 4: Delhi: Our overnight trip from Jaipur takes us to Delhi, where after a breakfast, we say goodbye to the Maharaja Express.

Day 2. Agra: After breakfast, we visit the romantic Taj Mahal early in the morning. Back on board, lunch is served in the manner of Ranthambore, where there is a safari through the Ranthambore National Park. Back on board, dinner is served on the overnight train to Jaipur.

Day 3. Jaipur: After breakfast, visitors embark on a tour of the Amber fortress, followed by a polo match with elephants. At the end of a delicious lunch in an exclusive place, there will be an opportunity to enjoy any of the shopping at the local bazaars, play golf, spa sessions, or a visit to the pink city palace or the royal observatory Jantar Mantar, with its collection of astronomical and architectural instruments. 10 TRAIN JOURNEYS FOR YOUR BUCKET LIST

What I see a lot nowadays are bucket lists from other bloggers and magazines. Lovely to read that article, but often there are not mentioned the trips that I would like to see. You see a lot about traveling to specific areas, special air travel, touring around in a car, but rarely anything about train travel. Yes! Maybe the Trans Siberian Express ... But there are more, so much more! Below you can find 10 train trips for your bucket list. 10 train trips that I would also like to make.

1. Rovos Rail: Safari on rails It just seems fantastic to cross 5 countries in the South of Africa during one train trip. The journey starts in Dar-es-Salaam in Tanzania and ends in the old Cape Town. As a photographer, this is a trip that is number 1 on my bucket list. Just traversing the 5 countries in combinations with the excursions that go with them is the perfect journey to be able to make. I think a safari is amazing, I love waterfalls and I think Africa is very interesting. The journey is perfect for me!

2. Venice-Simplon Orient Express Consisting of 17 beautifully restored carriages you go back in time and you will relive traveling with the old Orient Express. While you take a seat in one of the cabins or chairs and you pass by the landscape you think back to the time when traveling by train was still an adventure. The train runs between Paris - Venice or London - Venice and also has the special route via Istanbul.

3. Eastern & Oriental Express This train is the exotic version of the European Express Express and is the most luxurious train in Southeast Asia. The journey runs from Singapore via Malaysia to Northern Thailand and brings you close to Asian nature. This train has something special. The last carriage of this train has an open balcony, which brings you even closer to nature and the country itself. I really do not want to miss this one.

4. Train Siberia Express This is one of the best known trains around the world. Crossing the whole of Russia by train, who would not want that? Well ... I do !! Starting from Moscow in the direction of Vladivostok, this is the longest rail route that runs through one country. The journey lasts 7 days and 7 nights and you pass 7 time zones. In addition to the food on board, which already seems special to me, you can also get food from the local vendors during one of the stops at stations. In this way, you are even more acquainted with the country you are traveling through.

5. Heart of Persia What could be better for a history fan than for a train journey through ancient Persia? With the Golden Eagle Danube Express you travel from Tehran through ancient Persia (present-day Iran) past beautiful sights that have been little visited by tourists from the west. That in combination with visits to the city of Tehran makes this trip really special.

With only room for 36 passengers, this train will show you the most beautiful places in Scotland. Scotland itself is beautiful to travel by train, but with this luxury it seems to me a great trip. The train has been operating since 1985 and consists of 9 old carriages. These carriages are from the 1930s and completely refurbished and offers spacious 1 or 2-person cabins. In addition, it has 2 dining cars and, like the Eastern & Oriental Express, has an observation car with an open balcony at the end. So enjoy!

9. Maharajas Express Maharajas Express claimed that this is the most luxurious train in the world and that the service is the same as the service in a 5-star hotel. That alone is reason enough for me to want to experience that. In addition, this train runs in North West and Central India. A country I really want to go to once and I would like to combine that with this train journey. This train journey is fully equipped and from the moment you step on board everything is arranged for you. From then on, it is only to enjoy! 10. Rocky Mountaineer It seems just great to be able to make a train trip through the Rocky Mountains. Although this train is not a night train, maybe better too. Instead of the sleeping cars there is driven with panorama carriages which of course gives you a great view over the Rockies. In addition, you can eat delicious on board this train, as the food is freshly prepared on board the train. A perfect combination! To sleep

Each cabin is uniquely decorated with precious woods and beautiful copper work from the 1920s. The standard cabins have two single beds (upper and lower bed) that are transformed during the day into a comfortable sofa. The suites have two cabins, one of which functions as a salon and one as a bedroom. In your cabin you can use an integrated sink with hot and cold water and soft towels. The spacious toilets are located at the end of each carriage.

Dining

There are three fantastic dining cars. Beautiful table linen, silver cutlery and crystal contribute to the distinguished atmosphere. The super-tasty dishes from French cuisine are freshly prepared on board by chefs. The wine list will even surprise connoisseurs. 24 hours à la carte menu
