What Is Search Engine Optimization (SEO) And Why Is It Important
Tumblr media
1. What is SEO?
SEO means Search engine optimization. It is a set of rules for optimizing  your website so that it can achieve higher rankings in search engines organic results.
It is a great way to increase the quality of a web site by making it user-friendly, faster and easier to navigate.
SEO can be considered as a complete framework since the whole process has a number of rules (or guidelines), a number of stages and a set of controls.
Tumblr media
2. Why is SEO important?
In today’s competitive market, SEO marketing is much more important than ever.
Search engines work for millions of users per day looking for answers to their questions or for solutions to their problems.
If you have a web site, blog or online store, SEO can help you get targeted free traffic from search engines.
Search engine optimization is important because:
•       The majority of search engines users (more than 65%  – see graph below) are more likely to click on one of the top 5 suggestions in the search engine results pages (SERPS). To take advantage of this and obtain visitors to your web site or customers to your online store, your website needs to become visible in one of the top positions. •       SEO is not only regarding about search engines but good SEO practices improve the user experience and usability of a web site. •       Users trust search engines and having a presence in the top positions for the keywords the user is searching, growing the web site’s trust. •       SEO is good for the social publicity of your web site. People who search your web site by searching Google or Yahoo are more likely to promote it on Facebook, Twitter, or other social media platforms. •       SEO is important for the smooth running of a large website. Web sites with more than one author can good for SEO in a direct and indirect way. Their direct benefit is grow in search engine traffic and their indirect benefit is having a familiar framework (checklists) to use before publishing content on the website. •       SEO can put you top of the competition. If two web sites are selling the same thing, the search engine optimized web site is more likely to have more customers and make extra sales.
Tumblr media
3. What are the main stages of the Search Engine Optimization process?
As I mentioned above, SEO is not a static process but rather a framework with rules and processes. For simplicity though, SEO can be broken down into 3 main Types: Technical SEO: With technical SEO you can confirm that search engines can crawl and index your website with out any issues. On-Page SEO: Rules to apply on your site and content to make it search engine favorable. Off- Page SEO: Ways to promote your website or blog so that it can rank top in search results.
4. Technical SEO
The first step in the SEO process is called technical SEO. As the name suggest, technical SEO has nothing to do with the actual content of a website or with website promotion methods. It has to do with settings you require to configure to make the job of search engine crawlers easier. Usually, once you get your technical SEO correct, you may not have to deal with it another time. On the other hand, if you have problems with crawling and indexing, it can negatively impact on your rankings.
5. On-Page SEO
The second stage is On-Page SEO. On-Page SEO has to do primarily with the content and other component found on a page.
Unlike technical and off-page SEO, the main focus of on-page SEO is to provide search engine crawlers enough signals so that they can understand the meaning and context of your content.
Remember that search engines don’t read a page like a human so they are looking for signals to check out what a page is all about.
It is at this period that you will deal with website structure, SEO keywords, title optimizations, headings, internal links, image SEO, structured data markup and other techniques that can send the proper signals to search engines.
If followed correctly, on-page SEO will also
exceed the usability and credibility of a website or blog.
consider that content optimization is part of on-page SEO but sometimes this is referred to as Content SEO.
6. Off-Page SEO
The third stage is Off-Page SEO.
Besides the changes you can do to your website (on-site SEO) so that it ranks higher in the SERP (Search Engine Result Page), the other way to improve your website’s ranking position is by using Off SEO Techniques
7. Why is off-page SEO important?
In general, when a user types a search query, search engine algorithms look into their index and try to search the best pages that can satisfy the intent of the user.
Pages that are good candidates appear to the first positions of the search results.
One of the factors to determine the position a webpage in the results, is the number of incoming links (backlinks).
backlinks are a signal of trust and depending from where the links are coming, they can greatly act on your ranking position.
If the links are coming from well-known and trusted sites, your ranking will be positively acted.
If they are paid links, links in article directories, link farms or a result of an exchange, your ranking will be negatively affected.
Getting links this way, is a violation of Google Guideline and most probably it will also result in a Google Penalty.
8. What can you do to get more links?
Tumblr media
Good content will get you natural links which in turn will give you top rankings and traffic.
If you try to buy links or get them the easy way, you may have temporary  success and then see your website vanish from sight from the top pages after the next Google update.

Digital Marketing Vs. Traditional Marketing: Which One Is Better?
Tumblr media
1. What's the difference between digital marketing and traditional marketing, and why does it matter?
Many small businesses struggle with deciding which type of marketing to do, because their budget will only stretch to one or the other, not both. The decisions that must be made are not easy: which type of marketing will give me the most bang for my buck? How do I know if my marketing is working? Who should I trust with my marketing? Should I do it myself? The answers may surprise you. To simplify the terms, the use of print ads on newspapers and magazines is a simple example of traditional marketing. Other examples include flyers that are put in mailboxes, commercials both on TV and radio and billboards. On the other hand, when a business invests on building a website, advertising the brand name through different social media such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, this kind strategy is called digital marketing.
2.  Benefits of Traditional Marketing
You can easily reach your target local audience. For example, a radio ad might play in one location: your city or region. Or mailbox flyers will go to households in a select number of suburbs.
The materials can be kept. The audience can have a hard copy of materials of which they can read or browse through over and over again.
It's easy to understand. It can be easily understood by most people because they are already exposed to this kind of strategy.
Neuroscience seems to support the benefits of hard copy marketing. A study sponsored by Canada Post and performed by Canadian neuro-marketing firm TrueImpact compared the effects of paper marketing (direct mail pieces, in this case) with digital media (email and display ads).
The technologies used in this study were eye-tracking and high resolution EEG brain wave measurement. The three key metrics evaluated in the study were cognitive load (ease of understanding), motivation (persuasiveness), and attention (how long subjects looked at the content).
Direct mail was easier to process mentally and tested better for brand recall.  According to the report,
Direct mail requires 21% less cognitive effort to process than digital media (5.15 vs. 6.37), suggesting that it is both easier to understand and more memorable. Post-exposure memory tests validated what the cognitive load test revealed about direct mail’s memory encoding capabilities. When asked to cite the brand (company name) of an advertisement they had just seen, recall was 70% higher among participants who were exposed to a direct mail piece (75%) than a digital ad (44%).
Tumblr media
3.  The Downside to Traditional Marketing
There is very little interaction between the medium used and the customers. It is more of providing information to the public that the brand exists with the hope of these people patronizing the brand.
Print or radio advertisements can be very costly. Printing materials can be expensive and you need to hire people to distribute these.
Results on this marketing strategy cannot easily be measured. Was the campaign successful?
4.  Benefits of Digital Marketing
You can target a local audience, but also an international one. Further, you can tailor a campaign to specific audience demographics, such as gender, location, age and interests. This means your campaign will be more effective.
Your audience can choose how they want to receive your content. While one person likes to read a blog post, another person likes to watch a YouTube video. Traditional marketing doesn't give the audience a choice. Most people hate receiving sales flyers in their mailbox or phone calls at inconvenient times on stuff that they have little interest in.  Online people get the choice to opt in or out of communications and often it is relevant because they were the ones searching for it in the first place.  Don’t underestimate the power of market segmentation and tailored marketing.
Interaction with your audience is possible with the use of social media networks. In fact, interaction is encouraged. Traditional marketing methods don't allow for audience interaction. You can encourage your prospects, clients and followers to take action, visit your website, read about your products and services, rate them, buy them and provide feedback which is visible to your market.
Digital marketing is cost-efficient. Though some invest on paid ads online; however, the cost is still cheaper compared to traditional marketing.
Data and results are easily recorded. With Google Analytics and the insights tools offered by most social media channels, you can check on your campaigns at any time. Unlike traditional marketing methods, you can see in real time what is or is not working for your business online and you can adapt very quickly to improve your results.
Level playing field:  Any business can compete with any competitor regardless of size with a solid digital marketing strategy.  Traditionally a smaller retailer would struggle to match the finesse of the fixtures and fittings of its larger competitors.  Online, a crisp well thought out site with a smooth customer journey and fantastic service is king – not size.
Real time results: you don’t have to wait weeks for a boost to your business like you would have to waiting for a fax or form to be returned.  You can see the numbers of visitors to your site and its subscribers increase, peak trading times, conversion rates and much more at the touch of a button.
Brand Development: A well maintained website with quality content targeting the needs and adding value to your target audience can provide significant value and lead generation opportunities.  The same can be said for utilising social media channels and personalised email marketing.
Viral: how often do your sales flyers get passed around instantly by your customers and prospects?  Online, using social media share buttons on your website, email and social media channels enables your message to be shared incredibly quickly.  If you consider the average Facebook user has 190 friends of which an average of 12% see their liked posts – your one message has actually been seen by 15 new prospects. Now imagine a number of them also like and share your message and their friends do the same?  That's why high-quality content is so important.
Tumblr media
5. which kind of marketing is better?
Well, we would recommend both. Obviously, we are passionate about digital marketing, because we know that it works. But we do use traditional marketing materials, too.
A 2009 study conducted by Bangor University and branding agency Millward Brown also used fMRI to study the different effects of paper and digital media.
Some of their key conclusions were:
·         Physical material is more “real” to the brain.  It has a meaning, and a place. It is better connected to memory because it engages with its spatial memory networks.
·         Physical material involves more emotional processing, which is important for memory and brand associations.
·         Physical materials produced more brain responses connected with internal feelings, suggesting greater “internalization” of the ads.
Tumblr media
6. How We Use Both Digital & Traditional Marketing
Our traditional marketing methods support our digital marketing efforts. The two do not operate in exclusion from each other. But we only use hard copy marketing materials to further strengthen a relationship with a contact, referral partner or client. We don't invest in television or radio ads, for example, but we will give brochures to someone who is interested in our services.
Rather than taking an all or nothing approach, it appears that a multi-channel approach that leverages the unique benefits of paper with the convenience and accessibility of digital will perform best.

Adam Smith’s Biography
Tumblr media

Adam Smith was an economist and philosopher who wrote what is considered the "bible of capitalism," The Wealth of Nations, in which he details the first system of political economy.
Tumblr media
2.  Wealth of Nations
After toiling for nine years, in 1776 Smith published An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations (usually shortened to The Wealth of Nations), which is thought of as the first work dedicated to the study of political economy. Economics of the time were influence by the idea that a country’s wealth was best measured by its store of gold and silver. Smith proposed that a nation’s wealth should be judged not by this metric but by the total of its production and commerce today known as gross domestic product (GDP). He also explored theories of the division of labor, an idea dating back to Plato, through which specialization would lead to a qualitative increase in productivity.
Tumblr media
3.  Adam Smith's Main Beliefs
Adam Smith’s ideas are a reflection on economics in light of the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, and he states that free-market economies (i.e., capitalist ones) are the most productive and advantageous to their societies. He goes on to argue for an economic system based on individual self-interest led by an “invisible hand,” which would achieve the greatest good for all.
In time, The Wealth of Nations won Smith a far-reaching reputation, and the work, considered a foundational work of classical economics, is one of the most powerful books ever written.
4. Professional Life
In 1748, Adam Smith began giving a series of public lectures at the University of Edinburgh. Through these lectures, in 1750 he met and became lifelong friends with Scottish philosopher and economist David Hume. This relationship led to Smith's appointment to the Glasgow University faculty in 1751.

5.  Books by Adam Smith
In 1759 Smith published The Theory of Moral Sentiments, a book whose main contention is that human morality depends on sympathy between the individual and other members of society. On the heels of the book, he became the tutor of the future Duke of Buccleuch (1763–1766) and traveled with him to France, where Smith met with other eminent thinkers of his day, such as Benjamin Franklin and French economist Turgot.
6. Early Years
While his exact date of birth isn’t known, Adam Smith’s baptism was recorded on June 5, 1723, in Kirkcaldy, Scotland. He attended the Burgh School, where he studied Latin, mathematics, history and writing. Smith entered the University of Glasgow when he was 14 and in 1740 went to Oxford.
7. Death

Disadvantages of Traditional Marketing
Tumblr media
What is Traditional Marketing?
The term traditional is in itself a broad term which incorporates different types of advertising and marketing. Traditional marketing is very much important for the development of any business instead of the growth of new technology of online marketing
Mainly Traditional Marketing Fall Under Four Categories:
Print- This involves posting advertisements in magazine, newsletter, newspaper, brochure, and other printed materials that are used for distribution.
Direct Mail- The direct mail technique involves fliers, letters, brochures, postcards, catalogs, and other materials that are printed and mailed directly to the customers or targeted consumers.
Broadcast- Broadcasting involves advertisements shown on television and radio and other methods of advertising such as on-screen commercials in theatres.
Telemarketing- This includes people who do cold calling to targeted consumers over the phone to build up the rapport for growing of the business.
Tumblr media
Disadvantages of Traditional Marketing
Although traditional marketing has been getting success in the past, there are some disadvantages of traditional marketing too due to the growing use of the internet in recent years. The beginning of the huge use of the internet, use of smartphones, iPods, tablets, and social networking sites, small businessmen are also able to advertise their products using websites and web pages through banners, social sites such as Facebook, WhatsApp, Twitter, podcasts. These cost less compared to traditional marketing.
Tumblr media
Some of the disadvantages of traditional marketing are explained below:
1. Static text: In traditional marketing, static text is used for advertisement. For example, if you place an ad for your product in a newspaper and you run out of stock, then you cannot edit your ad, and there will be many unlucky customers, and in this method, you cannot interact with the customer. But in digital marketing, you can instantly update your page or site about the stock and let your customers know about the situation.
2. Lack of time to update message: In traditional marketing, you will not get time to respond to the changes you wish to make in the advertisement as compared to the new modern online marketing. In the traditional advertisement, you require to prepare your ad well in advance even though if you want to publish your ad in the daily newspaper. While by using the internet, small businessmen can simply change their ad in a few minutes.
3. Expensive compared to online marketing: For putting ads on newspapers, or distributing any flyer or pamphlet, you need to pay for it every time you plan for running a campaign. But in online marketing, for any changes in the website, you don’t require any additional costs. This can be done simply by the team who are working for sales of your product. Traditional marketing companies will charge you for each delivery of fliers and mailers, whereas in online marketing your ad is open to the entire World Wide Web.
4. Customized Marketing not possible: In traditional marketing, the particular customer cannot be targeted; the only specific market can be targeted. For example, in traditional marketing, an ad is created for young ladies of a new trend of purse or handbag. But in online marketing, you can look at what a viewer is looking for and thus recommends products of her choice.
5. Provide less information: In traditional marketing, it is tough to present complex pricing options and offers for the product. The print media does not have sufficient space to display all the different variations of the price and other offers, which might appeal to the buyers. In the case of online marketing, you can offer your customer with different options and appeal them to buy your product.
6. Conversion of traditional media to online marketing: In recent times, multiple traditional marketing methods such as newspaper, magazines are now going online so that people can read the news wherever they are as nowadays internet is also available to almost all of the population.
7. Ignorance of traditional methods: Most people tend to ignore or skip the advertisement more simply, such as they might not read the ad on the billboard or banner, change the channel of the television when the advertisement or commercial is shown, etc.
8. Forced on the consumer: Traditional marketing is mostly simulated on the customer, as it is a part of their daily life. This type of marketing has a less response rate.

Henri Fayol’s 14 Principles of Management
Tumblr media
This article describe the administrative theory of the 14 Principles of Management by Henri Fayol in a practical way. After reading you will understand the basics of this solid management tool
Introduction
In the last century, organizations already had to allocate with management in practice. In the early 1900s, big organizations, such as production factories, had to be managed too. At the time there were hardly few (external) management tools, models and methods available. Thanks to scientists like Henri Fayol (1841-1925) the first substructure were laid for modern scientific management. These first concepts, also called principles of management are the primary factors for successful management. Henri Fayol explained this comprehensively and, as a result, he synthesized the 14 principles of management. Henri Fayol‘s principles of management and research were published in the book ‘General and Industrial Management’ (1916).
14 Principles of Management of Henri Fayol 14 principles of Management are statements that are based on a fundamental genuineness. These principles of management serve as a recommendation for decision-making and management actions. They are drawn up by means of observations and analyses of events that managers face in practice. Henri Fayol was able to integrate 14 principles of management after years of study.
Tumblr media
1. Division of Work
In implementation, employees are specialized in different areas and they have different skills. Different levels of proficiency can be distinguished within the knowledge areas (from generalist to specialist). Personal and professional developments support this. According to Henri Fayol specialization boost efficiency of the workforce and increases productivity. In addition, the specialization of the workforce increases their perfection and speed. This management principle of the 14 principles of management is connected to both technical and managerial activities.
 2. Authority and Responsibility
In order to get things done in an organization, management has the power to give orders to the employees. Of course with this power comes responsibility. According to Henri Fayol, the accompanying power or authority gives the management the right to give instruction to the subordinates. The responsibility can be traced back from performance and it is therefore compulsory to make agreements about this. In other words, authority and responsibility go jointly and they are two sides of the same coin.
3. Discipline
This third principle of the 14 principles of management is about compliance. It is often a part of the core usefulness of a mission and vision in the form of good conduct and respectful interactions. This management principle is important and is seen as the oil to make the engine of an organization run smoothly.
4. Unity of Command
The management principle ‘Unity of command’ means that an individual employee should received orders from one manager and that the employee is answerable to that manager. If tasks and related responsibilities are given to the employee by more than one manager, this may lead to confusion which may lead to possible conflicts for employees. By using this principle, the responsibility for mistakes can be established more simply.
5. Unity of Direction
This management principle of the 14 principles of management is all regarding focus and unity. All employees deliver the same activities that can be linked to the same purpose. All activities must be carried out by single group that forms a team. These activities must be described in a plan of activity. The manager is eventually responsible for this plan and he monitors the progress of the defined and planned activities. Focus areas are the efforts made by the employees and coordination.
6. Subordination of Individual Interest
There are always all types of interests in an organization. In order to have an organization function well, Henri Fayol designate that personal interests are subordinate to the interests of the organization (ethics). The primary focus is on the organizational Goal and not on those of the individual. This relate to all levels of the entire organization, including the managers.
7. Remuneration
Motivation and productivity are close to one another as far as the smooth running of an organization is worried. This management principle of the 14 principles of management argues that the remuneration should be adequate to keep employees motivated and productive. There are two types of remuneration namely non-monetary (a compliment, more responsibilities, credits) and monetary (compensation, bonus or other financial compensation). Ultimately, it is about rewarding the efforts that have been made.
8. The Degree of Centralization
Management and authority for decision-making process must be correctly balanced in an organization. This depends on the volume and size of an organization including its ranking.
Centralization implies the attentiveness of decision making authority at the top management (executive board). distributing of authorities for the decision-making process with lower levels (middle and lower management), is referred to as decentralization by Henri Fayol. Henri Fayol indicated that an organization should strive for a good stability in this.
9. Scalar Chain
Hierarchy presents itself in any given organization. This varies from Top management (executive board) to the lowest levels in the organization. Henri Fayol ’s “hierarchy” management principle states that there should be a clear line in the area of authority (from top to bottom and all managers at all levels). This can be seen as a type of management formation. Each employee can contact a manager or a superior in an emergency situation without challenging the ranking. Especially, when it concerns reports about calamities to the instant managers/superiors.
10. Order
According to this principle of the 14 principles of management, employees in an organization must have the right resources at their destruction so that they can function appropriately in an organization. In addition to social order (responsibility of the managers) the work environment must be secure, clean and well kept.
11. Equity
The management principle of equity often arises in the core values of an organization. According to Henri Fayol, employees must be treated kindly and fairly. Employees must be in the right place in the organization to do things right. Managers should supervise and monitor this task and they should treat employees fairly and impartially.
Tumblr media
12. Stability of Tenure of Personnel
This management principle of the 14 principles of management represent deployment and managing of personnel and this should be in stable with the service that provided from the organization. Management strives to minimize employee is turnover and to have the right staff in the right place. Focus areas such as recurring change of position and sufficient development must be managed well.
13. Initiative
Henri Fayol argued that with this management principle employees should be authorizes to express new ideas. This inspired interest and involvement and creates added value for the company. Employee initiatives are a source of power for the organization according to Henri Fayol. This inspires the employees to be involved and interested.
14. Esprit de Corps
The management principle ‘esprit de corps’ of the 14 principles of management
stands for aspire for the involvement and unity of the employees. Managers are answerable for the development of morale in the workplace; individually and in the area of communication. Esprit de corps accord to the development of the culture and creates an atmosphere of mutual trust and understanding.
